I still want to know if that point total matters, or if just the ranking itself matters?
-
I won't rant against Texas. If anything I'll be angry that ESPN campaigned for Brown and gave him face time during the OU game to do so. But if OU doesn't make it......they don't make it. It's pretty simple.
-
Ok so they're projecting that OU will be ahead in the computer rankings? And OU is ahead by 1 point in the coaches poll. So if Texas pulls ahead in the Harris Poll (which i believe they'll do, especially b/c they're ahead in the AP) does that mean they can take the BCS or will that not be enough? God how much longer do we have to wait for this damn Harris Poll and BCS?
-
*breathes a sigh of relief* I thought you were like a computer guy that was crunching the numbers and leaning towards Texas still being ahead in the computer polls. When it comes to the different rankings does the point total in the USA Today Poll matter or does it just matter where you're ranked? Does it matter OU is only ahead by one point or is just being ahead period enough? I'm wondering what happens in the Harris Poll. I really think after seeing this trend that Texas will pull ahead in the Harris Poll.
-
Are you personally leaning towards Texas or leaning towards Texas being ahead in the computer rankings still? I must know! lol
-
Coaches Poll: Holy hell that is close. OU was ahead by a lot last week and now they're only ahead by 1 point. Meanwhile they were barely ahead of Texas in the Harris Poll. If this is any indication then Texas probably moves ahead in the Harris Poll. So......then what does that do? Will OU's computer rankings jump up enough from beating OSU to put them in the Big XII title game? Being ahead in this poll seems like it may be enough for OU just because they should be ahead in the computer rankings now, shouldn't they?
-
Because it's a 3-way tie. Not a 2-way tie. Damn people don't seem to understand that part.
-
Yeah I forgot, Florida's the greatest team in history.
-
I don't remember admitting Florida would destroy them........I remember saying if they don't get a handle on their special teams and come up with a gameplan to stop a mobile QB then they'd get beat by Florida. I don't remember mentioning getting destroyed or anything. Way to put words in my mouth bud.

Holy shit, the Thunder won a game. Shocking.
-
I keep hearing ESPN go on about style points and impressing the voters. Shouldn't a road win over your rival who is ranked No. 12 do enough to impress voters? Even if it was close? What happened to all this "Throw the records out the window! A rivalry game is tough and impressive no matter how many games your opponent has won!" when Texas was playing A&M? Or is it because that argument only benefited ESPN's agenda then?
-
I wish Brad Edwards will figure out what he's talking about. Before it was "Well a win over OSU will move OU ahead in the computer rankings and if OU wins Texas pretty much has no shot." Now it's "Well a win by OU will move them even with Texas (not ahead suddenly) in the computer rankings and it'll be completely up to the polls. If some of the voters change their votes (not a massive amount like before) then Texas will win." Man how his tune changed from week to week. Which is it? OU will move ahead in the computer rankings or just pull even? Texas will need a bunch of voters or just a few to move ahead?
-
Ok, well I disagree with you. Obviously we're not going to agree. So I'm just going to move on and hope OU wins the South (which seems to be the case).
-
BTW, Sam Bradford's helicopter play may be a defining Hesiman type moment. That's highlight reel material here. Really the QB who wins the Big XII south probably has the Heisman locked up. I'm still wondering how good of a chance OU has of going to the Big XII title game. Like better than 50/50? If we don't make it then that'll be extremely disappointing but I guess I'll move on and root for OU to finally win a BCS bowl. Word is the losers of the SEC title game and the Big XII south team that doesn't get to the title game will play each other in the Sugar Bowl.
-
He ran it up the middle. Nothing wrong with that. It was OSU's job to stop them. You said it yourself that you're biased against them so you would obviously take this attitude towards it. It's OSU's job to stop OU running a basic play intended to eat up the clock. Sorry if you see it differently.
-
OSU still had timeouts, kneeling on the ball would've given it back to them then they would've lost those oh so important "style points". You can't blame OU for running a basic play and OSU not stopping it. ESPN was trying hard throughout the game to pimp Texas. Especially when they had Mack f'n Brown on in the middle of the damn game. BUT, by the end ESPN had admitted defeat. Herby and Musburger admitted that it'd be OU in the Big XII title game. Then both the anchors on sportscenter admitted it would be OU. Hell Musburger even said something to the effect of "Well Missouri better be ready to play some defense when they face the Sooners.........or maybe Texas." So umm......what does everyone think the percentage is that OU goes to the Big XII title game? I will say this, if OU can't stop OSU's special teams or Zac Robinson running the ball then they don't have a hope in hell of beating Florida and Tebow.
-
Well OU's defense is playing like shit and the offense didn't look all that great either. I'm losing confidence in OU winning this game by the minute. Fuck. Brad Edwards claims all OU has to do is win and they're in. They don't even have to be that impressive. I'm beginning to wonder with this ugly showing right now.
-
Who are you again? You just remind me of someone from when I used to post here........espeically reveling in the pain of OU fans. Hmmm..........*points* I'm watching.
-
Yeah Texas' cry of "We beat OU" is going to become very valid if Tech loses. Then the 3-way tie is gone, it's a 2-way tie and suddenly H2H is all that matters. Damn Red Raiders.
-
Of course the rankings probably won't mean shit in the Big XII south race because Texas Tech is busy playing like crap against Baylor and doing everything possible to give the Big XII South to Texas.
-
Do you think ESPN can convince enough voters to change their vote to Texas? Even if OU wins by 40. Because ESPN is saying that result doesn't matter. So I'm wondering if they can influence enough voters to move OU down from 2 in the polls and Texas up to 2.
-
ESPN's campaigning for Texas is getting so bad I almost want OU to lose tonight so: A) I don't have to suffer through watching ESPN convince enough voters to put Texas ahead in the BCS. Then I'll know ESPN's opinion controls the sports world and there is not shot for anything in the future they disagree with. and B) Tech goes ahead to the Big XII title game and I get to listen to the Longhorns whine about how unfair the system is because they're higher in the BCS and it's not fair because they lost to Tech on the last play of the game. Then I get to listen to them become hypocritical and try to throw head to head out.
-
Wow, just wow. ESPN Radio has been one huge Texas lovefest all morning. They keep saying "Head to head is the only thing that matters! Texas!" Well umm....yes it matters in a 2-way tie, not a 3-way tie. But fine head to head matters. Texas beat OU. Tech beat Texas. OU beat Tech. One huge circle if we go off head to head! Why don't these fucking idiots get that? Of course they've been going on all morning about how head to head is so important then they go "If OU loses to OSU then Texas Tech, NOT Texas, go to the Big XII title game. Is this fair?" WHAT!? You just spent the whole morning talking about how important head to head is and then you throw it out because you want Texas over Tech!?!?!?! It's pretty obvious ESPN is cheerleading for Texas HARD after hearing that. I'm wondering. Iggy said if OU wins they're pretty much in no matter what because of the computer rankings. And then Brad Edwards from ESPN confirmed that and said there's basically no way Texas goes if OU wins. What I'm wondering is, if a massive amount of voters switch their vote from OU to Texas (because OU is 2 in both polls) but OU gets the computer boost, would Texas move ahead in the BCS? Or is the computer rankings enough for OU? You wouldn't think a massive amount of voters would change their mind, but I get this funny feeling that the way ESPN has cheerleaded all week will put Texas at No. 2 in both polls. Hopefully the voters aren't that dumb and aren't so easily swayed by ESPN's burn-orange loving ways, but it's possible. And I'm wondering if it's a company wide mandate for everyone at ESPN to keep bringing up the Texas beat OU argument to try and get Texas in. I mean surely everyone at the network isn't stupid enough to forget it's a 3-way tie. So how many voters will it take to put Texas ahead in the BCS? And will ESPN sway enough this week? Oh yeah more stupidity from ESPN. Bruce Feldman said basically that if OU had played a close game with Tech then they'd probably deserve to go ahead of Texas. But because they killed Tech so easily then that means Tech has no credibility and the win isn't as impressive. WHAT!?

They went on a 31 game winning streak, lost one and then went on the 47 game winning streak.

Well we don't have a fitness thread here so I guess I'll ask this question here. Does anyone know of a site that has like NFL players workouts or NBA players? Obviously I can't do what they do but I'd like to see if there's anything they do I can give a try at the gym or a more high impact/intensity workout. I feel like my workout is so damn stale. I go and I ride the exercise bike or run on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Then I go and lift weights. Kind of boring. I'm not seeing as big of a difference anymore as I used to. So I was thinking there might be something high impact/intensity I can try and I know those guys do some crazy workouts. Maybe if I found a box for box jumps.....
