I still doubt that VA Tech or Texas will lose this season. And I think VA Tech has the defense to shut down the vaunted Trojan offense. While I think Texas is really good and will probably continue to be at #2 if VA Tech plays like this all season then I actually can see them taking that #2 spot and honestly I think right now they have the best chance of knocking off USC. So it's been since 99 we've had an ACC national champ? Not too long. Which conference is on the biggest drought? It's the ACC isn't it? I mean 99 wasn't too long ago but every other conference seems to have grabbed a piece in that time.

I'm defending Texas because I think they are a good team and I don't think anyone gives them credit b/c of who they are and what conference they play in. If they were an SEC team then people would be creaming their pants. I'll defend any team that isn't getting a fair shake. I don't care who they are.

Don't fucking tell me who I should defend and shouldn't. I think Texas is good this year and I don't think they are overrated. I think people are just putting them down because they're Texas and everyone pretty much hates them more than any other team in the country. Yeah it sucks that OU isn't at their best to play Texas when they're at their best and I will be rooting for OU to make it 6 straight. But in all rational thought I don't think it will happen and I don't see anyone on the schedule that can beat Texas. The Big XII is down this year and Texas is a lot better than they're being given credit for. I think at this point they could play with any team in the country. Just like VA Tech, LSU, Florida, and USC can play with any team in the country.

Dude we know you hate Texas but they aren't as bad as you seem to be making them out to be. It's doubtful anyone in the Big XII can even beat them. I mean they went into Columbus and won....what more do you want? Do they have to beat the entire Top 10?

You know even if I was a diehard USC fan(and i don't hate them. i just hate their attitude) I'd be tired of ESPN's dick sucking by now. I've never seen ESPN so fully bend over for a team as they are right now. The Patriots don't even get this kind of love. And the thing that's really sad about it is that the minute USC loses ESPN will be all over them like they are with everyone else.

Anyway I think it's too early to talk about who's going to get screwed. I mean a lot of people thought Louisville would be screwed and they just got pounded. Any one of these contenders could lay an egg and be out of it. We'll know more towards the end of the season. I mean it appeared Wisconsin would be one of the undefeated teams last season then they lost like their last 3. So who knows what will happen. I do think VA Tech will remain undefeated though. As a matter of fact I'll go as far as to say out of all the teams in the country they have the BEST shot at being undefeated.

Yeah but the way most people on this board act is that the Big XII has never been good and isn't deserving of an automatic bid and all of their national champions are a sham. I've been on other boards where people feel the same way about the Big XII. It gets more consistent venom than any other conference.

Hey I'm just saying that people on this board never really have a kind word to say about the Big XII or it's teams. I'm sure if this place was here in 2000 when the Big XII had tons of ranked teams people would still be bashing them. I think that if Texas continues on the path they are on and blows through the Big XII then they will remain #2. That win against tOSU in Columbus gives them a lot of leverage in the polls. HOWEVER I think that if VA Tech takes on a highly ranked FSU team in the ACC title game and they beat them up pretty good then they will surpass Texas. But fuck Florida could come up and take the #2 spot. Hell USC could lose and we could have VA Tech/Texas/Florida all fighting for who plays each other in the National Title game. It's all up in the air still at this point.

Who on the schedule for Texas will beat them? Before the season everyone thought the only team with a chance was OU and they suck this year! A&M? They haven't looked too impressive either. Tech? They're the only ones with a realistic chance of taking Texas out. I'm not saying USC isn't for real b/c I think they are very much the #1 team in the country. I just hate listening to ESPN suck dick constantly.

I wish everyone would quit bitching about a playoff. Yes we all know it's the better solution but guys it's not going to happen. It's been 100 years and we still don't have one and they've proven despite everything that they will not have one. So when someone asks for a solution to the BCS problem don't say "playoff" because chances are that person is already thinking that and has ruled it out b/c they've proven they will not go that route. Maybe if USC just got screwed out of the title this year somehow like they were in 2003 because they've become everyone's favorite media darling and nobody dares say an unkind word about them on TV. So maybe a team like that getting screwed would work out but honestly...it's doubtful that we'll see a playoff soon despite everything.

I'm tired of hearing about how Cal got screwed. Ok first of all everyone screamed and cried about how the human element needs to be brought into the game because USC was left out of the title game b/c the computers put Oklahoma and LSU into the game. So the human element is given more weight b/c everyone cried as loud as they could about how unfair the computers were and then the humans gave the BCS bowl to Texas and not Cal. So everyone screams and cries again. Everyone is going to have something to bitch about in college football. And it's sad. Oh and Cal got screwed. Yeah well they should've proven they deserve to be there by going out and beating Texas Tech. Instead they got absolutely rolled by Texas Tech and Texas went out and beat Michigan and then turned around and proved it wasn't a fluke this year by winning in the Horseshoe. So as the games have proven.....Cal was not screwed and Texas deserved it over them.

Yeah and the Big XII is down too.....should we strip them of their automatic bid or consider them a mid-major? Hey I'm just making suggestions. If they took away the Big East's auto bid who would they give it to? The Mountain West? They don't seem too bad.

I just think all of those teams have more potential to make waves and do well than Big East teams.

Could the MAC be deserving of a BCS bid over the Big East? I'm sure if the conference became a BCS conference it's quality would go up. I mean it's pretty close right now isn't it?
