I know. I'm thinking that Bomar needs to start the next game to show us what he has. Yeah well AD only got 5 carries in the first half. Yeah I know they were lining up 8 in the box but it's like Mark May said "Adrian Peterson is the best player on the team. Give him the ball." That sounds like sound logic but then again he was getting murdered by 10 guys everytime he tried to run the football. But still I think if you'd given him the ball a little more before the game became dire then he might've broken a big one like he has done time and time again. And yeah they were talking about how Jason White would've made those throws and it's true. It's very apparent now that Jason White meant more to the success of this football team than anyone else thought. I heard a lot of people on TSM say "Well anyone could put those numbers up if they were stuck with the team that White had." I know it's not the same team but I think it's being proven that White was a lot better for OU than people give him credit. And another thing. He had Josh Heupel as a grad assistant to calm him down if he made a mistake on the field. OU needs Jason White back as a grad assistant to talk to these kids and coach them. Did anyone catch VT/NCState? Not a bad game. Little Vick had one amazing run and was solid in the 2nd half.

Yeah the line is horrendous. They aren't blocking for Peterson at all. Thompson had a couple of times where he had a hole to run through but he just stood there looking for an open reciever. I blame this all on Chuck Long who is just a horrible play caller and I think he's trying to make Paul Thompson into Jason White and we know he's nowhere close to White. But they claim that Rhett Bomar is the best pure passer they've ever had as a freshman. So they need to stick him in there and let the kid get some time and show us those passing skills he's supposed to have. And they need to develop a passing game for Peterson to ever get anything. If they just try to pound it with Peterson and that line then Peterson will be dead by the time Texas rolls around.

Well then if Texas Tech somehow runs the table and goes undefeated all year long which isn't likely but I'm just using it as an example I think they'd be left out over a one loss team from another conference just because they play the worst non-conference schedule like ever. Is this a suprise year? Is someone nobody ever guessed going to make a run? Oh and btw even if they do drop out of the Top 15( they won't drop out fo the Top 20) I think beating OU will still hold a lot of weight for any team that takes them down this year. I mean it should propel TCU forward into the Top 25. It's like the school yard bully has fallen down and everyone is lining up to take their shots. Ok Big XII...take your shots......because we're going to get back up next year and the year after and you won't like that very much!!!! Rebuilding years suck. We're just not used to it in Oklahoma under Bob Stoops. Seems how it's been a wild ride his entire tenure here. What I think is funny is that everyone went on about what a loser Jason White was (ESPN and this board)and now that he's not at OU everyone is saying that's the main reason they suck.

Vince Young seems to have found a passing game last night but I mean it was ULL. I am pimping Iowa as well. When we made our picks in the paper they were my Rose Bowl pick.

Well Igg OU can make it back to the the Top 10 if they run the table. Which gives Texas a shot.....but if Texas beats OU it would be nearly impossible for OU to make it back to the Top 10 unless OU dominated everyone. And I think after yesterday's game WE all know that OU isn't going to dominate anything except each other in practice. Texas may have a shot at beating another Top 20 team when they face Texas Tech. Tech shouldn't have a loss by then and should be able to climb up the ladder. But it sucks that OU sucks. Haha. There goes our streak of being in the Top 10 and our streak of finishing in the Top 5. Unless Paul Thompson channels Jason White and the O-Line all channel Jammal Brown.

Oh and I've thought of some excuses for the "more homer than Damaramu" Sooner fans to use. -TCU was USC in disguise -SOONER better than later. -Purple is kryptonite -It's the NCAA's fault! Jason White should've recieved his 1789845948th year of eligibility! -We got mixed up with Texas. They played our game and we played theirs. -We were too focused on taking the redeye back to Norman that we forgot we were in Norman. -Dusty threw a kegger the night before to celebrate being back on the team then he got drunk and beat everyone up. -Our players are from Texas -Wait!? This wasn't a bowl game!? -It's all Tommy Grady's fault.

Texas found some pretty good RB's but you never know. I think that nobody escapes the conference undefeated and whoever wins the conference is Fiesta Bowl bound. Big XII does not have a national title contender this year. Well I say that now but if Texas goes out and looks good against tOSU I may change that statement. But watch Texas beat up on tOSU and then get rolled by OU again. But you're right. The conference is really bad and I don't know what will happen in it honestly. I guess the conference being bad makes it exciting to watch b/c you don't know who is going to win. Hahaha.....

Peterson's game isn't off. I don't care how good you are when 9 people are rushing forward and you only have 5 blockers.....5 BAD blockers you are going NOWHERE. Oh and while it didn't mean anything in the long run of the Big XII race because none of the losses were to a Big XII team I do think that it means something for OU just b/c they played so badly and showed how many holes there are on this team. Oh and the winner of the Big XII will be a 1 or 2 loss team. I gurantee you that. The only chance of having an undefeated Big XII champion is Texas and I don't know if they'll make it unscathed. And I don't think a 1 loss Big XII team will make it into the title game over a 1 loss Big Ten or SEC team. Especially if that 1 loss team is OU who will drop out of the Top 15 and Texas A&M who will drop out of the Top 25.

Georgia.....possible Rose Bowl darkhorse? I liked Trev Alberts trying to give us some hope. He said "It's not over Sooner fans. The sky is not falling. You can still win the Big XII and go to a BCS bowl game and oh yeah.....you can still beat Texas!" Now I think that's a little bit optimistic but some so called "fans" abandoned the team completely. One old guy leaving the stadium today said "I wonder how much I can get for my tickets for the rest of the season?" Another guy said "I wonder how the basketball team will do this year? Football season is over."

Well they will play South Carolina next week...and after what Spurrier's defense showed against UCF? I think DJ Shockley may dial it up all over Spurrier and the Gamecocks.

If Jim Ross is asking why then he's didn't pay attention very well. Why was obvious....they weren't good. Damn Jim Ross.....and his one squinty eye. You know who impressed me today? Georgia. I'd like to see how they play in their next few games.

Well you know the cool thing about liking multiple sports ist hat if one team disappoints you then you can just think of your other teams. While OU crushed my dreams I was able to go "At least I still have hope from the Eagles, Red Sox, and Celt.......ok not them."

Next week will hopefully top this week with Ohio State vs. Texas. That's where we'll find out if Texas is for real or not. Hey I wouldn't be shocked if OU lost to a team today that wouldn't win another game the rest of the season. Seriously being there you could just tell that they WEREN'T GOOD.

If today is an indication of this season then this will be an interesting season.

You can't win every game by just trying to outscore people though. We've learned that from everyone. The defense will have to get better. Though it looked pretty good later in this game. But I know it's young. Hey I still think they'll go to the Rose Bowl.

I don't know what to think about USC. Oregon looks like they could give them trouble, but if they get past that, it could be smooth sailing. I don't have a first impression yet, because I won't base anything on a game against Hawaii. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well one thing is for sure. They'd better get their attitude under control. They had 3 penalties that I saw against them that were from piss-poor "me me me" attitude. And I remember them mentioning that the lineman weren't getting pressure on the QB so they had to bring extra help. What are you going to do against a team that airs it out all day? I know one thing is for sure though....that offense is out of this world.

I fear OU's trip to Pasadena. I think OU should start Rhett Bomar the next game. Or go find Tommy Grady seems how he was the guy that could've run Chuck Long's offense that he stubbornly sticks to the best! There are two reasons I handled this well Sass: 1)I'm a full time sports writer now and so I'm looking at things a little bit differently 2)It was 100 degrees in Norman today and I stayed the ENTIRE game. I was too tired and burnt out to yell and cuss after the game.

Wow.........*cough*big12blows*cough* I've been quick to defend the Big 12 in the past but so far after what I've seen today I don't think I can defend them at all this year. In the past I've been able to say "Well OU and Texas!" but I can't even say that anymore. Now theoretically OU could run the table and still go to a BCS bowl by going undefeated in Big 12 play. Haha......yeah I know it's not going to happen either. After watching today's proceedings and I know it's just the first day and a lot can change but after watching today....Texas is just in a different league than the entire Big 12. Texas will win the Big 12 and I'm sorry but that's not saying that much this year. I mean just look at the North struggling with the cupcakes they played! And OSU? Beating MONTANA STATE 15-10. My dad came in laughing at me tonight b/c he's an OSU fan and he was like "OSU won and OU lost! Haha." And I was like "Well we lost to a division 1 school that was undefeated two years ago. You barely beat a division 1-AA school....." He sat there for a second and went "Shut up."

This Texas A&M/Clemson game is actually pretty good! And Texas rolled over an unworthy opponent today...then again so is USC.

I did not get the call by the announcers. USC recovers a routine fumble on the kickoff and runs it back in for a TD from like 14 yards out. The announcer says "They're getting creative on special teams now!" I watched the replay and it was just a normal kick off play......so what the hell is he talking about? Creative? I guess they ran the "pick the loose ball up off the ground and take it in" play in practice a lot. So 2GOLD I think you were referring to USC losing in the next few weeks as an upset.......but who? This looks like a year where the traditional powers are down.....so it may be exciting.

What is with all these penalties on USC? If I was Pete Caroll I'd be PISSED at my team's unsportsman like actions.

Man why does he have to be a jackass like that? I guess everyone is going to take their shots at us now? But that was kind of uncalled for. Maybe he's pissed b/c recruits say he tries to be Bob Stoops too much.

Oh hell no we won't lose to Nebraska.......I hope. I'm not guranteeing any fucking victories this season. Not after what I saw today. Oh and it was funny because this morning on the radio this guy was saying "Whoever wins the North is just playing for a big league spanking in the Big XII title game" And I now it's like "Well if OU SOMEHOW makes it to that game then they aren't getting any spankings." Yeah Miami has been "down" so to speak losing 3 games last year and I figure that may be where OU is at now. I guess it's hard to believe though just because of Bob Stoops and what he has done at OU. I mean the man's accomplishments and achievements speak for themselves. So it's just hard to see OU having a down season after the incredible ride we've been on for 5 years! But I mean once you go up there's only one place to go. Back down. Not everyone can sustain it. Because of how high they've been riding I have a feeling when USC comes down they're coming down hard. Oh and KNK the reason I'm trying to "impress" is just b/c I've been the most hated man in college football for 2 years and I want that to change. Oh and funny thing. I actually talked to some TCU fans on the way out and we had some funny dialogue. This one guy goes "Hey I'm your biggest fan for the rest of the season! That way we look great for beating you!" and I said "I'm your biggest fan! If you win a bunch then we don't look as bad!" We had a good laugh and he said "Man you guys are pretty gracious about this loss. If this was at LSU or Arkansas we'd have to buy a home team jersey and act pissed off to even make it out alive."

What is October 29th? Texas Tech? I fully expect us to lose to Tech and Texas this season and possibly either A&M or UCLA?
