With Texas at No. 3 I'm becoming a little bit more worried about OU's chances of winning a 3-way tie over Texas and Tech by having the highest BCS ranking. Then again if OU beats the No. 2 team in the country and then the No. 13 on the road (OSU) to finish the season then that should be enough to catapult their BCS ranking.

Yeah, but it looks like the BCS and voters have pretty much pushed them aside in favor of the Big XII and SEC teams. They need one of those teams to screw up to get in at this point. Which is weird considering the media lovefest for them over the past 5 years.

Well OU has a big showdown in two weeks with Tech in Norman. If the game was in Lubbock I'd say that Tech is going undefeated and straight to the national title game. But, the fact that OU seems unbeatable in Norman gives them a shot to win it and have a chance to force that 3-way tie going into the Bedlam and probably win the south. (OU beating Tech would give them enough of a vault to give them the south crown if they win out) I think it's kind of cool that the Big XII vs. SEC debate has raged all year and a member of each conference will more than likely meet for the national title. How does the Pac 10 title work? Is that based on head to head on a tie or does it go off overall record? Because OSU and USC both have one loss in conference and if the tiebreaker is head to head then OSU has it. But, if you're going by overall record or BCS ranking then it'd be USC.

It looks like we're rolling to an SEC vs. Big XII national title game. It's going to be Florida/Alabama vs. Texas/Texas Tech/OU. About the only way I see that not happening is if Florida or 'Bama stumble or the Big XII south champ gets beat by Mizzou. Whoever wins the Florida/Bama SEC title game will go and a 1-loss Big XII south team (or undefeated Tech) will definitely go. For USC, Utah, Penn State, Boise State, etc. to get in they need one of those two conferences to fall flat on their face.

I'm thinking my team may suffer a loss this weekend. I mean everyone in Sooner land is going crazy about the Tech and OSU games, while overlooking a steadily improving A&M team. It's a trap!

I have a hard time seeing OSU winning in Lubbock. They haven't won there since the 50's.

The way I see the Big XII south 3-way tie scenarios is this. A tie between Texas, Tech and OSU will probably send Texas to KC. A tie between Texas, OU and Tech will probably send OU to KC. Yes OU lost to Texas but the fact that they will beat Tech and OSU two weeks in a row should be enough to vault them over Texas for the pollsters and the BCS.

Well, the BCS makes more sense than the other polls.

I think he's referring to the fact the AP can crown their own national champion just like the BCS.

I guess it's still all about when you lost in the season, not who you lost to. This leaves OU in good position in the BCS for the possible 3-way tie scenario. Honestly I don't think OU has a shot at the NC game because Penn State will win out and a 1-loss SEC team will get the other spot (thus giving us 3 straight years of SEC champions and ESPN slobbering over themselves for the SEC). I just want OU to be ranked high in the BCS so if there is a 3-way tie they would win the south and probably win a 3rd straight Big 12 title. That's really what I'm hoping for here. Of course it's just now November 2 and November was the month when all the insanity happened last season.

BTW I think Florida may be the best one loss team in the country. I'd put them ahead of the Big XII champ if they won the SEC and were going to face Penn State or something in the title game.

USC hasn't played anybody except maybe Ohio State. I think they'll stay behind Texas, Florida and OU who all have better wins on their resume. (I don't even have to mention who Texas has played. But Florida has beaten Georgia and LSU while OU has beaten Cincy who turned out to be a decent win and TCU which is looking like a great win right now). Plus OU and Texas have better losses than USC. The computers are going to kill USC, I don't see how they vault any of those teams in the final BCS rankings. Basically I think everyone needs to lose twice for USC to play for a national title. A one-loss Big XII champion and one-loss SEC champion would play each other in the title game before USC would even sniff it.

Yeah, but if OU beats Tech and OSU that should probably vault them above Texas in computer rankings and probably in voters. So the 3-way tie really seems to work out best for OU. Right now I see the BCS as this: 1) 'Bama 2) Penn State 3) Tech 4) Texas 5) OU (or florida, they seem interchangable) 6) Florida (or OU) 7) USC 8) OSU And what a sad state the OU-Nebraska rivalry has ended up in. Then again, it's nice to hang our most points against them ever tonight.
