The OaO NFL Draft 2005 Thread

I don't understand the knock on his knees. They were reconstructed. His doctor said they were stronger than they were before the surgery. He competed an entire season without getting hurt(when some NFL GM's thought he couldn't make an entire season without getting injured). And he never would've won the Heisman had he not torn his ACL's. Because before he was a running QB. He basically reinvented himself into a pocket QB. Oh well hopefully he'll get picked up as a free agent. The dude is good and just needs a shot. Or maybe he'll come back as a grad assistant at OU. I think the team would love to still have him around and I know he could help out.

Wow there's Sooners going left and right in this draft. Makes me even more worried about the team next season. It sucks liking your college so much b/c you want to root for your guys but you hate the team they go to. So maybe you want to be like "Yeah Mark Clayton. Catch a bunch of TDs but the rest of the team suck!"

Yeah but Farve is a fighter and he tried his damndest to get into the league. Cody didn't get into shape and performed badly for the scouts at the combine and pro-day. A guy drop from sure-fire Top 10 to #53? There is a reason that the NFL knows that we don't. I just don't think he has the winning attitude. Oh and him passing out against Texas A&M? I gurantee it was drug related.

They said the same thing about this guy that came out of Southern Mississippi about 14 years ago.. The first month I went to USM, you wouldn't believe how many stories I heard that started "I saw Brett Farve last night. He was pissing on the bar, literally..." Yeah but did Farve do coke and have extreme battles with mental depression?

I still say Cody will be an NFL bust. He's to concerned with partying and having a good time. Plus he can't maintain his weight. I heard(don't know for sure) that he was supposed to come in at like 270 and he came into the combine weighing like 255. I'm sorry dude but I'm 2 inches shorter than you and you're more muscle than me and you weigh the same as me? Anyways I'm glad Mark Bradley found a home. That's a quality pick right there. I think Bradley and Poole are good for the teams that got them. They'll both be good pro's. Clayton could possibly be awesome...well he probably will be. I think Brown is good but I mean O-Lineman don't stand out like that. Cody will be a bust. And Tennessee getting Brandon Jones was a good deal for him b/c he's decent and could be a good 3rd reciever. All in all I think that the Sooners are finding good homes and will contribute. I dunno if any of them will turn into All-Pros like Roy Williams though.

Where is Bo now? My friend used to work with him at NE. Bo offered him a job at OU but he didn't take it last. Did Bo really suck that bad at OU. Everyone here in NE wanted him to replace solich. Which i thought was crazy. He's the defensive coordinator at LSU now. Anways he did suck. OU's secondary with basically the same player MINUS Derrick Strait was dominant in 2004. The only game they slipped on was against KSU. Hell LSU didn't get a 1st down in the 2nd half of the Sugar Bowl. Here comes big bad Bo into town and OU's secondary becomes the worst unit put on the field since Stoops took over. They just gave up huge play after huge play. While he was here everyone said it was the scheme. When he left everyone confirmed it was the scheme and that the players didn't like the emphasis on zone coverage and technique. They wanted to play physical man coverage.

I think the Browns got a steal with Poole. The problem with Poole last year wasn't his talent it was the fact that Bo Pelini's scheme sucked ass and it made the whole defense struggle. Pelini emphasized more technique and OU was used to just physicality and domination. Plus he had to pick up the slack for those shitty secondary players that were running around without Perkins.

Are there any Bengals fans on this board? I forgot to ask that earlier. They seem to be a rare commodity outside of Cincy.

Well I'm glad Clayton got drafted but I don't know how I feel about him on the Ravens. I was hoping for what realworldschampion was talking about. My boy on my team. That'd be nice. Oh well. They may still go for safety help with Poole.

Dan Cody sure as hell is dropping. The dude used to be a Top 10 pick. He's got to many personal demons though. He parties too hard and did battle depression. The NFL knows that. On top of that my friend Jackie is Rufus Alexanders ex-gf and she knows a lot of them. And she told me that Cody does coke....so yeah....he'll be an NFL bust IMO. Which is fine with me. He was one of the lazy asses asking Matt Leinart to run the ball so he could go home. Dumbass.

I agree though. Sometimes he annoys me more than Hodgey boy. I still can't believe Hodge was saying that Mike Williams wouldn't do anything in the NFL.

The OaO NFL Draft 2005 Thread

You never know. I mean I thought they dude would go a little higher. He's considered the best route runner in the draft. I heard an NFL GM said he was the most polished reciever and route runner that they've seen in years. But I mean his knock is that he's small. They claim the reason USC and LSU beat him was b/c they got more physical with him. Texas got physicaly with him and he was fine. They double covered him and that was what took him out of games.

Why, because the Saints made a good pick who happens to be a Sooner? And I still hear the Cowboys may take Clayton. Not exactly where I want my boy to go though....

    The Slowly-Dying Death of RPG's.

I mean I agree I can't find an RPG I like these days like I did in the old days. But I think that was more because RPG's were like a new experience and I was like a wide eyed kid finding this new world. I'm jaded and so are you Crono.

Oh hell no, Reid better move up and grab him. I'm sick and tired of seeing that fucking pussy(Todd Pinkston) on the field... Hey Pinkston had a good Super Bowl.....if he can play like that during the season I'll be happy with him.
