It's not power tripping. It's doing my job. If I was power tripping I'd write tickets because I didn't like the way people looked at me.
-
Ohhhh, you're one of those people. One of what? Those guys that hides to take a shit or gets stage fright at a urinal?
-
Umm.......well first of all it's against the rule and supposed to be an automatic citation. But generally I just make them poor it in the sink and give them a warning. Second of all it's nasty. It's someone spitting tobacco into a cup. And other patrons do complain about it. And then they throw the cup full of tobacco juice in the trash and it attracts bugs. Something we don't want.
-
The rules are clearly posted at every entrance and all over the god damn library. It's not that hard to see them. And I've caught people repeatedly breaking the rules. And there's no tobacco in any building on OU's campus. It all has to be outdoors. So I don't know why they think the library is any different. I mean you can't smoke in there. Dipping is just as nasty if not worse. Damn rednecks and their skoal.

No. It took me 3 months to find this job. Besides out of a 4 hour shift I patrol maybe an hour. The rest of the time I get to spend doing homework. It's the best job to get homework done with.
-
I don't think you understand that I can't. I have to to keep the job and get paid. Besides the dipping is fucking nasty and I've had people come up to me and complain about people doing it.
-
E tu Hoff? Anyways we have rules. It wouldn't be so hard if they followed them or conducted themselves like civilized people and not monkeys. And do you guys not see the part where I said I HAVE TO OR I WILL LOSE MY JOB.
-
I could care less about that stuff. Just as long as they're quiet and don't leave there fucking trash everywhere. And they aren't dipping. Oh and I get mad if they have food. It wouldn't be so bad but you don't understand. These people don't act like civilized human beings. They leave there trash fucking everywhere and eat greasy fucking food and get it everywhere.
-
I have considered it........

It must be real hard to keep all dem nerdz in line. If you keep up all dis hard work maybe they'll makes you a hall monitor or crossing guard. I could see it now. Stupid Security Guard Damaramu: Hello, hello, I need back-up. Der's a kid in the library with no lid on his coffee. Send in da police. No I threaten to call the police if they won't leave when I tell them to. Then they usually leave. They only get kicked out if they're causing a disturbance or chewing and refusing to get rid of it.
-
I don't care if other kids care or not. It's my job so I do it. There's security cameras fucking everywhere. If I walk by someone and don't say anything then my boss will see the tape and fire me. That simple. I have to get paid. Plus it's not so much a problem with them spilling the drinks as it is with the fact that they leave them there like the whole fucking place is their trash can when they leave! If they have a mug or a bottle they're less likely to leave it there. Plus if they leave the bottle it's fine b/c the lid is screwed on and it won't attract bugs. The dip is just nasty though....

I generally try to find the most secluded bathroom I can if I have to. I can't piss with people around(which means i don't use urinals i use the stalls to piss) and I try to make sure nobody is in the bathroom when I shit. Then if a sound comes out while I'm sitting there I try to hold it to keep more sounds from coming out.
-
Seriously. I would have hated Dama back when I was in undergrad. I'm just fine as long as you're following the rules. Keep your drink in a mug with a lid or a bottle and don't dip and you're fine. It's really not that hard. But then you get those tough shit "too cool for the rules" bastards that think they can do whatever they want and then I get pissed. And I have thrown people out before and I have written tickets and the tickets hold up.
-
Oh and how do you download the names into the game? I don't nkow how.
-
Well people fucking dip here and it's fucking disgusting. And people don't follow the rules. So I have to make them.
-
I actually do. And I usually deal with people that challenge it. The best way to do it is to threaten someone's pocket book. As soon as I threaten with a ticket most people shut up. Not to mention that I have a radio that all I have to do is say "I'll call the cops on this" and they shut up.
-
Those go on your overall bill. You do have to pay them. And if I catch you again I can just keep giving you tickets as the charges pile up and you can't graduate because you have an outstanding bill owed to the university. On top of that since I do it in the library I can ban people from this place. And too some people here that'd be a death sentence.
-
Also as a security guard I've learned a couple of things: -I have power. I can write you a ticket. If you piss me off I will take it out on you. -Don't argue with me. We're going by my rules. Not the ones that you feel like making up right now. -Don't fucking do dip or chew in the library. And don't act like a dumbass when I tell you to stop. -Don't act surprised when I tell you you're breaking a rule and say "I didn't know!" That'll get you a ticket faster than anything else.
-
Have you ever been asked to not report something b/c it's "embarassing" or "nobody's business!!" Because that shit pisses me off. I'm like "this is my job........fucker."

Well Spring Football is just wrapping up. Anybody go to any spring games or watch any? Anything new about your team? I just got back from OU's spring game and I noticed a couple of things: -the offense sucks ass. but when you lose a bunch of All-Americans and a Heisman trophy winner I guess there will be a downslide. -the offensive line needs help badly -the defense kicks ass again. They were dominating the offense all day and the line had something like 10 sacks. It was insane. -Paul Thompson will more than likely be the starter. He had the best spring game but Rhett Bomar is pretty incredible. -Adrian Peterson did no play in the spring game so the offense would've been better with him in. -Funny moment as a Safety hit a Reciever helmet to helmet and Bob Stoops walked out on the field and grabbed the guy by the face mask and began to chew him out. Bob got a standing ovation for that one. So any questions?(serious questions) or want to share anything about your programs spring football? Basketball Coach Kelvin Sampson once said "There are two sports in Oklahoma. Football and Spring Football."

I don't think it causes arthiritis. I thought that was a myth. Anyways I crack my hands fairly frequently. I do my back a lot. My neck I can't do, I can get it going good maybe once a week. My knees if I've been sitting for a while. Sometimes my hips. I can do my knees and ankles sometimes by bending in place. I know it's air buildup in the joints that makes the noice but why does it feel so good? And do you have to have that area in one position and inactive for a long period of time or is it just time that makes it buildup? I wish I could crack everything at once. That would feel so good and sound so awesome.
-
SHOCKED! SHOCKED I TELLS YA! I remember coming out of the spring last year they kept asking "Is there a QB controversy at OU?" And Bob Stoops had one of the better quotes in saying "Yeah I'm going to bench the Heisman winner for a Freshman." That pretty much shut everyone up. Since Leinart won his last game though they probably don't have to deal with the idiocy.

None of the current players did. But all of the NFL players future and present(Roy Williams was there) went out into the street that runs beside the stadium and just let people walk up to them and take pictures and sign stuff. No security. Nothing like that. Just people surrounding them and them signing whatever. Why? Want to know if they're good guys? Mark Clayton actually had a going away party a couple of weeks ago. Nobody set it up. He was on the radio and he said "Hey you know what? I'm going to be down at this bar on Friday night. If anyone wants to come say bye to me then come on out. I'm going to be out there having a good time and I'll sign autographs and buy drinks. I can afford it now!" And then he had people come out to the bar and he signed autographs and bought some drinks and had a good time.
-
Were there Michigan players going to the NFL signing autographs? Because of OU's poor offensive performance today most fans were more concerned with the fact that Mark Clayton, Mark Bradley, Jammal Brown, Jason White, Antonio Perkins, and Vince Carter were signing autographs near the stands. In OU's case spring practice can mean a lot basically b/c we have a QB controversy. But I know things change when Freshman get out there. Hell OU's whole team changed when AD showed up in the fall. But the defense we have now looks awesome. Finally we're back to defense and not these pretty offensive teams we've had the past two years. I'm ready to go back to the days of grinding games out and keeping the score low. The days of pounding FSU 13-2. Not the days of blowing everyone out by 50 and then figuring out we don't know what to do when challenged on offense. Oh and Al I'm pretty sure Sampson said that b/c he was pissed that most OU fans care more about football than basketball.

Yes. There's a big ass statue of him that cost the city a ton of money out in front of our ballpark. Plus a street is named after him and there's a restraunt named after him there too. A section of the ballpark is also named after him. Anyways back to Spring Football. Don't be a jackass about it like Czech. Just fucking talk about spring football and your team and what they are doing.
