Which one was Amanda? I really don't like Nadia but I guess she's going to make it to the end anyways. I'll go as far as to say that the top THREE will be male. Also I really don't think that Mario is as good as Paula thinks he is.

1. Isn't it around 1.2 million for the greater metropolitan? 2. Because nobody wants to live in Oklahoma Fucking City. I sure as hell don't. I rather like Moore. And Norman is better as well. Hell I'd rather live in Edmond. I will say though that I do like it in this state and I'm not one of those kids that wants to get the hell out of here b/c it's the "cool" thing to do. I do like where I live. I'll probably only ever move if a job demands it.

Yeah but I'm saying as an honor and prestige thing winning the Big XII regular season title is more important to OU than winning the tournament. No what I'm saying about these automatic bids is this. A team that's 9-18 or whatever can get hot and make a run in the conference tourney and maybe catch a team sleeping and go to the NCAA tourney. I don't think that's good b/c those people job hardcore.

Does the difference between there and their really bother you that much? I mean seriously. You guys are getting downright petty. I'm not saying nobody doesn't try. I'm just saying that maybe they don't give it everything. There's a difference between not trying and not giving all of your heart. Hell I doubt OSU gave it their all last year and they won the damn Big XII tourney.

Low cost of living is normally directly related to low average income. Oklahoma City is quite a bit below the national average in average wages. Hmm.....well I mean I haven't made minimum since I was in High School. So I dunno. I guess other people have it tougher.

Everyone knows the best time of your life is your 21st b-day. *looks at calendar* July 26th......so far away...... Anyways I've been out for 3 years and I don't miss it at all. If I did miss something from it then maybe it'd be the lack of any real responsibility.
-
Yeah but some of the bigger teams don't give it there all. I mean what if OU was a solid 3 seed with no room for improvement? And there's really no difference between a 3 and 4. So where's the incentive to really give it there all? Even Eddie Sutton commented that he hates the conference tourneys. Maybe his teams don't give 100% with that attitude?

Well it's big in terms of area but is it in terms of people? And the downtown area isn't that big as opposed to a downtown Dallas or something like that. And OKC is different than most cities in that it stretches far and aside from really Moore which is a suburb they don't name any of there other suburbs something else. It's all considered OKC. I dunno it's weird how they have it laid out. Rather than the downtown area and some of the surrounding area they have the downtown area and miles and miles of houses and buildings and what not all as part of the city. Angelslayed you're probably just thinking of driving through the downtown area. If you actually scout around the city has a huge area. But the actual downtown area which I was referring to earlier is pretty small. And while I'm on it why does this place have the lowest cost of living? I think it's the lack of population and lack of actual entertainment. They've been working on that downtown though. But I mean there's still not as much to do here than other places.

Isn't Oral Roberts in Oklahoma? Yeah I didn't know that until recently. Weird....I don't know where a lot of shit in this state is and I've been here 20 years. The conference tournaments are stupid. What if Mizzou gets lucky and wins the Big XII tourney? They don't deserve to be in the tournament! It's crappy that a loser can make it in just by getting hot.
-
Wow I just found out that it looks very good that OU could win the Big XII tourney AND get that #2 seed. They've won 3 out of the last 4 Big XII tourneys. They are typically awesome at that tournament. Hmmmm.....
-
Well you guys are living in places with a higher concentration of people. Yeah there's a lot of people in OKC but the city is nowhere near as big as other capitals nor does it have as many people. I rather like not having to be stuck in traffic all the time.
-
Yeah it's definitely cheaper to live in Oklahoma than the bigger states. 400 a month is about regular for a 2 bedroom here. But I mean I can't work full time b/c of school so I still can't afford to get out on my own. Not that that has anything to do with minimum wage since I make above minimum.

I think Paula goes nuts for who she has a crush on. She was losing it when Randy and Simon were bashing on Travis.

We're already getting the bat signal this early?

I LOVE Bo Bice. That dude is awesome. Where is he from? He's gotta be a southerner. He just reminds me of a great southern rocker and I love that kind of music. Simon is right about him. I did like Constantine b/c of the rock thing but damn Bo is like 100x better.

Is he riding a horse in that picture? If so that's pretty cool.

Igg seems to have moved OU above OSU. I guess that's fair. I never thought OU would be the best team in the Big XII this season. I sure hope they get stuck in the OKC bracket. How do you guys see them doing in the tourney? Hell where do you think all the Big XII teams are going? Kansas: Kansas is either going to shake the funk and win it all or take a Sweet 16 exit after one of the Seniors injures himself and they try to figure out what the hell to do. OSU: OSU I think can make it to the Final Four again if they figure out how the hell to play defense. If not they'll go out in the Elite 8. OU: OU I think right now is going to the Sweet 16 and more than likely the Elite 8 if they stay hot. They'd have to be really lucky to get the Final Four though with the amount of talent that's in the tourney this year. Texas Tech: they're falling apart. I think they go out in the first round. Texas: they're a first round or second round exit easy. Texas A&M/ISU/whoever: i don't think they'll do anything special.
-
How many of these small conference schools like this make a huge impact in the tourney? And I'm not counting the West Coast Conference and A-10. I'm talking about all of these championship games that have happened recently. Do they ever move into the Sweet 16? Or are they just there to job to the higher seeds?

This is a spin-off of the ownership thread. How does your local universtiy or your favorite university treat ALL of it's sports programs? The university charges the most for football tickets, advertises for it and basically treats it like a pro team. EVERY sport at OU is free with a student ID EXCEPT Football and Men's Basketball games. And Men's basketball tickets generally cost 15-25 bucks. Football tickets cost 40-100 bucks(red river shootout tickets are like 65 for students). Most of the universities sports funds go to the football stadium and the team. Most commercials and sponsorships are for them. A basketball player can walk to class without anyone stopping him. Football players have to put on headphones and baseball caps and look at the ground if they want to make it in peace. Now as much as they put into football and basketball as good as they are at that they neglect every other sport. OU ranks among the lowest in baseball facilities. The softball stadium is really small, and the soccer and tennis fields are like nothing. They never advertise for any other sports. I never know when softball, baseball, or women's basketball games are. But if there was no ESPN then I would still know when every football and basketball game is b/c of the way the university treats it. So that's what it's like at my university. Football players are gods. Basketball players are cool. Everyone else.......well good thing you play that sport kid. Good job. But we don't care. At least that's how the university looks at it.

Actually I was seeing how you thought OSU would end up. I still have a feeling Kansas will get that 2 seed. Langford's leg isn't broken or fractured. They're just saying that it's a bad sprain. But if he isn't ready I can see Kansas taking an early exit from the Big XII tourney and the NCAA tourney.

Yeah. That's my name. Rant is there exactly a reason why you decided to enter this thread and start a fight with me? Everything was going fine and everyone was talking about basketball just fine until you started shit. Anyways back to the games. I thought that Gonzaga and St. Mary's were playing tonight? Or is that later or tomorrow? There's talk that OU won't get put in Oklahoma City for the tournament. Well it's between OU, OSU, and Kansas. I mean all of them except Kansas would draw fans here. OSU though.....oh boy......I bet they get a 3 seed at this point. Maybe lower? Nah probably not lower? What do you think Chris?

I don't mind it. I don't really go downtown that much unless I'm going to a concert or baseball game. I can tell you I like NYC and Dallas a whole hell of a lot better. Anyways I live in Moore. Which is a suburb of OKC. Which is 15(10 with the way i drive) minutes up the highway from Norman. So that's why I live there and go to OU.
-
Yes and my editor has never had to complain about my style or writing. On the message board I just type my thoughts and put them down here however the fuck I want. I see no rule saying that it has to look like an essay or newspaper story. It says to use caps and make it comprehensible which it is. So if you have a problem with it Rant then kindly fuck off.

No I've seen farms. But they're usually only 20 minutes from the city. Then again I do live in a suburb of Oklahoma City so maybe I haven't properly explored for the middle of nowhere.

I wish Kim would go away. Jeff could still use his arms for gods sake. So stupid. Sometimes the voting amazes me.
