I remember in the comics the Batmobile being the Batmobile right off the bat. It wasn't Mad Max's Go-Cart.
-
Yeah but Harley the point is you shouldn't take offense to me being a Red Sox fan. You should welcome another fan to your team. No I don't live in Boston. But I do cheer for the Red Sox over EVERY OTHER TEAM. Fuck I bought Red Sox stuff and checked the scores of their games when I didn't even know a thing about baseball. Does that make me less of a fan than you b/c I don't live in Boston and have family that were always fans? No. And you're taking a very elitist attitude. My grandpa is a HUGE Steelers fan and has been with them since he was a child(he's like 72 now) and he's watched every Steelers season since they've been on TV. Does that mean that I should be a Steelers fan b/c it's in my family tradition? Fuck no. I'm an Eagles fan and I don't care who my family likes.
-
Oh no. This is going to turn into another X-Men discussion. I can feel it. No it's just that it looks absurd. I mean seriously that looks nothing like the batmobil from the comics, show, movies, anything. It doesn't look like anything that Batman would drive. Hell it looks like a go-cart with armor plating.

Well the Celtics aren't winning shit. And they haven't for as long as I've been watching basketball. But that doesn't really matter to me. I like the team. I like the history. I mean I know they used to win but I wasn't around for the winning. I've just been here for the losing and that's not a problem to me b/c I like the team. And I can't explain why I like them because they aren't any good. But I mean something about that team draws me in and makes me want to cheer for them. The Eagles like I said the reason I started liking them was Randall Cunningham. You can be drawn to a team that isn't winning by the players on the team or the history or whatever. Hell some people(mostly girls) can be drawn to a team by the uniform.
-
The reason I go else where is because I pick teams off of who I like and I don't base if off geographic location. If I based it off geographic location then I'd be a Patriots fan but I'm not. I don't like them at all. I respect them and what they can do. But I don't like them.
-
Hey how do they have the conferences ranked in terms of strength? I would assume the Pac 10 and Big Ten are pretty low, but I dunno.
-
What in gods name is that? What is wrong with the batmobile in comic books? That looks like something from Mad Max.

I'm glad that the rankings don't determine seeding. Let me ask you this. Does a team's win/loss record determine seeding as well or will they also look at ALL factors that go into this? Because I mean you get a 4 or 5 loss Wake or UNC team that spent the better part of the season grinding it out on the road in the ACC against a 2 loss let's say Bama team(i don't know bama's actual win/loss record but this is just for example) I'm pretty sure UNC and Wake are better than that team but the win/loss doesn't reflect it b/c they were on the road in the ACC. Will the selection committee take that into consideration? Or would they rank the 2 loss team higher?
-
I never get College B-Ball ratings. OU pounds UConn.....UConn remains ranked high and above OU. I guess the rankings don't matter as much in the end as they do in College FB but I mean they still matter for seeding and such.
-
Well I still don't buy us as a great road team even after schooling A&M. I mean remember what happened at Baylor? Basically I think we are good. I think we are Top 25 material. Not so sure about Top 15 material. I do see a Sweet Sixteen for us but not farther. I see us protecting home court. But I see us losing in Austin, Stillwater, and Lawrence. Maybe just maybe we will win one of those games. But I will reserve judgement and see how we play in those games. Because this basketball team always finds a way to dissapoint me. With the football team it's like "Hey they're good! They're the best! No wait......dammit. Damn you all! They're still pretty good though...." with the basketball team it's like "They suck.....hey they're winning......hey they might go far....no they suck again." To long of a season. To many ups and downs! Haha. But seriously I think we're better than we get credit for but not better than OSU, Texas, or Kansas. And on top of that I really really think Terrell Everett needs to calm his ass down when we get behind b/c he lost that game to Duke. And I would like a rematch with the Blue Devils.
-
And I'm going to the OU/Texas game this weekend. Like I said before. We can protect home court and we're going to fuck those biotchs up......I hope.
-
Man OU won on the road......I guess the Baylor game was an abberation. The sad thing about the OU/Duke game was that OU could've won. They had the perfect plan. They just fed it to Gray or Bookout inside and they schooled Duke on the inside. Then what happens in the second half? It works and then suddenly Duke gets a little hot as they will and Terrell Everett goes "I MUST SAVE THE DAY" and goes nuts thinking he's Michael Jordan and totally fucks the game up!
-
Holy fuck the Mavs just put up 71 first half points. Just imagine if that team could play defense like the best in the league and still play offense like they do now? They'd be unstoppable.

HarleyQuinn that's about the dumbest thing I've ever read. So because I don't live in Philly and don't have relatives that like the team I'm not a fan? That's bullshit plain and simple. I'm a fan b/c that's the team I cheer for. It's the team I pick to win above all else. It's the team I want to see win the championship every year. It's the team I go out of my way to watch. It's the team that I always root to do the best and get the best players. It's the team that I stick by when they are down. That's what a fan is. Being a fan has nothing to do with geographic location like you guys want to break it down. Don't insult me with that bullshit HarleyQuinn.

I'm not speaking as a mod here, just as a poster. Shut the hell up with the Eagles. If you've lived and died with Philadelphia sports, maybe that gives you the right to say "we." If you've endured years with Tyler Green on the mound, an 18 win Sixers season, and countless losses in various conference finals, then maybe you can say "we" in regards to a Philly team. But coming from a fair-weather fan in Oklahoma, its intolerable. I'm not a fair weather fan at all. I just mentioned I liked them in the early 90's more fairweather but then I quit watching football for a while and when I came back the only team I could see or think of was Philly. If Philly loses in the title game again this year I will back them. If they go 2-14 next season I will back them. They are my team and nothing is going to change that. So I will not shut the hell up. That is my favorite team and will be from now on. I'm sorry I don't have the luxury of living in Philly....hell that's not a luxury. I'd rather be where I'm at right now. But I still like the Eagles and that won't be changed no matter how much you guys try to make me stop. I'm Eagles now and Eagles from now on. And I could care less about Philly basketball and baseball. I like The Celtics and Red Sox. Sorry but I see teams. Not cities. If I lived in Dallas I would still hate the Cowboys and love the Eagles. If I lived in Philly I would still wear Celtics shirts and Red Sox hats. And there's really not a damn thing you can do about it to be honest. And if you persist on telling me that I'm a fairweather fan you're just going to be more and more wrong.

Conference Championship Prediction Thread

If you followed Philly sports, the reaction would make sense, in its own twisted way. The fans around here are quite impatient for results. Well I don't live in Philly so I guess it's a little bit foreign to me. Then again there are fans in Oklahoma crying for Bob Stoops firing right now so I understand the impatient fans bit. -
This is all going to change once they go to the Combine right? I mean I'd think David Pollack would go to the Combine and put up huge numbers because he's a hoss and then he'd move up. I'm surprised he doesn't have Mark Clayton in the First Round anymore though. I mean yeah the Orange Bowl sucked for that whole team but he still has Dan Cody in the Top 10. The same Dan Cody that quit halfway through the game and was saying he wanted to go home at halftime. Yeah I want that guy on my team! Such intensity!

Why would you call for Reid's firing? I mean the guy is a good coach. Yeah they lost the title game 3 years in a row but they still go there! What are they going to do? Fire him for a coach that won't even get them in the playoffs? That makes as much sense as Nebraska firing Solich. -

I just don't understand all this "The eagles will see ghosts!" bullshit. They are a confident enough team this year that they are not going to worry about the past 3 years. The entire team is better and even without TO they are still better than they were the previous 3 years. McNabb isn't going to throw one pick and go "OH MY GOD IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN!!!!" and just shut down like everyone seems to be thinking he is. -
The only thing I don't like about Tom Brady is all of the "He's so cute and GQ!" shit. The guys a football player for gods sake! He's not supposed to be pretty! Joe Montana wasn't pretty! *this post is sort of in jest*

Well losing in Austin isn't really a big shame. They have won there last 40 out of 41 and did have the nations longest home winning streak....until OSU came to town last year. I think that the Big XII will get one Final Four represenative. They always do.....then that team either chokes or is outright beaten. Just as long as we don't have a 1988 repeat(OU vs. Kansas) where two teams from the Big XII who have already played 3 times battle it out for the title. OU is playing Texas A&M tonight at A&M. What a turnaround for A&M? They were like 0-13 in conference play last season and now they're like 10-1? I fully expect them to beat OU tonight. I think OU has a chance to protect home court most of the way but they aren't very good on the road. I mean they almost lost to Baylor in Waco. Although Taj Gray is a beast and I'm glad we have him.

Because everything that New england is good at, Atlanta's defense excels at stopping. because New England is 5-8 when facing an opposing QB for the first time under Bill, and facing Vick for the first time is no easy task. Because Atlanta has a three headed running force that gives you three different looks, and have a defense and special teams that can give them good field position to use it. I would still pick the Pats, but if Atlanta beat them, I wouldn't be suprised. And once again....11-3 this year with him as a starter. That shit isn't a fluke. I find it funny that STILL people are saying dude isn't that good. I bet if he wins the super bowl Dama will still be inhere suggesting that he sucks. I won't say he sucks but I still wouldn't believe him to be as good as hyped. Because right now he's hyped at this amazing super man that defies all logic and wins games single handedly. Yes the Falcons are better with him. Yes he is a good playmaker. Is he one of the best QB's in the league? Not a chance. Listening to the hype you'd think the guy has one a super bowl and had an undefeated season every year that he plays. And I think the Pats defense will handle him fine. Hell the Eagles D will handle him just find. I want to see Jevon Kearse jump his ass from behind and cause a fumble which is very likely to happen since he seems to have trouble holding onto that ball.
-
Well it's not like we start a conversation with "Did you see how we did last night?" We start off so that people know what we're talking about. Like if I were talking about the Eagles I'd just say "Did you see that Eagles game last night? We really took it to Green Bay." as opposed to just saying "Did you see what we did last night?"
-
Well it's stupid to jump on the guy b/c he had one bad game. I mean he is a rookie. And he has been put in a spot most rookies aren't. He's the starter of a Super Bowl caliber team that has won 15 straight games. And winning 15 straight isn't easy so you aren't going to get the best out of everyone all 15 games. I still said during the draft I thought he would be better than Manning. I remember asking during the Top 10: Why hasn't anyone drafted Big Ben yet? So I'm happy for the guy. I really am. But I don't think he's super man. And I think that's what a lot of the people on the Steel Bandwagon thought. Now before you start accusing me of being a bandwagoner I'm not saying I'm a fan of the Steelers or anything. It's just I'm happy for Big Ben.
-
I want the Eagles in the Super Bowl more than anything else. But if they didn't make it I'm glad it's the Falcons going just so that the monster defenses at either NE or Pitt can tear his ass apart and just make him look foolish. I especially wanna see Bruschi chase his ass down.
