Hey USC is where they're at by winning. They're undefeated in a major conference. Of course they're good. The OU players think they may smear USC but I am with the USC players in thinking it's going to be a close game. However me and you are the only ones that give OU credit in this folder so that's why I'm talking them up so much more. Everyone gives USC all the credit and seems to think they're going to handle business easily when that is just not the case. So USC has the tools to win obviously. The special teams of USC totally blows OU's special teams out of the water. It's not even close on that front.

It's statements like that that make me shake my head. I assume it means that OU is in a better position to give White and Peterson all the protection while he apparently seems to think the OU D will smear Leinart and Bush in the turf. Me and Slasher Flick should be natural enemies. But he's the only one that understands what I'm saying. You have it correct Slasher. That is what I meant. USC's defensive line doesn't really bother me though b/c OU has handled every defensive line they've faced. However I may have to retract my statement on USC's offensive line b/c well they have protected Leinart well this season. So that'll make it interesting to see if OU's defensive line can bring the pressure. But honestly I think OU's O-Line can handle USC's D-line.
-
No what I'm saying is serious. OU has the best offensive line in the country. USC does not. So that's why I think OU's O-Line will handle USC's D-Line and I don't think USC's O-Line will handle OU's D-Line as well as OU's O-Line is going to do things. If it comes down to a battle of the O and D Lines then OU has the clear advantage. It's that simple.
-
Hey I just want everyone to know the strengths of my team. On top of that I think they have like 39 sacks on the season. How many times has Leinart been sacked? He may not be used to the pressure. You could say the same about Jason White. USC's D-line has been even better than that with 46 sacks. That's the battle that will be the most interesting to watch. Yeah but I think OU's O-Line is better than USC's defensive line whereas OU's D-Line may have the advantage.

I don't think this will be the high scoring shootout everyone thinks it is. I think the D on both teams will step it up. It may be a 28-21 type game.

Yeah but OU's recievers can run and throw too. OU's got some trick plays. Remember that. Mark Bradley has rushed a TD and thrown one I believe. Mark Clayton can throw and do the Wide Reciever sweep as well. Kejuan Jones can recieve as well.

Why are we the Rams? They're ranked #1 and won the title last year. We're the underdogs!

OU's gonna key on him as well. He's what's dangerous. The problem is that OU really just has to look at Leinart, Bush, and Jarrett to bust big plays on them. But USC has to watch White, Peterson, and about 4 wide recievers. Whatever happens it's going to be good. Hell if we lose a close game, but a great game, I'll be dissapointed but not furious if we play our best. There's a difference in attitude too. I dunno if it's a good thing for us or not. But USC's players are nothing but complimentary of OU's players and are saying "It's going to be close but we'll win." OU however is not that complimentary of USC(remember what Birdine said about Leinart?) and are saying "It'll be a blowout. We're going to wipe the field with them." I dunno if it's a good thing to have that attitude or not. It shows confidence but it also shows cockiness which is a dagger in the heart for a lot of teams, including OU as seen last year. Basically I wish they'd all shut their mouths and focus. Let the fans do the talking guys. You play the game. Oh if this were wrestling or a movie who would be the heels? I just have a feeling OU is the heel team always. But I don't know why.

I don't think they'd risk a national title just so Peterson is comfortable next year. They're going to do what they've done all season. They'll run Peterson and test the waters and if he can't get anything going then White will go nuts with Clayton, Bradley, Wilson, Peoples, and Jones. Seriously I don't think any QB has as great of a recieving core to throw to as Jason White does. And that's another problem I saw that USC will have. All of OU's recievers are bigger than USC's DB's and Clayton may be faster than all of them. So they'd better hope they don't get 1 on 1 with any of OU's recievers deep. If Leinart can repeatedly air it out long not in the direction of Antonio Perkins then they'll definitely do good on offense. But I do not think USC will win this game running the ball.

Ok the game is 3 days away. Let's open that Orange Bowl thread back up. I think it's time to talk about the game. Me and Slasher can have some good convo on this since we're both giving the other team credit. USC hasn't seen a team this physical but I dunno if OU has seen an offense like this. So it should be good. I've seen some good analysis from everyone and I've calmed down a lot and am ready to speak rationally about the game. I'm not going to blow up or anything. Unshackle me! Oh and what do you mean about the Cal/Tech game? What does that have to do with the Orange Bowl?
-
A lot of his runs were on busted plays. That was impressive. Especially the run he made where he was getting sacked and he just broke lose and took it in. I'm still trying to figure out where the Texas D went in this game. Everyone thought that was what was going to win the game for Texas and the defense turned out to nearly kill them.
-
No way OU doesn't win both polls when they win on Tuesday. This analysis of the Orange Bowl is confusing me. Before the hype of the week all the ESPN guys and sports writers could talk about was how USC was going to win a close game. Now they've all changed their tune and are saying that OU is to physical for USC and that OU will win. Why the sudden change in attitude? Why can't they make up their mind?
-
Well Utah did it and I'm happy for them. That was a dream season for them and I honestly don't think they'll repeat it with Meyer leaving. But I can say they were good and made it look easy out there.

The game was great. It had me jacked up. Excuse me for liking my football and getting emotionally involved in it. I think everybody should get as emotionally involved in a good game. You're still new to sports. Give it another decade of watching and you'll start to understand it better once the rivalry has been bred into you more. If the rivalry won't allow me to get this into a game then I don't want to have it bred into me. Of course I was literally on the verge of puking during the Red River Shootout, the OSU game, and the A&M game this season so I am emotionally invested in my team.

To ME it's "my conference is better than yours". My allegiance is to OU above all else. Then if OU is not available it's to state schools(OSU and Tulsa). If those schools aren't available I'll take a Big XII school. And if those schools aren't available then I'll do what any sane fan does when their teams aren't available. Root for the team you like better. Ok seriously. I never got that. My friend got onto me today for rooting for Wisconsin today over Georgia b/c I wasn't a fan of either team. Well if I'm watching the game I have to root for somebody don't I?
-
I think Utah could win a BCS conference. I think they're that good. I think they could do great in a bigger conference. I mean what if they decided to expand all conferences to have a conference title game? The Pac-10 could take Utah and......someone.....and I think Utah would have a good chance at the conference, at least second to SC. Well maybe not now without Urban Meyer.
-
There is nothing wrong with cheering for someone in your conference in bowl season. And if you're questioning my allegiance to OU then you must seriously not pay attention. Now back to this game......Utah just makes it look so easy. Like seriously they just seem unstoppable sometimes.
-
Well his whining was obviously justified this year b/c they won and Cal got embarassed.
-
OU is losing 18 seniors including there QB, most of the recieving core, and most of the offensive line. I think Texas has a shot next year. I'm just trying to be realistic.
-
Everyone has told me that the Big XII is down and the 2 and 3 teams from the SEC and Pac 10 could beat the 1 and 2 teams from the Big XII. And of course we know how everyone feels about OU. So there you go. It's happened all season. You wanted to know. That's not being anti-Big XII. That'd called thinking the conference wasn't that good this year. I thought the Big Ten was down this year and it's my conference. And the Big Ten obviously wasn't down this year b/c they've been cleaning up in bowl season just like the Big XII wasn't as bad as everyone says it is.
-
I don't like having to root for Texas but if using Texas to further my own means gets me where I need to be then so be it. Texas losing one game makes OU look great b/c OU usually embarasses them. You just said you were rooting for the SEC teams anyways. My take on it is when you come to bowl season you want your conference to win. But during conference play you want just your team to win.

They have to make the conference look good. Because when the conference looks good, my team looks good. So it's not that I'm paticuarly rooting for Texas b/c I like Texas. I'm rooting for Texas b/c if they do good OU looks that much better for shutting them out. I don't really see how my logic on that is wrong. You want your team to look good right? I mean say Tennessee went undefeated in the SEC and blew all of their opponents out. Then the SEC went undefeated in the bowl season and blew all of their opponents out. Doesn't that make your team look better? Wouldn't you like that Kotz?
