    The Sonics' Pending Move

And why is that? Because I'm happy the Sonics are coming? Does that mean I have to become a Sonics fan? I don't think so. I can just go to enjoy basketball. NBA games are fun to watch, and I'll be going to enjoy a basketball game. I'll also definitely go when the Celtics come to town and be front and center in my Celtics gear.

Ever felt like you just can't get the right job?

Well, I got the job at Enterprise. I've worked 2 days and I'm enjoying it a lot. My boss is a little bit money grubbing, but I'll deal with it. The beauty of this company is you get transferred throughout the city often, so if you hate your boss you really don't have to work with him all that much!

    The Sonics' Pending Move

Man, so much venom directed at OKC. I love the completely wrong assumption that all NBA players will hate it here and want to leave immediately.

    The Sonics' Pending Move

There Bennett just said he has reserved the colors and name for a future team in Seattle. He also said they'd leave the original banners and championship trophy behind too. But, he said OKC will have all the Sonics records and will keep them. But, if a team moves into Seattle they can have the records too. I hope if that happens then OKC drops the history.

    The Sonics' Pending Move

Wow, the Seattle fans on ESPN.com are downright nasty. I'm getting tired of people blaming the city as if we're to fault here. Whatever, we showed we're an NBA city already and we'll keep proving it. Also, I love how the people at ESPN's comment boards make things up. One guy said the Hornets did nothing but complain about OKC. HA! The Hornets loved it here and they'll still say it to this day if asked. Chris Paul always talks about how much he liked OKC. Oh and an official from the Hornets called the radio today to congratulate OKC and talk about how much we deserve this.

    Wanted

Ok, so I just read the plot on Wikipedia, and this sounds like a cool movie if it wasn't called Wanted. I know that nothing is every completely the same as a comic or a book, but this is NOTHING like the comic. The only thing it shares is the name and the name of the main character. I mean seriously, what the fuck? That's why I'm opposed to it. I know changes happen from print to big screen, but this is a completely different story.

Wow, I thought Davis was saying. And I thought everyone was sure that Artest was on the move.

I'm shocked he didn't try and get you to reserve a game on your way out.

See, but you say mediocre as if it were fact. I didn't think it was mediocre at all. I thought it was great.

    Wanted

That was there opinion, I liked it a lot. I wanted to see it eventually made into a movie but now this thing has ruined that ever happening.

Here's my movie snob and his other snob friends (the chick is my friends gf and that's how the movie snob came to be in our group). Well actually they're really snobs with everything: music, movies, art. But, a lot of the time they talk about it like they just want to sound smart. Like if they start talking about how much better this movie is they'll sound smart or if they start describing what makes this thing a good piece of art. The reason I say this is because they try to interject themselves into any conversation about anything. Like when I'm talking about sports and one of them will try to jump in and just start talking about it and expounding on a point using word of the day calendar words. Anyway here: You can tell how deep they are by their facial expressions and the fact the photo has been photoshopped to look deep. The one in the middle once told me movies shouldn't be made for entertainment. They should all be meant to convey a message and to teach us something.

Well I guess that's your opinion. I was entertained by the movie and I've watched it several times on video since then.

How is a "high movie-snob standard"? I'd really like to hear you explain this one Dama. I'm just talking about everyone piling on like it was supposed to be a work of art. And I really didn't see much trouble with the dialogue. And I don't get the LaBeouf(or however it's spelled) hate either. Just seems like people were expecting something that was going to win a film festival. I saw plenty of giant robots beating on each other. My appetite was sated.

I'm not anti-snob. I just don't like being told that I have to hate a movie I liked because it didn't meet some impossibly high standard.

Everyone bashing on Transformers in the movie forum reminded me of something else that annoys me: movie snobs. My friend met this other guy that's started hanging out with us sometimes that's just a huge movie snob. If it makes money then he hates it because the masses don't understand what a good movie is and if they're paying that much to watch it then it must suck. IMO movies are subjective. What you like someone else may not like. But, he's one of those guys that's like "No this movie sucks end of story. This movie was a piece of art. If you can't see it then you're an idiot." I hate that.

Wow lot of hate here. I really liked Transformers. Then again I don't hold incredibly high movie-snob standards for summer popcorn flicks.

    Wall-E

I enjoyed this movie a ton. I felt sorry for Wall-E a lot though. That damn robot sure could look sad. Did anyone else like the short film before it? My favorite is still the one on another planet where the little chick looking things eat the warlords and then the alien sings WAR. But, the rabbit thing was pretty funny. Oh and did anyone have a preview for Beverly Hills Chihuhua? My mom has 4 Chihuhuas and I have 1. So you'd think I'd like anything involving them, not so much. It looks damn stupid.

    Wanted

After reading the Wanted comic series I have absolutely no interest in this at all. The only thing it shares with the real Wanted is the name. Mark Millar will do anything for money.

    The Damaramu Gym-o-Rama

You said the run/walk thing is good. What about a straight walk? What if I walked for 45 minutes. Obviously it wouldn't help my cardio as much as running, but I heard it's a good way to burn fat. Usually on the three days a week that I lift I find myself too exhausted to go for a run. So I usually put it on a walking speed and walk for 20-30 minutes. Sometimes I turn the incline on to get a good burn while I'm walking, and sometimes that gets my heart rate going as much as running. Oh and on the subject of calories. You say you don't want to starve your body of calories, but what if you eat a lot of vegetables? I know they have some calories but obviously not as much as a sandwich or meat. My gf's grandma grows squash and zucchini and she brought some home and it's excellent. I was going to have some steamed squash and zucchini for lunch tomorrow. But if it becomes a habit to eat spinach, squash, zucchini, broccoli, carrots, or green beans for lunch (those are the only vegetables i like) then I probably won't be taking in too many calories.

I feel the same way about memorials on rear windshields You beat me to it. That shit is pretty embarrassing if you ask me. Everytime I see one I just think "he died dealing drugs or in some gang related accident". That's probably wrong and completely douche-baggy of me, but whatever. I'm starting to agree with the Tapout shirt sentiment. I was at Buffalo Wild Wings last night and there were a ton of guys wearing them and it was always the same damn guy. Frat-boyish guy that's muscular and wearing it waaaay too tight, and he's got his hat on in some stupid way. Seriously I understand it's a sports clothing brand, like Nike or Adidas, but at least different kinds of people wear those. I really only ever see one guy wearing a Tapout shirt. I also picture these guys being the kind that took one BJJ class and now they think they're a tough guy or they think they can fight because they watch UFC. Reminds me of the kid in Elementary School that told everyone he was great at karate because he watched Power Rangers and played Mortal Kombat.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

Are there any New Zealanders on the board? I think Rugby Union is done differently there than in Europe. All European sports seem to follow the same format. But in NZ they have the Air New Zealand Cup, then they have players from designated provinces drawn for the Super 14 and then they have the national team the All-Blacks. What I'm wondering is if any members of the All-Blacks compete in the Air NZ cup? Tri-Nations occurs when the Air NZ is being contested. I know some of them play in Super 14, but I'm wondering if when you become an All-Black you graduate beyond Air NZ and no longer need or are allowed to compete in it. I heard some of them still compete with clubs when they are allowed to or the coach deems it necessary for their development. Just another difference in international sports that confuses me. I can't fathom someone being selected to USA Basketball and then only showing up for their NBA team sporadically or when the USA coach allows it. Then again, America seems to be the only country in the world where things are done so much differently. Then again, we do everything differently.

I'll give that a shot. I usually alternate paces. I'll go at an 8:00 pace and then switch to a 15:00 pace to walk and go back and forth. I run the 8:00 pace for 8 minutes but then I start my switching. Maybe I can maintain a 10:00 pace for a lot longer. It's funny though because it takes me a while to get running. My gf can get it on 5.5 (the speed setting) and be running on the treadmill. I go to 5.5 and it's a fast walk. Damn long legs.

    The Damaramu Gym-o-Rama

Well, when you're kind of pudgy and out of shape it's a good time. I think a 10 minute mile is about average. I'm sure people that run a lot think it's not much. But, I mean it's not like it took me 10 minutes for each mile. It actually took me 8 to run my first mile. Then 10 to run the second. Then like 12 or 13 to run the third and so on. As I went my stamina and gas tank got a little bit lower and the miles started taking longer and longer. Thing is my lungs usually don't give out before my legs do. My legs start burning and my ankles and calves are on fire and that's usually why I stop to walk. But I see the difference in my cardio. A month ago it took me like 10 minutes to get that first mile. Now it's only taking 8.
