...this is fabulous news. I thought that had become common knowledge around here by now.
-
Before anyone goes "You're called JR because you love the Sooners and so does Jim Ross! Haha!" you're wrong. J.R. actually is my real name.
-
Nah I picked Army. Cool name and ranked 116 out of 117. I've got some working up to do here.......
-
Jesus....I just watched it and what a bunch of fuckwads. The only people I can even see myself getting along with is that asian chick, the art guy, and Jacques or whatever his name is. They all seem pretty cool...the rest though......ugh....... Especially Cameron. Man she just seems like she's going to be the slut of the house. Especially when she's basically begging Brad to break up with his girlfriend. But it looks like there's going to be some fights and some arrests. Did that one chick...the coyote ugly chick get arrested for pushing that cop?

Like I said.....I like the Red Sox but I'd hate to live in Boston. Any riots?

Well I won the National Title with OU pretty easily. I've been playing this game for a while on easy and I've gotten better. So I think it's time I went to the next level. I'm going to play on Varsity now. Now I must find a crappy team.....I guess I'll do Army....though there has to be crappier ones.
-
I don't know much about Baseball. Who's Joe Jackson and what did he do?
-
Hmm....well......I'm starting a new season on Varsity level. I'm keeping the Sooners season around(i am in the national title game..gotta win that now) but I want to try something more challenging. I want to build a team from the ground up. I can't decide between The Army Black Knights or Notre Dame.

OU's second half performance on D was good, although it takes a little shine off of that accomplishment when you realize that LSU's offense is flaky at best. Whenever they were up against a quality team like Florida, Georgia, or Ole Miss this season, they had trouble getting started offensively. The only one of those games to really break open was the second Georgia game, as LSU took over early after a Georgia turnover and never looked back. The other games were tight throughout and completely saved by LSU's defense. As for OU's offense, it certainly picked up in the fourth quarter much like Ole Miss and Eli Manning did earlier this year. At the end of the day, though, the LSU defense stopped hard drives to seal the game. The thing that perplexed me the most was this....... LSU's defense was starting to get a little gassed and they were becoming a little unable to stop the running game. As a matter of fact OU made it all the way down the field off the runs that Jones made. However when the game is on the line what do they do? They throw it 4 straight times. That was a very poor decision. Because I think it they'd made that TD they could've won overtime. There defense had been able to stop LSU from sniffing the endzone. They could've shut them down and then probably made it to the endzone off the run themselves and won the damn game. That was a very poor coaching decision. A reason why Saban outcoached Stoops that night. But knowing the poor decisions they would've made the TD and tried to end it there with a 2-pt conversion.....and failed. Well Stoops admitted that LSU was the best defense he's face since he started coaching. Which brings me to another secret of beating OU. Get ahead on them. People call them "The Mighty Sooners" because well they are like a Mighty Giant that crushes everything. But that giant doesn't know pain. And when it feels pain it curls up and dies. Think of it. The 2 games where the Sooners have really been down this year they have failed to perform. That's one of the tricks to beating OU.....get ahead of them and they die.

And on a serious note...I think I figured out the Agnes joke. He's a legendary dickweed so everyone hates him but clamors for his return as a joke!?

So...the person would travel back in time...but be completely intangible and mute? What would even be the point, then? And if you were completely intangible, wouldn't you fall to the center of the earth? I generally don't buy time travel, on the simple basis that time is a conception of man; It's only measurable by things we made up, like hours and minutes. I don't think it's something you can interact with - I mean, space is just a lot of nothing, but it's still something you can interact with. You can look up into the sky and see it. If you had enough cash, you could fly into it. Time is nothing. It's just something we dreamed up to explain why right now isn't right then, methinks. *MIND BLOWS* You think that's confusing consider the center of a black hole. It has something like 100x the mass of the sun yet it's nothing. Nothing. Can you fathom nothing? Don't point at the air and say "Nothing" because that's something. It's got molecules in it. Kind of hard to fathom nothing........isn't it?

There may have been assorted fights or some objects thrown at the OU team if they were taunting, but there would not have been a full-scale riot. LSU's fans have a nasty reputation but seem to be on the way to recovery. I think they also wouldn't want to take a VERY public opportunity to get painted with the same brush as West Virginia's fans, who burn couches when they win a big game or have a near-miss against then-#2 Miami. It's good to talk to a reasonable LSU fan about this game. Since I've heard all the insight from Sooner fans I can take. What did you think of OU's second half performance? Defensively that is. Because LSU couldn't even get a first down in the second half. I believe this game was won by LSU's defense. Do you agree? Oh and.........what'd you think about that kid from LSU getting Tommy Harris's autograph? I thought it was kind of cool but I figured the kid believed Harris would be a big time NFL player one day so he wanted to say he beat Harris and got his autograph.

WWE Smackdown Rating Drops Big On New Years
Damaramu replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Well the Rose Bowl drew a pretty gigantic number. So much that I even forgot about SD! while I was watching it. -
I meant at Evolution. You can bet I'll be at TSM until they claw the keyboard out of my cold dead hands.
-
I missed that part. Are you trying to imply that the Yanks put effort into the Series this year? Or are you just saying that in general? I think a team that makes it to the top and then doesn't give a damn or try is worse than a team that goes loses more than they win.
-
So then Teke what do you think would've happened had OU won that game? Or more importantly.....what if OU had totally dominated that game? Do you think there would've been a riot? And yes one of the reasons I root for the Sooners is because I go to that school. If I didn't I would probably hate them. I have a weird history in sports of hating anyone that is the best. Yes they weren't the best this year but they certainly looked like it during the season. I probably would've been like "Damn those Sooners won again!" and then after they lost to K-State I would've been like "HAHA! Take that fuckers!" It's just how I've always been. If I didn't go to OU I'd probably root for a team that can almost win but doesn't do it. Like Oklahoma Stare or Kansas State.

What? Another board? After the colossal amount of non-discussion that went on at UGS I've decided to abstain from posting here.

I thought that game was on Saturday. Oh well.....I don't really follow basketball like I do football. *edit* Ah it isn't until Saturday.......
-
Exactly. Turn on the championship game and leave it at that. I love the season. I loved the Sooners this season. After they lost to K-State I still loved them and wanted to see if they'd win the championship. Well they came up short. But you know what? I still like them and I am still going to watch them play next year and root that they make it all the way. Hell if anything that KSU game just guranteed immediate big ratings for the rematch during regular season play next year. And if I'm not on the team by then it guranteed me buying a ticket and going to Kansas to watch that game. And I will be watching LSU very closely next season. That was a DAMN good team and I want to see if they make it next year as well.
-
The Eagles are my favorite team...but I do love those Packers............argh! Can I just pick who's winning half way through? The way I'm looking at the Super Bowl this year is: I don't care who from the NFC goes as long as it's not The Rams. I don't care who from the AFC goes as long as it's not The Patriots. I'm sold on The Rams not going......but those damn Pats will probably win it.

One time I was out at the lake playing horshoe's and this big guy walked up and was like "Hey man can I play with you." and I was like "Sure." We hit it off and had a few beers and then sung songs by the campfire. When I asked the mysterious stranger his name he said "TheSmartMarks MB".....I'll never forget that day. It was my first(and only) homosexual experience............*sigh*
-
Oh yeah...I've heard numerous reports that the LSU fans were acting like drunken ruffians after the Sugar Bowl. Imagine what they would've done had LSU lost....there would've been a riot. They did have cops escort the Sooners off the field after the game though.....I guess to keep the fisticuffs down......... Funny thing......an LSU lineman asked for Tommy Harris's autograph. Tommy laughed and signed the guys National Championship hat. So I doubt there was going to be any fisticuffs. From what I understand they were depressed but the Sooners have taken the loss very well. They're just like "Ah well....we got beat. There is always next year." Good sportsmen.

Hey the Tigers did good. And they actually remind me of the Sooners in 2000. They weren't much for years(though I don't know if the Tigers were as bad as OU was in the 90's....any 2-10 or 4-8 seasons recently?) and then they got a great coach and came up and won the championship. They went against a team that was considered the best(OU went against Florida State in 2000 and had the better record but nobody gave them a chance in that game) and they were the underdog in that game(let's face it...the general media and public didn't give LSU a hope in hell of winning that game) and then just dominated the game(sure they didn't dominate the second half but they walked all over the Sooners during the first half) to win the national championship. The parallel is there. So if LSU follows the same pattern next year as OU did after winning the championship then they will have 2 good season where they go 12-2 and win their bowl game before returning to the national title game to lose to the underdog. Get ready for 2006 Teke...you're going for it again. And yes.........I think it was just that OU got good so fast that people were shocked and threw all of their faith into them and then when they finally lost the big game(after winning the big game 3 years in a row)the fans turned on them. They aren't used to failure. Even though OU went 12-2 the past 2 seasons...but they still won their bowl game. People can't handle the failure this year. I think the media jumping the gun and calling them the best team ever didn't help matters either.

Oh god I can't imagine what it's like to be a Red Sox fan and live in the area. Jesus. Well I am a Red Sox fan...but I don't live in Boston obviously.

Yeah he appealed b/c he was injured so much last season...so he's back. He played less than 25% of the season so he's still eligible.
