David Stern's comments about the Sonics deal is amusing me. He's basically telling the government in Seattle to suck it up or they'll never get a team. I take it they're pissing him off with all the litigation.

I think that's how it is every season though. I mean you fight on a crazy schedule so you don't have your normal month or whatever to get ready for a fight. Yeah he shouldn't have worked the day before but you also don't have time to be kicking back and taking it easy 3-5 days before a fight. He has mastered the Tito Ortiz backhanded "this is not an excuse" where he lays out all the reasons he lost then claims they aren't an excuse after throwing them all out there and putting them in your head.

Yeah he's pretty damn irritating. Kiper is the worst IMO. I like McShay infinitely better because he doesn't get all indignant and angry when someone dares to disagree with him.

So, what does everyone think of the draft this Saturday? The media keeps bashing it as a crappy draft saying there aren't a lot of top level players in there. Of course there's always the surprises so I don't know how they can make that claim. I guess because they don't have a ton of names to tout. This'll be my first year having the NFL network which I hear has vastly superior draft coverage.

Why is it that everyone has an excuse for losing on this show? It's never that the other guy was better, it's "Well I would've won but X, Y and Z prevented me from winning!"

That's another reason I'd never get used to LA. 20-30 minutes is considered close by. Where I'm from that's a day trip. The traffic in OKC is not that hard to manage to say the least. That and the city's so spread out that everything you need is close by because there's 30 of the same store or restaurant everywhere. Anyway, what team would they put in LA?

Good thing they don't have a ripped or buff option. All those guys would go with that. What I hate about myspace is the white kids with their hats on sideways and their chin straps throwing up a peace sign with the absolute worse slang written across their page. And of course you can tell they live in a nice house and they talk about being ghetto and shit.

I remarked to my fiance "Dolce sure does talk a lot of shit for a guy that's getting his ass kicked." They kept showing how stupid Taylor was, but they repeatedly showed Dolce talking shit. I felt bad for the herpes dude, but I'm sure he could get a job as a wrestling coach somewhere again. His crying that he had nothing now was kind of annoying. Not like he can't get some temporary job to support himself while he tries to get back into coaching or fighting. I mean, I guess it's upsetting but seriously dude; it's not like Dana just told you to go live on the street. I'm sure he has family to stay with too. I'm hoping Rampage's guys do well. I like Rampage a lot(he's quickly become one of my favorite fighters) and I don't want him to end up looking like Ken Shamrock as a coach. I wonder where the heat between he and Forrest comes from? They seem to be getting along fine right now.

Oh man....it's still not over. I'll just sleep throughout tomorrow until it's ready.

I'm actually kind of relieved we can finally play the playoffs. I was getting tired of the shuffle in the West and all that. Everyday it was a new playoff scenario.

That seems to be all the kids think are funny these days. I was making quoting Major League at a high school baseball game the other day and the teachers and older people in the press box were laughing and quoting the movie too. The two high school students were just kind of staring at us and then one said "Those movies weren't funny." How could you not like Major League!? We need more movies like that.

I think Lebron is good but I don't think he's as good as he's hyped to be. Plus he gets a lot of calls so that kind of helps that point total. And I don't really see all the media hype for the Suns you do alf. I really don't. Oh well, whatever. People tried to discount the MVP when Nash won it and now they're trying to pump it up again since Kobe's winning it. Whatever. I'm with King. Let's just play some basketball and see who wins the championship. Whatever. May the best team win. If it's the Lakers then so be it. They've been the best plenty of other times, I'll live.

Most hardcore NBA fans love the Spurs and Pistons. You're not an anti-NBA fan, you're an irrational NBA fan. How exactly does that make me irrational? Because they aren't the "sexy teams" or whatever? Because I don't care about ratings? This isn't the WWE. The best teams win and move forward, not who draws the most. I'm just a little confused about what's so irrational about that. I don't like Kobe Bryant or Lebron James. I don't like their teams or the hype that surrounds them. I like the Boston Celtics. I like Tim Duncan. I like Steve Nash. I like the Pistons starting 5. Seeing them all play each other would entertain me. Seeing the others wouldn't entertain me. I don't see what's so irrational about that either.

I don't care if he wins it or not. He'll still have one less than Steve Nash(which makes me laugh). I really don't know if I can bring myself to watch the NBA Finals if the Lakers are in it. I'm praying for a Suns/Spurs vs. Pistons/Celtics series. Any combination of that would have me glued to the TV for every minute of every game. Anything else would draw a big "eh" and anything involving Lebron or Kobe would probably warrant total non-watch from me. I guess I'm the anti-NBA fan because everyone goes on about how anything involving the Spurs or Pistons is death for ratings. I don't care about ratings. Those four teams are the most fun to watch for me, and the least offensive as far as insane one-player hype goes. Not to mention it's pretty annoying that ESPN has decided Kobe deserves the MVP. I hate it when they do that. They decide one player deserves an award and then hype it until they win it. Like with Bush and the Heisman. They did everything possible to push him in front of everyone. Now they've got Kobe for MVP stuff plastered all over their webpage. Jeez just write a column about how ESPN is sports and they have the only sports opinion that matters. That's what they really want to do. Chris Paul deserves it more than Kobe, but whatever. Can't fight the machine. I'm glad they finally figured out who they wanted to get behind though(for a while there they couldn't figure out if it was Kobe or Lebron they wanted to throw all their MVP hype into). I do like it when it backfires. Like when Steve Nash won it those two years. They were totally against him being MVP and were pushing hard for Shaq and Kobe. I wonder if Kornheiser or Wilbon get in trouble for not towing the company line as far as MVP goes. If they suddenly have a radical shift in opinion then you know they did. Too bad the teams at the bottom of the Western Conference aren't good enough to beat the Lakers. Seeing a Dirk exit would be hilarious. But, I'll settle for a WCF loss.

How does Kobe deserve MVP again? Didn't the Lakers turn it around after they got Gasol? Wouldn't Gasol be the MVP of that team? They got better when he joined them.

The last few European shows have been on PPV haven't they?

Well back when I was a big DBZ fan I wanted to take everyone at Funimation out back and shoot them. Not so elitist.....just wanting quality work done.

Did anyone see Maurice Jones Drew on NFL Live? He looked pretty nervous the whole time and he stumbled over some of his words at first. Wonder why he was being put on the show though? Do these guys that get on these shows while still playing have broadcast degrees or something?

It's kind of hard to win when you get called for a foul when you breath on the other teams star. Ok that's not fair, LeBron didn't get too many calls against then. '06 was still atrocious throughout the playoffs and finals though.
