    My new way of eating.

So I've been busting my ass in the gym and at rugby practice. But, I haven't seen any real significant changes in my body fat or any sort of muscular definition. Then I realized, it's probably what I'm eating. I read somewhere that your diet is 85% of your weightloss and fat loss. I've been filling myself with greasy food, processed foods and haven't been eating many veggies. So I did some research and decided the best eating plan for me was a modified paleo-diet. Anyone ever tried this? Mine's a mixture of a low-glycemic foods diet and paleo. Basically I have a list of foods I can eat because they're low in carbs and not processed. I also am avoiding any form of processed sugar. So basically all I eat now is meat, vegetables and fruit. And some dairy. It's kind of tough at first because bad food keeps calling to me. Food I never even ate before suddenly looks so good to me. But, when your dinner is a porkchop and a heap of broccoli and cauliflower I guess that happens. I'm just not used to eating this way. Anybody tried similar diets? Anybody lose weight and see the significant changes coming when you changed the way you eat? I'm still thinking about sneaking in a cheat meal once a week. Like maybe have a pizza during the Super Bowl or something. I don't know how much one meal is going to screw up any gains I make from basically eating clean all week. Any thoughts on cheat meals or days? I was told by someone at the Crossfit messageboards (good workout system, but those people are crazy) that cheating once a week basically makes a mediocre diet and I'm not helping myself. Then again, I don't see how I can't lose weight on this diet. Anything processed, anything high in carbs, anything with sugar in it (aside from natural sugar) has been completely cut out of my diet. How could you not lose weight eating like this?

Any TSMers in the Ft. Lauderdale/Orlando area?

Yeah I was planning on hitting it up VX, don't worry. I was just asking for more. I have a dude in my training class from Florida and he said in Miami you start to learn the neighborhoods you should and shouldn't be in. Is it really that bad?

    Cowboys release Terrell Owens

This is the second T.O being compared to a hot girl scenario I've heard in the last two days. Damn, gets a little disturbing to think of a female T.O.

    LOST

I'm wondering if maybe because the time skipping has stopped they're stuck where they are and can change things? I thought Faraday kind of alluded to that. Then again, Charlotte already knew he was the crazy man in her village. Damn I'm confused now.

    Great Unsolved Crimes or Events

Why does every alien abduction story involve little gray men with big eyes and fantastical Star Wars like technology? Also, why do Aliens never speak and why do they always want to experiment on us? And how are they all able to survive on our planet? Surely there aren't too many planets out there with the same mix of elements that Earth has. You're telling me that these creatures that have evolved beyond the point of speaking and are so smart they somehow figured out how to travel faster than light (because otherwise it'd take them a few hundred to thousand years to get here) need to experiment on humans to learn about us? They haven't figured anything out yet? They can't ask us quesitons civilly? They can't look through medical research with their super computers and brains? Sorry, but I've always been a UFO skeptic. I just don't think that there's beings out there that can travel faster than light and get here.

Any TSMers in the Ft. Lauderdale/Orlando area?

So what is there going to be to eat while we're there? Is there really a lot of good seafood or am I going to end up hitting up a bunch of chain restaurants like Chili's? Looks like my week has ended up like this. Thursday: arrive in Ft. Lauderdale and spend one night in the hotel Friday-Sunday: spend 2 nights and 3 days on a cruise Sunday-Wednesday: spend that time in Ft. Lauderdale hanging out Thursday-Friday: go to Orlando and Universal Studios. Because my father in law screwed up on our plane tickets drive ALL THE WAY back to Ft. Lauderdale to fly home. Sounds like a fun week. Just hoping there's plenty to do. My wife and I are kind of excited about the possibility of running and working out on the beach. Or will the beach be so crowded that's not possible?

Didn't WWE release an AWA DVD? What was it called? Is it still available out there?

This week in the NBA (Mar. 1-7)

Because in the past they've typically done very well without Garnett in the lineup. Until this injury I believe they were 5-0 without him. And if you watch the games they lost with him in there (especially that losing streak early in the season) they looked to have struggles with some good teams. When they got blown out by the Cavs in Cleveland was just bad. Yeah Garnett is going to cause some problems, but I don't think his absence is as big as you guys are making it out to be because of the fact they have done well without him in the past.

    LOST

I'm sure Faraday stayed on the island because of that scene from the season opener. But, I haven't seen Hanso in any of these scenes with Sawyer's crew or any other past flashes with Horace. I'm wondering if he's gone at this point? Now we've got a love square going on, interesting. Jin's english has gotten much better. I wonder what year Russo and her crew actually crashed? There's so much mystery around Richard and the Others still. You think it's all going to get explained when Jack ends up with Ben in the town, then you find out the Dharma Initiative was killed and you don't know anything still! Great.
  11. Did you guys know that the Heat vs. Cavs game was apparently called off? Yeah I just learned that Lebron James and Dwayne Wade just played a one on one game. At least that's what all the "Lebron beats Wade" headlines lead me to believe. I mean if the teams played wouldn't they say "Cavs beat Heat?"

Wait what? Horace wasn't Ben's dad was he? I thought he met Ben and his dad when they showed up on the island. And did the O6 get flashed back to 1974 while Locke and the others stayed in the present? It sure seems that way. Although previews would indicate otherwise....this is too confusing. I mean Locke's people found an abandoned Dharma station, unless it was a fully functional one that nobody was using.......

    College Basketball: March '09

Well OU goes down to Mizzou and falls to #3 in the Big XII and loses out on the No. 1 seed. Ouch. Things really spiraled out of control for this team after the Blake Griffin injury and they haven't been able to get it back on track. This is a bad time of the year to not have your shit together.

This week in the NBA (Mar. 1-7)

Boston is on a complete downward slide now. I'm hoping there's a switch they can turn on for the playoffs, because if there isn't then they may not ever make it to the East Finals!

NBA: Is Pushing Stars Over Teams Right?

Because sometimes that's the only way to watch sports. Then while I'm watching one game they start hyping up another involving their lord and savior from the Cavs. And then there's the guy on my local talk radio station that every other NBA word out of his mouth is Lebron. That bugs me too, but I like the other stuff they talk about so I listen.

NBA: Is Pushing Stars Over Teams Right?

That's like this doucher I work with. The night after the OU/KU Big Monday game he was trying to declare it one of the best basketball games he'd ever seen. Mainly because of all the big 3's they kept hitting at the end. I told him if that's one of the best he's ever seen then he hasn't watched very many basketball games. Hell it's not even the best KU game of the last year.

NBA: Is Pushing Stars Over Teams Right?

As a fan of the team you're allowed to enjoy the tradition. You can't use past titles to claim your team is the shit right now, but when it comes to a historical argument about which team is all-time better then yeah, you can use the previous accomplishments to determine which is better.

NBA: Is Pushing Stars Over Teams Right?

Oh and Sasha Vujacic. How could I forget that little bitch? I wish he'd go far away too. Actually the only Lakers I can stand are Kobe and Fisher (i actually like fisher). As for Lebron. Yeah, I hate hearing about him all the time and hearing how great he is. So it turned me on him. I do want him to fail, you are correct in that regard.

NBA: Is Pushing Stars Over Teams Right?

For some reason the Kobe hyping doesn't bother me as much. It's the other Lakers that I hate. I can't stand Walton, Gasol, Farmar or Odom. Kobe really doesn't bother me as much. And it'll actually be 17 titles to 15. I don't buy into that argument at all. Overall the Celtics still have more titles. Now if the Lakers go on another 3-peat, then that sucks.

NBA: Is Pushing Stars Over Teams Right?

I can only hold out hope that those NBA Finals will end the exact same way Lebron James last trip to the NBA Finals ended.

NBA: Is Pushing Stars Over Teams Right?

I agree with Chris Russo that it's kind of dumb to brag about sports things that you weren't even alive for. And you decided to be a fan of Celtics. So you're basically saying: guys, I picked the team that has won 17 titles v. your 14, suck it. No problem! Yeah, but that would say that I can't claim any of OU's tradition either in college football. When college football is all about tradition and it's usually different than just "picking" a team. Besides my reasons for picking the Celtics have nothing to do with titles or tradition and is one of those goofy little kid things where you pick a team for kiddy reasons and then that team sticks with you forever. I liked the fact they wore green.....yup.....my young self liked green. Then again I picked the Eagles because I was young and loved watching Randall Cunningham. So it usually washes out on why people pick teams when they aren't geographically close to them. I swear sports has got to be the one thing where everyone's loyalty and reasons for liking something are called into question and challenged all the time. It's like you meet someone and they ask who your favorite sports team is. You tell them then you accusingly get a "Why do you like that team?" Like you're doing something totally wrong by liking that team, or if your answer is unsastifactory they will tell you that you cannot be a fan of that team. As if that's going to affect you liking the team.

NBA: Is Pushing Stars Over Teams Right?

And Lakers fans that don't live in LA aren't doing that too? That's what my custom title is a dig at. Lakers fans that act like they're the greatest thing since sliced bread and act like they're infinitely better than Boston and last year was a fluke. So are you saying that I can't be happy about any of the Celtics tradition? Because I wasn't around for Russell's titles I can't be happy about them or like the tradition? Well damn, I didn't realize that everything that happened before I was born is inconsequential to my life and I shouldn't care about it. You're really teaching me a lot bob. I'm so glad I have a friend like you here to watch out for me and show me the error of my ways.

    Wrestling Quirks

How about this. Two guys wrestle each other in a main event. It takes 30 minutes for one to beat the other enough to get just ONE pinfall. Meanwhile the same two guys have a 2 out of 3 falls match and suddenly they're able to pin each other once and someone is able to get a third one in that same 30 minute time-frame! And in an Iron-Man match they're somehow able to pin each other a bunch!

NBA: Is Pushing Stars Over Teams Right?

I'm so sorry Bob. I'll try to fix all that, because my one goal on this board is to please you. I'm sorry I've failed you in this regard. I'm attached to the Celtics. I don't care that the Thunder are in my backyard. I'm still a Celtics fan, always have been and I don't see that changing. So people do get attached to teams without living in the area. Maybe that'll change one day if the Thunder grow on me? I don't know, but as of right now it hasn't and doesn't appear to be changing.

    College Basketball: March '09

I see bracketology has OU listed as a No. 1 seed still. I think if they lose tonight to Mizzou they're obviously out of that spot. I heard someone say that if OU and KU run the table and meet in the Big XII tournament finals then that game could be for a No. 1 seed. However, I just can't picture KU as a 1 seed at this point. I'd think someone like Memphis would get it first if OU goes down.
