    Tzar Lysergic

How come bosses only complain if there's dirty pics to view? This strikes me as odd. Browsing the net and chatting on message boards when you presumably should be working = fine, but turn up one mildly inappropriate picture...

    CTDWAT: TNA Edition

Okay, I guess that sorta makes sense....but sheesh...not knowing that, it really cheesed me off while watching.

    CTDWAT: TNA Edition

Hey, question: I don't watch much TNA, but I watched their most recent PPV, and I gotta ask: what's with the stolen gimmicks? Shark Boy doing a Stone Cold bit didn't bother me, because I know he's something of a comedy act. Petey Williams totally aping Scott Steiner's look (am I mistaken, or does he even wear the chainmail hat?) was something else, and it made me wonder why he was doing that. But when Jay Lethal came out to a remix of "Pomp and Circumstance", wearing Macho Man's ring gear, I literally got up and left the room. But I gotta ask: are there angles to explain why those guys are doing that? Or are they just doing it?

    Campaign 2008: Canadian Version

I dunno about that...there's been cases (well, okay, a case) around here of kids stealing cars and basically not getting punished at all for it...until the day the kid stole a car and ran over some woman in a crosswalk. I've read in the paper of parents basically begging the courts to arrest their kids and lock them up, and they don't do shit about it. I think that at 16, kids should start being held accountable. Not saying that a 16-year old should go to adult prison, but they should definitely receive some sort of punishment for their crime. I don't buy that people magically know the difference between right and wrong at 18. I don't buy that they'd magically know it at 16 either, but I just sorta pulled that number out of my ass. That said, I doubt he'd need a majority for it, since it seems like the kind of thing every Canadian hates, thus other parties could vote for it, could they not? Assuming they would, which they should, because like I said, it seems like every single Canadian hates the YCJA.

    Campaign 2008: Canadian Version

No, we vote for people, not for parties. In fact, back when they were re-working the Atlantic Accord and whatnot, one of the Conservatives around here, Bill Casey, voted against it, which meant he was voting against his own party. He got booted out of the party for it, but he still has his seat. But anyway, just to clarify a little, we just vote for people - now, virtually everyone belongs to a party (there are some independents though) and a lot of people, in my experience, will tend to vote for a party without being too concerned about who exactly is running in their riding (IE, people will say "I'm voting Green", not "I'm voting for Joe Somebody") but that doesn't guarantee that party that seat. It guarantees that person that seat, and yes, sometimes people do cross over. I don't think it's a very common occurance though.

ITT: talk about how much weddings fucking blow

I've been to like, a zillion weddings...3 for my siblings, plus various weddings for cousins that I didn't know very well/was too little to remember. This past summer, I went to a wedding for a friend of mine, as one of the Groomsmen. This was the first wedding in my entire life I had been to that was not Catholic. OH MY GOD. Never until that moment did I realize exactly how *much* Catholic weddings sucked. For those who don't know, a Catholic wedding generally takes place during Catholic mass, and mass is an hour in and of itself. Yeah. The worst wedding I ever went to was for one of my sisters. I'd had to cut my hair, and the barber just fucking butchered it, plus my ears were still ringing from the Slayer concert a day or two before, so I was in a bad mood to start. Long boring ceremonies and inedible foods didn't help that. Like, seriously, worst food I've ever seen at a wedding. If our hotel wasn't 10 feet away from a Wendy's, I would've starved.

    Face of the Franchise

It is if you can't fucking stand John Cena. I gotta say, it's kinda funny that people seem to be arguing over which period of WWE was best, forgetting that everyone has their own opinions on the matter. That said, I had given up on RAW until CM Punk won the title. Now that he lost in that fucking horrible booking mess at Unforgiven, I have no desire to watch anymore. Not gonna argue that that's where the money is, but when less people want to watch the show for FREE, don't you think that directly means even less then that want to pay for it?

    Comic Request thread

Sorry, my mistake; it's issue 4 that I'm not getting. I did re-download it, but in place of Issue 4, I get the covers of issue 4 and the "Scanned By" page, and that's about it.

    Comic Request thread

Man, this thread is fucking killer. Thanks a ton, Flair. I'm gonna confess that I know very little about Star Wars comics, but are any of the other ones you have alternate universe deals, like the Infinites ones? Those would be neat. Also, I don't mean to look a gift horse in the mouth, but it appears to me that issue 3 of Infinite Crisis is just the covers. If that could be fixed somehow, I'd be even more grateful.

    Discussion: The Undertaker

I'd say he did a damned good job of putting Mankind over - sure, he may have won in the end, but Manind beat the piss outta him for a bit and won his fair share of matches, I think. That aside, Undertaker was my absolute favorite wrestler from the time I started watching wrestling around WMX, until like, early 2000 or so. My least favorite wrestler, 9 out of ten times, was whoever Undertaker happened to be wrestling at the time. These days, meh. He's there, I don't hate him, but it's not like he couldn't lose a few feuds and still be just as over, you know?

    Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

This thread. People are saying that you can throw around TIE fighters and do crazy shit. That sounds like a good review to me.

    Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

I'm way late on this, but just wanted to chime in that I'm pretty certain George Lucas has said that Anakin originally had the potential to be twice as powerful as the Emperor, but losing his limbs left him at about 80% of the Emperor's power. This is cuz the midichorians are in your blood and flesh or whatever, and Anakin lost a shitload of it. Also, I sorta assumed that Vader never used force lightning because it could've potentially fucked up his electrical systems. I mean, that's kinda why he died, isn't it? Cuz he grabbed the Emperor and got force-lightning-ed, thus fucking his systems up? I'm I'm not mistaken, his breathing doesn't even sound right after that. That was prolly all just stuff I assumed though. Anyway, I only just heard of this game a little while ago, and seeing that it's apparently getting good reviews, I think I might take advantage of my roomie's new PS3 and rent it. Edit: Just watched the vid in the first post, and holy fuck, tonfa lightsabers!!

    Sting: 1996-1997

You think? You also said that allowing the nWo angle to run on forever is what helped kill the company. Don't you think Sting dismantling the nWo would've been better? Basically have him start running through the other nWo members, putting them on the shelf, until eventually he declares the group dead because they've all either been beaten by Sting, hospitalized by Sting, or are too chicken-shit to wrestle Sting. I'm not saying he couldn't put someone over, I just think that having Sting kill the group finally would have been decent.

I know who I'm voting for - well, I know what party. I don't know who's running in the riding yet. I hope Harper gets the boot.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

Wendy's has this thing where they introduce new burgers for a limited time, then take them off again. No, I have no fucking clue why. Yes, it pisses me off too. All I ever really want at Wendy's is the Spicy Mountain burger or whatever it was, but nope....

    Discussion: Marketing WWE PPVs

Seriously...why does a PPV named No Way Out NOT have a cage match of some sort at every one?

    Prison Break

Man, I've been sympathetic to Bellick for a while now; yeah he was a dick as a guard and stuff, but he's a prison guard! I don't think they're supposed to be nice to people in jail for murder and armed robbery. And yeah, it's not like he wasn't still a dick for a while after that, but he's been way overpunished for it, in my eyes. The poor bastards been over his head, struggling to survive for a while now, in my opinion.

    Discussion: Marketing WWE PPVs

Regarding the earlier discussion about whether there's any real difference between PPV's anymore - I think that the WWE should actually be trying to single out some of the newer PPV's, and give them some decent gimmicks or themes or whatever. Like, a big part of why the Royal Rumble stands out is the Rumble match - so why not make it known that (as an example) the Elimination Chamber only happens once a year, at like, New Year's Revolution or whatever, and try to make that PPV stand out a bit. Of course, not every PPV should have a set gimmick like that, but I think if they spread a few around, it could help those PPV's out eventually.

    Prison Break

I find PB does that a lot, just rips right through stuff. That's one of the things I like about it though; no waiting around for 2-3 seasons for some answers, like some shows. That said, this wasn't bad, but I'm not a fan of this whole little team they've got going on. I'll wait and see where they go with it before judging though.

    Watchmen

As I interpreted it, That said, I read that they're gonna release the Black Freighter as like, an animated bit on DVD or something? I could be wrong, I just read a rumour like that somewhere.

    Venture Bros. Season 3

"LOOK INTO MY EYES!" "I....I have some cuttlefish...." "If that were a woman, I'd marry it." "And I'd jeopardize our friendship by having sex with your hot wife." "Take my car...but you are NOT gonna like looking for the keys!" "Look, I am not gonna die." "He says as he electrocutes himself!"

John Cena to host Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards

I'd imagine it has more to do with the sexual innuendo that goes on during said matches - you know, Jerry Lawler over there making a bunch of sex jokes or whatever.

    Explosion at Toronto propane factory

The Halifax Explosion was the largest conventional explosion (biggest man-made explosion period until 1945) for a very long time, but I *think* something else has topped it since. I cannot think of what, exactly, but I do seem to recall reading that it was no longer the largest man-made conventional explosion. That said, as a Halifax citizen, I'm prolly biased. Hell, I've been on tour "buses" (damned Harbour Hopper) where they claimed that the Halifax Explosion was *still* the largest man-made explosion ever. Yeah, they didn't add the "non-nuclear" qualifier. Browsing around, Wiki has a list claiming that the Halifax Explosion was a magnitude of like, 2.9 kilotons, behind about 5 other explosions, but I seriously wonder if any of those ones killed anywhere near as many people. Halifax got fucking LEVELED.
