    Fatwa issued by radical cleric

More Pat hilarity: We have enough votes to run the country. And when the people say, "We've had enough," we are going to take over. -- Pat Robertson, speech given to the April, 1980 "Washington for Jesus" rally, quoted from Robert Boston, The Most Dangerous Man in America, p. 29 If Christian people work together, they can succeed during this decade in winning back control of the institutions that have been taken from them over the past 70 years. Expect confrontations that will be not only unpleasant but at times physically bloody.... This decade will not be for the faint of heart, but the resolute. Institutions will be plunged into wrenching change. We will be living through one of the most tumultuous periods of human history. When it is over, I am convinced God's people will emerge victorious. -- Pat Robertson, Pat Robertson's Perspective Oct-Nov 1992 We at the Christian Coalition are raising an army who cares. We are training people to be effective -- to be elected to school boards, to city councils, to state legislatures, and to key positions in political parties.... By the end of this decade, if we work and give and organize and train, THE CHRISTIAN COALITION WILL BE THE MOST POWERFUL POLITICAL ORGANIZATION IN AMERICA. -- Pat Robertson, in a fundraising letter, July 4, 1991 There is never in the Constitution at any point, anything that applies that to the states, none at all. The Supreme Court has done it over repeated attempts by Congress which have been beaten back to do such a thing. -- Pat Robertson, The 700 Club television program, April 11, 1986 A Supreme Court ruling is not the Law of the United States. The law of the United Sates is the Constitution, treaties made in accordance with the Constitution, and laws duly enacted by the Congress and signed by the president. And any of those things I would uphold totally with all of my strength, whether I agreed with them or not.... I am bound by the laws of the United States and all 50 states ... [but] I am not bound by any case or any court to which I myself am not a party.... I don't think the Congress of the United States is subservient to the courts.... They can ignore a Supreme Court ruling if they so choose. -- Pat Robertson, speaking to a group of Washington Post writers, as reported in the Washington Post, June 27,1986 We have imagined ourselves invulnerable and have been consumed by the pursuit of ... health, wealth, material pleasures and sexuality... It [terrorism] is happening because God Almighty is lifting his protection from us. -- Pat Robertson, in a three-page statement released Thursday, September 13, 2001, quoted from AANEWS #958 by American Atheists (September 14, 2001) I think George Bush is going to win in a walk. I really believe that I'm hearing from the Lord it's going to be like a blowout election of 2004. It's shaping up that way. The Lord has just blessed him.... I mean, he could make terrible mistakes and comes out of it. It doesn't make any difference what he does, good or bad. God picks him up because he's a man of prayer and God's blessing him. -- Pat Robertson, The 700 Club television program, January 2, 2004 The Constitution of the United States, for instance, is a marvelous document for self-government by the Christian people. But the minute you turn the document into the hands of non-Christian people and atheistic people they can use it to destroy the very foundation of our society. And that's what's been happening. -- Pat Robertson, The 700 Club television program, December 30, 1981 When I said during my presidential bid that I would only bring Christians and Jews into the government, I hit a firestorm. "What do you mean?" the media challenged me. "You're not going to bring atheists into the government? How dare you maintain that those who believe in the Judeo-Christian values are better qualified to govern America than Hindus and Muslims?" My simple answer is, "Yes, they are." -- Pat Robertson, The New World Order, p. 218

By Joseph Wilson Friday 26 August 2005 12:31 PM Statement by Former Ambassador Joseph Wilson The Bush White House and its right wing allies are responding to Cindy Sheehan and the military families’ vigil in Central Texas in the same way that they always respond to bad news –by unleashing personal attacks and smears against her. This White House never wants an open public discussion, and it certainly never wants to be told that it is wrong. It always tries to change the message by attacking the messenger. They did it with former Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill when he wrote a book that suggested that the White House used 9/11 as an excuse to invade Iraq. They did it when Richard Clarke revealed that the White House ignored warnings about Bin Laden. They did it in a most despicable way, as everybody now knows, when they revealed my wife’s identity as a CIA employee because they were unhappy when I spoke the truth and told the American people that President Bush’s claim was false concerning Niger’s giving uranium to Iraq, part of the trumped up rationale for our invasion. So no one should be surprised that when these mothers and families who have lost loved ones in Iraq step up to question the President, the White House responds not with the respect due them, but with hateful attacks and smears. But enough is enough. Ours is a government of the people, by the people and for the people; and the people in the name of Cindy Sheehan are right in demanding accountability for the tragedy foisted upon our great nation by this administration. To smear her rather than hear her is un-American and undemocratic. Joseph C. Wilson IV was U.S. Ambassador to Gabon from 1992-1995 and is an international business consultant.

    Moms make war look bad.

Regardless of your narrow view of this woman, and what she is doing, it is very important to DISCUSS this war! Like it or not sweetheart, alot of people want out of this war they feel we never should have got involved in. THAT is what they think. Try and undermine it all you like. But "shutting your damn mouth" has never gotten anything done. EVER. There need to be MORE civic minded people with the guts and will to stick their necks out and say what they feel needs to be said. Who gives a shit about heat? What YOU are saying is EVERYBODY on the left should just shut up so you and the "right minded" types can go along and have their way. You just can't deal with all that conversation. So it's shut up or we'll accuse you of cavorting with the enemy. TREASON! TRAITOR! Anti-Bush = Anti-American! Anti-SEMITE! These are the kinds of conversations that we DO NOT need! But obviously the right wing can't deal with it so baseless accusations are the soup of the day. I have no idea what you are talking about as it concerns C-Bacon. But *I* also do NOT think we CAN pull even if we tried to! Afterall, when you are neckdeep in shit its really hard to swim home. But it is the POLICY that is the issue here. The US Government and its agencies have been fucking around over there (the Middle East, Central America, South America) for too many years. Yet if they HAD NOT... we wouldn't be where we are today. Change these policies and we change ourselves and the rest of the world for the better. Period. YOU can't fuck with that and THAT is why you are "gone". Thankfully, people like her are standing up and making noise. She is far braver than you or I hiding behind a keyboard talking shit. So threatend by her is the right its almost like she were running for office somewhere considering the mudslinging (and WHERE oh WHERE is the "left wing media" to protect her???) All I ever hear about is how much of an asshole she is for standing up in her sons name or her getting served a divorce etc etc etc. Whatever it takes to distract from the issue of POLICY! Oh, well I suppose. Its the price that's paid to flex a little freedom. Keep in mind if you REALLY thought this thread was THAT much of an abortion... well you certainly played your part by joining in. Maybe next time you can keep your damn mouth shut. Yanno, to help average things out?

and waste anymore effort on YOU? please. I could lace this thread with links galore ala a certain somebody, but why bother with the brainwashed? besides, those who were and were not on the bandwagon, (CIA???FBI????) are well documented by this point. you could always check some older threads. or maybe you could post just one more time where you say something like "this is YOU we are talking about" which of course we are not. but this IS YOU we are talking about so la la la indeed.

Well, if we are going for everyone who agrees with what she's doing... Uh, there weren't too many experts who said 'Don't go into Iraq', either. There were some who (Rightly) said that we should have more troops, more force, and concentrate on rebuilding, but the military as a whole said Iraq was okay. So, uh, you're still a moron. Good for you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And MORE petty name calling from you. Good for YOU for keeping your non-thoughts out there for me to enjoy. Thanks for the link. I go there all the time now. ALL the time, cuz I and people like me are all about that. I'm still waiting for Charlie Manson or maybe some old Nazis to rear their heads outta South America to throw in THEIR support for Sheehan so you and MikeSC can finally bust a nut.

Bush, in describing Cindy Sheehan, stated, "She expressed her opinion. I disagree with it." This puts Cindy Sheehan in the company of military experts who told Bush things he didn't want to hear prior to the attack on Iraq. Experts who turned out to be correct.

    Pat Robertson

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,166478,00.html OMGFAUXNEWSLOL2005BRB!!!! Robertson Calls for Chavez's Assassination Tuesday, August 23, 2005 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson (search) has suggested that American agents assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez (search) to stop his country from becoming "a launching pad for communist infiltration and Muslim extremism." An official of a theological watchdog group on Tuesday criticized Robertson's statement as "chilling." "We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability," Robertson said Monday on the Christian Broadcast Network's "The 700 Club." "We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator," he continued. "It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with." Chavez has emerged as one of the most outspoken critics of President Bush, accusing the United States of conspiring to topple his government and possibly backing plots to assassinate him. U.S. officials have called the accusations ridiculous. "You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it," Robertson said. "It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... and I don't think any oil shipments will stop." On Tuesday, critics objected to Robertson's statements. "It's absolutely chilling to hear a religious leader call for the murder of any political leader, no matter how much he disagrees with such a leader's policies or practices," said the Rev. Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State (search). David Brock (search), president of Media Matters, a liberal media watchdog group, said the remarks should discredit Robertson as a spokesman for the religious right. Robertson, 75, founder of the Christian Coalition of America (search) and a former presidential candidate, accused the United States of failing to act when Chavez was briefly overthrown in 2002. A Robertson spokeswoman, Angell Watts, said he would not do interviews Tuesday and had no statement elaborating on his remarks. A call seeking comment from the U.S. State Department was not immediately returned Tuesday. Chavez was believed to be in Cuba, but his whereabouts were unknown and no media access was announced. In Caracas, pro-Chavez legislator Desire Santos Amaral accused Robertson of shedding his Christian values. "This man cannot be a true Christian. He's a fascist," Santos said. "This is part of the policies of aggression from the right wing in the North against our revolution." Santos said she thinks U.S.-Venezuelan relations could still improve but comments by "charlatans and fascists" like Robertson only get in the way. Venezuela is the fifth largest oil exporter and a major supplier of oil to the United States. The CIA estimates that U.S. markets absorb almost 59 percent of Venezuela's total exports. Venezuela's government has demanded in the past that the United States crack down on Cuban and Venezuelan "terrorists" in Florida who they say are conspiring against Chavez. Robertson has made controversial statements in the past. In October 2003, he suggested that the State Department be blown up with a nuclear device. He has also said that feminism encourages women to "kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians." ZOD Bless you Pat. You really made my day. I was about to speculate why anybody would even give a shit about Venezuela when I reread this: Venezuela is the fifth largest oil exporter and a major supplier of oil to the United States. The CIA estimates that U.S. markets absorb almost 59 percent of Venezuela's total exports. Hmmm. Well he has got our SHIT! Muthafuckas have gots ta go!

    Velocity Report *spoilers*

I watched the show also. Regal is back to his old 2002 generic heel music. This whole segment was based around a forgettable SD segment and seems to be leading to only a future Velocity match - is there really any great need to establish storyline reasons for Velocity matches? Especially since we know most of their audience is watching for match quality either as opposed to the weak SD-esque reasons for feuds (eg, 'You spilled coffee on me so I'm gonna kick your ass'). Ken Kennedy looks more like Heidenreich than Billy Idol (as suggested by the idiotic announcer), and his brief pre-match promo was weak. They called him a new debuting superstar, was he in OVW or anything at all? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't mind them doing some small storyline stuff on Velocity. Hell, as long as they do SOMETHING to enhance the show so it doesn't become a recap show with garnish.

Also: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh no no! The REAL problem is its stuff like this makes approval ratings go down. And if they down any more it makes any who support the war look like assholes. BIG assholes. Plus, words like "liberal" won't be used as quite the curse word it used to. And where would conservative philosphy be without that? You think these people who have argued so forcefully supporting Bush ever want to face the guy they most likely assaulted with words like "anti-american" and "traitor" knowing he now knows he is and was wrong? When Bush is finally out of office, by that time this country will know him for what he is... a colossal fuck up. A fuck up who made a CHOICE that sent 2000 American Soldiers to their deaths for something that has not made us safer. For something that has NOT eliminated any threat real or imagined. For something that is not going to even help the poor Iraqis. When we leave (which we will by the 06 election) the Sunnis and the Kurds and the whole lot of them are going to tear each other apart until Iran steps in and makes them the B-Team. Because at that point they (and every other muslim in the world for that matter) will all be so sick of the bullshit that perhaps THEN maybe we might have a united Islam to war against... and then we can finally be rid of them. These stupid fucks have their noses so far up their own asses they can smell their own teeth. But hey, if this ilk wants to turn it all into a glass parking lot then so be it. At least it'll show that one mothers grief isn't so crazy afterall. Trying to explain something like this IS reaching pretty far when there are so many who flat out refuse to listen. And no, it is not funny.

So lets see here. Her son dies as a result of a war for which the reasons turn out to be false. So she isn't supposed to hold the president accountable? She is supposed to what just forgive and forget? I know that lots of people do some pretty far out stuff while in panic or grief, but holding a (so far) peaceful protest isn't something the right should be bitching about. It isn't even a real threat other than it might continue the downward swing in apporval ratings and so what! The jack-off will still be president tomorrow and the day after. In fact the mere fact that this fucking asshole of a president is on VACATION during a war negates any and all critiques any might make towards the left. Remember the right wingers have insisted that we not protest or even be critical of the president during war time. So a vacation? You wanna talk about fucking insults to the troops? Then again maybe even his heart really isn't into "the cause" either. He has no standards.

Cindy didn't start a war on bullshit so anything she does gets kinda eclipsed by 2000 dead americans and the people responsible. Wow indeed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ooooookay. Just because your entire story was derailed because it turns out that this bitch looks like she's using her son's sacrifice for her own personal gain doesn't mean you have to resort to irrelevant comparisons on the war itself. But hey, try to keep to positive! Maybe next time your bullshit story won't hoist your petard! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Derailed my ass! Since you have no solid return arguement I'll let it slide. There is no way that this woman standing up for her son is going to be made to look bad. Sorry, greiving mothers don't get to look that way. It takes a real fuckhead to shit on a mother who has just lost their son. Wanna know where they live? Check that election map and look for red.
