I haven't heard a good "The economy is in such bad shape that Bush will use some powers he signed into law secretly himself to stay in office for the good of the country" rumor yet. I thought that would be running wild about now.Probably because most people aren't that retarded.
I'll take that bet...
...on the retarded part that is.

Let's continue to mindlessly rip Marvin for pages on end to feel better about ourselves!Yeah, seriously. I don't like Marvin and I still think he's starting to get a raw deal here. The way I see it, Marvin and NoCalMike are mirror images: they try to inform themselves, but their fundamental problem is that they're both stupid. They both repost long rambling articles that nobody reads, they scatter punctuation and spelling errors like birdshot, and they both maintain tinfoil headwear. They try hard and mean well, but they aren't very bright. Then there's bps21, who is a human blown fuse box. Let's share our special brand of love a little better here.
I hope you feel better about yourself now.

I do wish politicians would have the guts to change their stance on Cuba and risk forsaking the support of basically one freaking city in Florida...Changing up on Israel might be a nice move too.

My hope is that Obama can continue to attract independent and first-time voters by taking the high-road. I could be wrong, but that's what I think works best for him (yes, I know he doesn't always stick to it).Jerk, I am completely with you that hope and the high road are attractive places to be and be going. I just think people need a knock out punch here and I don't think they will care that much WHERE the punch lands (even if it's low).

"Senator, with respect, I think we both know that if your choice for vice president were the Democratic candidate for President, you would be standing here shredding her on her lack of experience, her lack of preparedness, and that the presidency shouldn't require on-the-job training. How dare you stand there and flaunt such thunderous hypocrisy, that you would hold me to a standard that you don't hold your own possible successor to. You have forever tossed away the right to play the experience card as you have repeatedly done with me tonight, and I think you owe an apology to the American people for such dishonorable behavior."The problem with this is that Palin is self-destructing on her own without Obama needing to pour salt on the wounds. Plus, both guys picked running mates who typify qualities that they have criticized the other for, as Biden has been in Congress a full decade longer than McCain. Why draw attention to that by calling him out on Palin?
"You know who else had a liberal voting record? The Founding Fathers in voting for change. Now I know, Senator McCain, I know...you knew the Founding Fathers. You worked with the Founding Fathers. The Founding Fathers were friends of yours, and I'm no founding father. But I'll do my best to live up to the example they set and the Constitutional freedoms they lay down...freedoms that your good friend, George Bush, has stampeded over."Whether its politically expedient or not, that's just a tacky thing to say.
Oh please.
Republicans have been hanging themselves with their own words for-fucking-ever and it hasn't made the slightest dent in the shared point of view. You going to try and tell me that after 8 years of defending any and everything George W. Bush conservatives are NOT going to continue to drink the Kool-Aid?
Self-destructing or not she BELIEVES what they do.
So yeah. Obama should be (albeit "politely") burning this guys campaign to the ground because it is the right thing to do and you KNOW he can. If Obama is going to live up to his word (CHANGE-ENOUGH) he has not only to defeat the McCain/Palin ticket but 8 retarded years of Bush. The more he shows those things being the bad choice, the less of a chance there is of status quo in Washington. So if a twist on a famous American quote is the way of putting that into peoples minds and have it make sense? Then go... for... it. Because no matter how smart the American voter is they will remember it.

Happy Birthday to ME, you assholes!

You and I both know that that kind of rhetoric doesn't take well in the political arena.Perhaps on talk radio they might bitch about it. But come ON! This is Politics American Style. There is no shot too cheap. No road too low. It's bottom shelf and it works.

I will see this. I will laugh. I will hurt from laughing. But in the end, when the laughter has died... it'll just hurt.

Peter David is the man.
What Obama needs to do to win a debateBecause he didn't win this one. Not overwhelmingly. He got in a few solid hits, and perhaps on debate points he edged out a victory. But he didn't do what he needed to do, which is overwhelmingly convince undecideds. Now granted I'm speculating because I haven't polled any undecideds, but I don't think his performance was strong enough to sway anyone.
I think he needs to follow the philosophy of a poker player, as nicely espoused by James Bond: You don't play the cards. You play the man. Obama spent the debate playing the cards that McCain dealt him, and he needs to be running the table.
McCain's Achilles heel is his legendary temper. Obama needs to get McCain to transform, on screen, into that cranky guy down the block who tells the neighborhood brats to get the football off his lawn.
How? By calling him a liar. By questioning his honor. By saying something like, "Senator, with respect, I think we both know that if your choice for vice president were the Democratic candidate for President, you would be standing here shredding her on her lack of experience, her lack of preparedness, and that the presidency shouldn't require on-the-job training. How dare you stand there and flaunt such thunderous hypocrisy, that you would hold me to a standard that you don't hold your own possible successor to. You have forever tossed away the right to play the experience card as you have repeatedly done with me tonight, and I think you owe an apology to the American people for such dishonorable behavior." And he needs to say that politely but firmly, and then stand back and watch McCain fly off the rails. Because if you push his buttons, he will.
He needs to be able to convey that McCain doesn't belong in the Oval Office; he belongs in a Scooby-Doo cartoon saying, "And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you rotten kids!"
UPDATE: I was torqued to read "Newsday" attributing the Wall Street/Main Street thing to John McCain even though Obama said it twice before him. Hey, here's another thought: If McCain makes snide comments about a liberal voting record again, Obama can say, "You know who else had a liberal voting record? The Founding Fathers in voting for change. Now I know, Senator McCain, I know...you knew the Founding Fathers. You worked with the Founding Fathers. The Founding Fathers were friends of yours, and I'm no founding father. But I'll do my best to live up to the example they set and the Constitutional freedoms they lay down...freedoms that your good friend, George Bush, has stampeded over."

Didn't link to anything of the kind, it was some fluffpiece news report about Chicago residents being stressed out.I
me some MsChif, and you're telling me her day-job alter ego might be that of a brainy science chick? HAWT.
EDIT: all I ever post in this folder is "your links failed me again, DAMN YOU CHEEZY", isn't it? Wow. I am a dick.
It's odd I was going to tell you that the bar on the right might have had it but I clicked the link and it wasn't there anymore. Well damn.

Holy shit that Chris Matthews interview was bad. JUST BECAUSE YOU YELL YOUR POINT OVER THE OTHER GUY DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE RIGHT, CHRIS.How many questions is Matthews allowed to ask before the non-answers and bullshit piss him off? Guy got what he deserved.

This show was one of my favorites as well and was the catalyst for one of my first real "smarky" moments.
On Superstars the following weekend they did the recap of the Rumble and showed the Hogan pulling Sid out bit. But they had replaced the audio of the crowd and Gorillas commentary and did it quite poorly. The sound quality totally gave it away and even if you hadn't seen the show you had to know something was up. I was pissed and was ready to swear wrestling off for the WWF trying to squash the fans natural reactions. Thinking back it was kind of odd that I was THAT offended by it, but then again Flairs awesomeness kept me onboard.

September 17, 2008Prominent Clinton backer and DNC member to endorse McCain
Posted: 10:45 AM ET
From CNN Political Editor Mark Preston
Lynn Forester de Rothschild was a strong supporter of Clinton's White House bid.
Lynn Forester de Rothschild was a strong supporter of Clinton's White House bid.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.
The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.
Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.
In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.
“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”
Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.
This makes me happy.

And the winner of the "Dumbest Thing I've Read All Day" award goes to...
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26743182/“The portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense, they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive, and Sarah Palin as totally superficial,” McCain advisor Carly Fiorina told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Monday. “I think that continues the line of argument that is disrespectful in the extreme, and yes I would say sexist.”It isn't clear if Fiorina is saying that the so-called line of argument is sexist (which is bullshit), or if they're saying the skit itself is sexist (which is even more bullshit). Either way, Fiorina is shovelling bullshit at the press in an attempt to further this notion that Palin has been made a victim by the media.
This is American Politics we are talking about here. If she didn't know ahead of time that she (Palin as an unknown) was going to go under the microscope then she is an idiot. Which isn't to say that American Politics isn't offensive and retarded. But you would figure somebody who was qualified to be VP would have had some awareness of what was ahead of them.

This pretty much explains everything... in rhyme.

The Mayan calendar ends in 2012! Ooooh yeah! One can only hope all the talk about how much BETTER their calendar is than ours turns out to be true.

Goodness.
my bad sorry.

Perhaps a thread about Jingus in in order then, lol. Also, it amuses me that Cheesala thinks I'm Conservative/Republican.
You are as much of a conservative as I am a "Truther"... baby.
-
And what a hearty endorsement it was. Then again you'd think a Democrat from small town America with a bad opinion would be plenty justification in painting the entire party as being culpable.
Regrets… they can be a bitch. You ever have any over starting a thread?
I don’t.
(Look it up yourselves.)
Oh, and I love the use of abortion as a negative. Having never survived one myself I can understand why would you see that as a negative.

Noah Fentz, if I ever met you on the street? I'd stab you, man. I'd fucking stab you.And I carry a knife with me all the time, so you know... I could.
Dude...or whatever the fuck you are...I would take that knife away from you and fuck your ass with it.
Don't EVER talk about shit like that, you little bitch, or I'll come looking for YOU.
Trust me, you DON'T know who'd you'd be fucking with.
That kinda turns me on...
Who am I fucking with?
Please have that conversation with me. I am pretty sure that I'm more evil than you.
What? My back kinda hurts right now. I wish I was drunk.
...Because even wrestling boards need a Goldust. Thanks for knowing your role, Nighthawk.
Right about now Gary Floyd is looking for that picture of WP he keeps on file. When he posts it... THEN we will see how smart and funny he is and OH won't we love him.
Ron Paul.

Wow. This actually hurt my feelings. It confims all too much of what I have always suspected about "Conservatives". I'm almost sorry to be right in my opinion about them.
Maybe I'm over reacting but that sucked to watch.
