    Well the one positive is that if Obama survives this and still becomes the nominee, this bullshit will have a much less "OMG factor" in the general election.

     

    If he survives this? He looks better now than he ever did before.

    Not being an Obama supporter myself I can't help but understand some of what he had to say in his defense. If I had a dime for every time I had heard my grandfather utter a racial slur.... ugh.

     

    But I would also defend good old Grampy to my grave. A Korean War vet with 3 Purple Hearts and I'm going to tell him he can't call the enemy "gooks"? I have not the nerve. The one adult in my childhood that never let me down and what... if I were running for President am OBLIGATED to send him up the river? No thanks. I'll stay loyal to those who are loyal to me. So I can totally see why Barack pretty much told anybody trying to make political hay out of this to go fuck themselves. It is what I would do.

     

    So to pretend like Obama is obligated to disown a guy who has meant so much to his life is asking way too much. Besides who is he going to lose? Conservative voters?

     

    So yeah, he looks a LOT better to me now.

    Well they are certainly trying to jam as much into these last episodes as they can. No more love story subplots. No more kids. It's all just conspiracy, bombs, and revolution. I have no idea how they might wrap things up in an hour should they cancel this show.

    Fox News had a mid-day report last week about a "town meeting" a bunch the troops took part in. Did you know that NOT ONCE did any of the soldiers ask about coming home? Nope, they were more worried about splitting their pay checks so money could be sent back home. This was also backed up by NOT showing any footage of the meeting.

     

    Fuck it. I'm convinced.

    I think ROH do a solid job with their wrestling product, but they still have improvement in fluidity of the angles they pull off and the little story lines that they do use.

     

    Also their Production is terrible. I don't mean their dark buildings and stuff I mean their editing, their commentary etc. Their production is nothing that any random joe can't do from his basement.

     

    That is the lack of appeal to me as a viewer from home. I've never seen a live ROH show and I've only seen a handful of DVD from the past and their PPVs and they have a lot of work to do before the majority of the people outside of their core audience is even intrigued by their product. Because it looks amateur.

    In most cases I would agree with you but the production was one of the things that set this show apart from all the others thus far. One of the most jarring things about the first PPV was how abrupt the transitions were from in ring to back stage. This show really didn't suffer from that in spite of the artificial feeling they already have not being live. It still didn't give off that spontaneous live vibe but for once it didn't really hurt it (not that they could do much considering). The use of the split screens and the promos being pretty strong (and to the point) gave the show a barn burner pace. This show should change your mind about many of the perception complaints you have. If not then it might be best to check back when and if they start doing live camera shoots with a production truck and a pro crew. :P

     

    I'm nit picking here but one shot DID bug me a bit as a Nigel rope break was missed without giving it a close up and the shot they held was one where both guys obstructed the leg on the ropes. Those things are usually very important to have when learning newer viewers but its a small thing really. Otherwise this show was the best overall show I've seen for a long time. I'd say it was even better than Driven.

    I have to say this was one of the best PPVs I have ever seen. Nigel vs. Aries was fucking mind blowing how good it was. The Briscoes match was something a little bit different from them having to switch stratgey to mat wrestling late in the match. AmDrag vs. Morishima was a awesome bloody brawl. Everything else was show stealer material on any other show. A million billion stars! BUY THIS!

    And damn, Bonnie went out like a champ. Didn't see that one coming at all.

    Neither did I. Then again The Richmonds seem a lot like that "git offa my property" type.

     

    Next week should be great.
