That was hardly a foul on Dentmon. Williams got twisted up and fell, nothing more. Very bad call, though too bed he looks hurt.

I think that'll do it for UW. I'll be shocked if they hold up in overtime, considering the foul trouble and the fact that UConn just walked all over them to tie it.

I always think Joachim Noah is a girl.

Ouch. Later, G'Town. Thought you had the Elite 8 in you from the start. Florida in the Elite 8! Whoda thunk.

Yes! BOOYAH.

Oh, come ON. Show that shit again. It was Shelden.

Shock, here it comes. That wasn't an offensive foul on Williams? You gotta be kidding.

And LSU starts to come apart. Now they can't get a single shot to drop, and that nonsense foul on Davis won't help. And keeping Davis and Thomas out is idiotic. Williams is going to run wild without any inside presence, just like he did in the first half. LSU will lose this by 8-10 points with this gameplan.

Glen Davis guarding Redick is a thing of beauty. LSU should really be up by more at this point. Free throw shooting is ugly.

One of the most asshole things you could possibly do, I think. Not Special K, but the idea in general.

I was a bit surprised at the timeline last night's episode established. It's only been a week since the tail passengers made it to the beach? That puts the whole season at being a little over two weeks long so far. Don't think the writers have done a very good job of conveying that so far, though it does explain why people aren't more concerned with Michael's extended absence--he's only been gone for 3 or 4 days, after all.

Terrible book. Stupid protest. A movie I won't see, and that's all I need to know.

So Bob returned the pants.

Individually, I'm down with several of the songs. "My Name Is Prince" is hilarious and dumb, and I go for some of the ridiculous shit like "Sexy M.F." and "Love 2 the 9's." All the way through, it's agonizing. I've used the Kirstie Alley bits to great effect on mix discs, though.

I also think it's a great little twangy song on its own, too. I may also just be a grandma who likes his breaks.

The English do two (very stereotypical) things very well: fish n' chips, and bangers n' mash. You've just gotta stay at the pub food level. I love homemade italian with a great sauce, lots of meat--sausage, meatballs, pork, brijole, everything. Overall, it's hard to beat a medium rare steak, or great barbecue. I'm also a huge sucker for hibachi. Not so much teppanyaki, just because I get tired of the "I'm gonna toss an egg into my hat!" or "I'm gonna make this onion into a flaming volcano!" shtick pretty quickly.

I love me some "Eight Line Poem." It's a perfect transitional piece and gets right at me. "Kooks" isn't bad by any stretch. It's just probably a 6 or 7 on my scale while everything else is a 9 or 10.

Quick digression: Love Symbol Album. Find me someone who's listened to it more than three times start to finish.

Re Bowie first sides: It could just as easily be Ziggy. I find it really hard to pick between "Changes" and "Five Years," "Oh You Pretty Things" and "Starman." "Kooks" is a slight weak spot for me, but I guess you could say the same of "It Ain't Easy."

Less than half of the review is actually about the album. They seemed to feel the same way as you, but with a bit more "oh, that Prince!" positivity.

The Shield, season 5, official thread
Edwin MacPhisto replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
Having a scene after Shane and Lem was worth it just for Dutch's line: "Vic...you can't touch him." Heartbreaking. Shane handling Lem like this just hammers home what has been an overriding theme through the whole show, and especially came into focus last season: Shane just can't be Vic, as much as he tries. Vic is a bad person and a good cop. He's dirty, and he fucks up, but he usually does it right. Shane doesn't know how to do it right. Vic's a bad, bad person, but this is something he would never do--couldn't do anymore. Terrible. -
The Shield, season 5, official thread

Noted that none of those finale spoilers were anything close to right. What happened was way better. I don't think Vic's going to kill Shane when he finally figures it out. He'll turn him in, no matter what Shane's own testimony could do to him, and complete the full-circle arc of his changed perceptions and breaking points since shooting Terry way back when. -
I wish Colette would have said "Nina Myers." Robocop's "pandora's box" of knowledge? Zombie Nina, operated by the U.S. government.

I think it's terrifyingly ambiguous, as are the feelings of all the film's surviving characters. We don't know what to think because they certainly don't. Love this movie.

The first side of The Joshua Tree is wonderful, but in a much more conventional way than, really, any of Bowie's, particularly Low. I mean, you've probably heard almost everything on it at some point or another: "Where The Streets Have No Name," "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," "With Or Without You," etc. Great songs, but they sure aren't "Breaking Glass."
