And the #1 conference RPI gets you zero Sweet 16 teams. Ouch, Big Ten. -
Who's the ugliest player in basketball history?

Morrison looks like the kid in Almost Famous. With a crustache. -

Really convoluted reference to The Marathon Man in the commentary for LSU/A&M. Hilarious. -

Yeah, Winthrop was awesome in the selection show. I'm in the same situation of having Wichita State in the sweet 16 anyway, so go Throppers. I'm happy to have picked Alabama and hope they can keep up this monster rebounding. Felt that Marquette was a bit overseeded, and that this match-up looked more like an 8/9. -

OU's cut the lead to 6. Can't quite write them off yet. And Pacific's cut BC's lead to two--the game are getting interesting, at least. -

Oh man, the On Demand thing is great. Some of the games--OU/UW-M--have commentary, but the Wichita/Seton Hall game has really funny music throughout. I'm going to love this all weekend. -
This was on sale today, so I picked it up. Good as advertised, and I look forward to getting the time to listen to it thoroughly.

Outback's decent, but I don't get the steaks. I rarely order steak out unless I'm going somewhere really nice; I much prefer to cook my own. The Alice Springs Chicken, though...that I'll get.

The Shield, season 5, official thread

Gina Torres' ass for all! Intense episode. Kern, wow. I thought they would kill the guard, but I did *not* expect that to be what went down. It's not gonna end well for somebody, but I have no idea who. Should they have taken the deal Aceveda practically begged Lem to take? 1 year each, and be done? Or would they all just be dead in prison? This show is rough stuff. -

Just saw 5 Good Minutes with Bruce Pearl on PTI. Tennessee lucked out--what a solid dude. I really enjoyed seeing a coach who could actually assess his team realistically, and not take all the seeding drama too seriously. Got a good future, those guys do. -
Best name I've seen lately: Landocalrissian Butler.

It may be, especially since Bierko seems intent on setting it all off sooner rather than later. Still, with the plan to use the gas on Russia going awry, you wonder how big a contingency plan they had in that case. They seem to have been running just fine since Bierko took over.

CIA! Blissful nostalgia.

Will there be a new season? I know it's big money for Fox, but I really don't know what they'll do. I love this show, but I'm not sure even I could buy the possibility of another Terrible No-Good Very Bad Day after this one. I have no idea what could possibly get Jack back into this. The people he came back to avenge are dead anyway. I find it really difficult to imagine Jack Bauer in Season 6, whether the character lives or dies, and I don't think 24 works without Jack.

Tony's dead, guys. I really don't consider this worthy of a spoiler because it was pretty damned obvious, I thought. The first page of this article makes reference to the Shield, Lost, and The L Word, and could be considered mildly spoilery for all of them, if you decide to go read the whole thing.

Just load up on standard NyQuil. It has enough acetaminophen to brush off any drastic discomfort or a couple hours and should help knock out whatever part of your body still wants you to be awake. Add a couple tylenol if you really want to get knocked out.

I love killin'.

I wonder if the girl Bierko called is the same girl that Henderson called after he left Jack to explode a few hours back. If not, I'm still wondering who the woman on the other end of that call was.

Brief research indicates that his birth name was actually Ashley Ward Parker. No Angel in sight. Why would you do that to yourself when you could just call yourself Ward Parker and wear tweed blazers?

I thought it was perfect that he was hugging Tony tonight. Tonight Jack was brought the lowest he's been since the season 3 finale, when he broke down crying after saving the day. Until Tony's demise, the most upsetting thing in the episode wasn't Lynn and Redshirt Guy dying terribly; it was Audrey asking Jack, "You all right?", and him responding, "No." Jack Baue tacitly acknowledged that he's not all right. He doesn't do that. Kim, the most important person in the world to him, the reason he does everything he does, doesn't want him in her life, at all. He isn't all right. And then, the person who's been his closest ally and friend gets offed. I can absolutely see why, for 30 seconds, Tony was more important than the only lead they have.

Absolutely one of the worst names a male could have.

It's so fucking brutal. I can't stand it, but I love it. It is absolutely the daring kind of change this show needed to stay out of a formula. Even if it is gradually becoming the most utterly heart-stomping, soul-crushing hour of television each week.

Right now, I'm going to say that Henderson is the villain this season. No if ands or buts about it as far as I'm concerned. Bierko is really only around to say 2-3 lines an episode and stalk around his bunker. I really hope Henderson lasts us all day, because now, it is SO personal.
