Weekend Boxoffice Report Oct 7-9

I was just talking about in general. "Oo, Adam Sandler" is never going to get you anywhere good. -
Don't say my car's topless; say the titties is out.

Weekend Boxoffice Report Oct 7-9

Do people not read movie reviews anymore? I dunno. Outstanding critical acclaim usually pushes me in the right direction and creates a "reason." -
No fattest coach discussion can be legitimate until it includes Maryland Ralph Friedgen. That's one fat dude. I don't really know what more a team can do at this point in the season than be undefeated with wins over ranked teams. Penn State is top-10 material at this point, no question.

My favorite comment is: -
Holy shit, Matt Schaub is starting and playing a real-life mid-season game against a real team. Go Falcons. Come back to UVA, Matt. I'm sure we can find you another year of eligibility somewhere.

Well played, guvnor. Well-played indeed...

Only person to get to 10 picks this week? I'm back, bitches. ::hubris::

Kids love tiebreakers.

I'm a Paul. Where are you, Bill. I just finished watching a movie wherein a pinata kills a bunch of frat boys. Life's all right.

The Serenity movie thread
Edwin MacPhisto replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in Television & Film
Speaking of which...Serenity Spoilers, via A Knight's Tale! Really, really darkly funny if you've seen Serenity. -
It's kind of amazing that it took BK this long to actually have a Burger King.

I feel like most of us have very pedestrian names.

And Congregation is the only one of theirs I haven't heard. There's something to do this weekend.

Not a very good impression on newer users . . .

I came twice. -
Good description. Black Love has a lot of that, too.

I like War, Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, and Zooropa unapologetically. Zooropa is pretty much great through the first five tracks, then falls off a bit, and then makes you say wtf with the Johnny Cash vocal that ends it. The rest of their 80s albums tend to have 3-4 remarkable songs each and lot of inoffensive decent stuff around them.

Now I get it. All the ticker stuff I was reading made it look like that was an INT returned for a score to win the game.
-
That's crazy, then. I know Calvin Johnson's great, but it's not like PJ Daniels is a chump. And they had the lead! Chan Gailey is a dumb man.

Ones I caught, in no particular order: "Sweet Virginia," "All Down the Line," "Paint it Black," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Tumbling Dice," "Honky Tonk Woman," "Get Off of My Cloud" "Ruby Tuesday," "Miss You," "Shattered," "Brown Sugar," "Start Me Up," "Sympathy for the Devil," "You Can't Always Get What You Want," "Satisfaction." And a bunch more, too. It was entirely hits with maybe 2-3 songs off their new album. It actually looked like an impressive enough show to have paid $65 to see, all things considered, but it was very nice to get it all for free, too. Charlottesville has suddenly turned into a concert town, much to my delight. The Wrens, Of Montreal, Blackalicious, the Pixies, the Stones, and a bunch of other acts in the span of about 3 weeks. Who knew we were so hip.
