False, false, false. "Girls, Girls, Girls" is especially great. I go for all that clever stuff. And the bonus version in the last track? Super. "Jigga That Nigga" is the least profound thing on there but has a fantastic Snoop-checking hook and is a-okay by me as far boast tracks go. And "Renegade" isn't bad at all, though it is admittedly weird for Eminem to pop up when nobody else has been on the whole thing.

Scientists capture giant squid on camera
Edwin MacPhisto replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Chat
This was the first bit of news I saw when I woke up this morning and it colored my whole day a wonderful shade of squid. I fucking love giant squid. -
best: worst (because I'm not counting the fake album that had only like Doug Yule): And sure, there are really only three, but: best: worst:

The Blueprint > Reasonable Doubt because, for one, Jay's older voice sounds much better than the "yup!" chirp from 1996. More importantly, the rhymes on Reasonable Doubt are still a bit juvenile, too much hustle and childish Scarface jerking. Boring skits and uninspiring guests (i.e. Bleek), but goddamn if "Brooklyn's Finest" isn't one of the best team-ups of all-time (controversial statement, right). And I still love Reasonable Doubt despite all that, but The Blueprint is that much better. It's him at his absolute most confident with the best array of beats he ever had.

I wish I had the chance to ever see USC games so I could decide for myself how good Leinart is. I think most of us only get the stat line since the games are rarely televised nationally.

Right on.

If your campus only has three frats, I'm sure it's small and they're fine. Just big social clubs, really, which you happen to pay an assload of money to join. At big universities, they're most commonly the refuge of hilarious homophobic/homosexual groupthink. I have never otherwise seen so many latently gay dudes in one place.

I have a shitload of reading to do tonight so I'm probably just going to have someone Tivo it. Let's see if that holds true at 9. Also, all I did today at work was listen to Dylan, and it was a fine day.

I think that may include international gross as well, so I imagine there'll be help from there.

I've read on several Whedonesque threads that $80 million is Universal's designated figure for optioning a second film. The buzz is there in sci-fi circles (and even a lot of entertainment magazines), but it still lacks any starpower whatsoever, which means that not a lot of people unfamiliar with the material will go. $20 million would be a fantastic opening weekend, I think.

Now you guys are just baiting him. Give it a rest.

Nice tie, but they left a shit lot of time on the clock. Ass may be bitten.

This is on at 9. I'm pledging my time. ZING!

I wonder if the person/persons voting for Idaho might have messed up and meant Boise. Or Iowa. Or something with an "I" or an Idaho-aspect in it. God help us.

Finally in the W column. Thanks, Wyoming. I knew you could do it. And man, Ole Miss must be pissed at having scheduled that home-and-home with Wyoming. You're not supposed to lose both games to the non-BCS team, guys.

Found the first Harris Poll on CFN. The page formatting is a little off, but here's how it shakes out: 1. USC 2. Texas 3. Virginia Tech 4. Florida 5. LSU 6. Florida State 7. Georgia 8. Ohio State 9. Miami 10. Michigan State 11. California 12. Tennessee 13. Notre Dame 14. Arizona State 15. Alabama 16. Texas Tech 17. Wisconsin 18. UCLA 19. Virginia 20. Minnesota 21. Boston College 22. Purdue 23. Iowa State 24. Louisville 25. Michigan OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES Georgia Tech 206, Penn State 154, West Virginia 132, Auburn 93, Texas A&M 93, Oregon 80, Vanderbilt 47, Clemson 39, Washington State 21, TCU 18, UTEP 17, South Florida 14, Illinois 13, Nebraska 11, Arizona 10, Iowa 7, Fresno State 6, Bowling Green 5, Idaho 5, Kansas State 3, Syracuse 3, Toledo 3, Southern Miss 2, UAB 1, Wyoming 1 So, really, same as it ever was, with a few weird-lite placements and probably a bit too much faith in Michigan and Louisville at this juncture.

VT has a shot at being undefeated, but as I said above, I don't think it'll happen. This team is certainly better than the typical go 6-0 and fade in November teams they had every year between Vick and last year, but Miami (and probably Virginia) in particular will have gotten too good by the end of the season for Tech to go 2-0 in those. They have about as easy a conference schedule as you can get in the ACC, but I think it's still going to be too much for an undefeated run.

Iggy's Week 3 Interim College Football Rankings
Edwin MacPhisto replied to iggymcfly's topic in Sports
CFN keeping Georgia Tech at 13 is pretty surprising. Usually they give up on their personal mega-hyped team as soon as they show a single sign of weakness. Now they've taken it too far in the other direction. Not much to complain about in Iggy's rankings. I'd probably have Alabama a bit higher. Next week's Florida game should be a big one for both programs. -
Not-particularly bold prediction: Virginia Tech will lose 3 regular season games.

It's quite visible on the DVDs, but I think it's largely irrelevant.

This thread turned out to be a lot less interesting than I had hoped. Sorry, guys.

Hurricanes ain't shit.

Hyperactive imaginations.

Georgia Tech's going to finish this season something like 7-4, but I'll be thrilled if they pull off the upset tomorrow. Unfortunately the UVA game is at the same time, so I'll be watching my guys thrash Duke. Which has its own appeal, I suppose.
