My understanding is that, if you're into that kind of music, they're very good at it. But Czech, I think that is a world for neither you nor I.

Can we get some spoilers on the titles of episodes from here on out? I know it's just a title, but "The Other 48 Days" makes pretty obvious some major developments of the show for anyone with half a brain.

We don't know, but he was in a wheelchair. But when the plane crashed on the island, Locke could walk again, seemingly miraculously. His legs momentarily gave out at a point last year and that indirectly led to another character's death, but they're working fine again. Rent or buy the first season. It's really great.

There's not a song on this earth that can undo "I Want You." Which, incidentally, makes me want to start a thread.

At this rate, the first third of the season is going to be the next day and a half. Fucked up crazy shit, guys.
-
Yeah. I play "I Want You" and "Stuck Inside of Mobile With the Memphis Blues Again" for people who tell me they don't like Bob Dylan, and that changes things pretty quickly.

I cannot think of one Prince song where he actually sings. He talks to music, but holds the words long enough so that people think he's singing. Prince is exceptionally creative and talented musician, but his vocal style is just lazy. The closest I've ever heard him come to singing was the screaming fit he has at the end of "Little Red Corvette". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I actually have no idea what you're talking about. I mean, first of all, he's singing. If what Prince does vocally isn't singing, then no one but torch song and r&b singers who go up and down scales on one breath "sing." But anyway, "Adore," "Sister," "When U Were Mine," "Sometimes It Snows in April," "Kiss," "Take Me With U," "The Beautiful Ones," "Sign o' the Times," "The Cross"--there's a small list of Prince songs that sound the most like the "singing" you seem to be looking for.

I have 4 and 5 (Live 1966 and Live 1975), which are both superb. Actually, #5 is probably the Dylan album I end up listening to most often.

Saw today that the soundtrack is Bootleg Series #7. Worth it? Everytime I listen to Blood on the Tracks or Blonde on Blonde, it is my favorite album for as long as I'm listening to it.

I love that Locke's dad is played by the guy who hires Patrick Swayze to clean up the town in Road House.

Last week I saw the Wrens play a small show, and afterwards I talked to them for a while. There was no hugging, but we did talk about Prince a lot, and someone videotaped it. I hadn't shaved for four days at that point, which yielded the largest density of stubble I've cultivated in some time.

But legitimately. I pick Fooster, 5_Moves_of_Doom, Coat, and someone I wouldn't have thought of. Though Piss might know him too.

There will be four other people who get that.

The OaO Arrested Development Season 3 thread

The sad camping pose had me falling apart. What a great return. -
Yeah, neither Clemson nor Boston College will probably be in the top third of the ACC once the year shakes out. I really don't think an ACC team gets to the Rose Bowl unless FSU has a really lucky season, which is possible--they've already beaten Miami and BC, and don't play Virginia Tech. End-of-the-year against Florida will probably kill them, though, if running into NC State's defense doesn't. Probably a good chance for a one-loss team to come out of the Big Ten and make the Rose Bowl, if Texas loses somewhere in there.

I agree that that's about where OU belongs, but CollegeFootballNews is largely pretty worthless. They ride hype machines harder than anyone else, and they change their opinions of a given team from "likely BCS champ" to "total disappointment" in the span of a week, or vice-versa. Not much for the big picture. I enjoy reading their stuff just because there's so much content each day that there's usually something interesting, but as far as analysis goes, there are only one or two guys on that site who can write about college football worth a damn.

I've decided I'm going to be a bit disappointed if there isn't a Burger King in the hatch.

ACC games were fun today, if pretty much unsurprising. Georgia Tech rolled UConn despite Reggie Ball being in the hospital with An Undisclosed Illness, Wake and Duke actually got wins (eat dick, East Carolina and VMI!), UVA grew up a bit but still played too close in a win over Syracuse, FSU whooped BC with strong play in the first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes, Miami proved that they're okay but not great yet against Clemson, North Carolina put up a potent 3 points against Wisconsin, and Maryland's anemic offense continued to shit itself. And NC State and Virginia Tech each won their games by like a million points.
-
Holy shit. Isn't UC Davis not even I-AA--they're division II, aren't they? Or at least were a few years ago.
-
BC is really throwing FSU around out there. Poor Weatherford--even when he's hitting his receivers, they're dropping the passes. I think BC's going to hold on and end up with a 7-10 point win the way this is playing out. Texas Tech has the high point total of the day with 66 against D-IAA powerhouse Sam Houston State...in the third quarter.

I'm pulling an OU this year.

The little-heard but very excellent "Indo Smoke," by Mista Grimm, featuring Warren G and Nate Dogg. Like "Regulate" or "Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Can't Have None)"? You're set.

Black people really ARE evil! You showed me. Why are you wasting anyone's time with this crap.

Was that a live sample, or something you found?
