Pitt will be better by the end of the year and probably still contend for the Big East BCS bid, but it's sure not going to be a significant improvement over Walt Harris this year. For OU/UCLA, I'm getting visions of another 200-yard game from Peterson, dragging the Sooners kicking and screaming to a win despite their best efforts otherwise.

This was a much happier thread for the first 6 words.

I listened to More Adventurous a few times over the summer. Enjoyed it all right at the time, but it didn't stick with me at all. Lunchbox is a girl's name.

I think I've made this argument before, but I believe that most people who complain about Radiohead being pretentious or alienating or shitty or whatever haven't heard The Bends. It's just a bunch of great fucking songs. That's one of those albums that I think anyone who enjoys music can get into very easily.

I saw that Bones in the theater. Wonderful This Bones, I have yet to see.

So I just whipped through the 16 episodes I hadn't seen in about 5 days. What a fucked-up crazy cool show.

I remember the fantastic picture of him covered in "blood" from before he was a well-renowned internet personality. Britney's still probably more hardcore. -

One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn't belong. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Miami deserves a rank simply based on Kyle Wright's play in the 4th quarter. He'll be a good quarterback this year and the rest of the talent will get in shape within a few games. If they beat a fairly impressive Clemson team next weekend, I'd be comfortable sitting them in the top 20. Actually, the team I think is too high in Iggy's rankings is FSU. Though they beat Miami, they did so in truly ugly fashion. The front seven played ridiculously well, but more experienced ACC QBs will chew that secondary up. Top 10 they're not, not until one of the two new quarterbacks gets a little more experience under his belt first. Georgia Tech I'll buy for now, though I'm expecting a few traditional Reggie Ball meltdowns as the season goes along. They did look great in the Auburn win, though.

I feel like it would be really funny if Oklahoma still beat Texas this year. Iowa State/Iowa isn't terribly surprising. Hawkeyes will probably get back in it, but this has been a pretty even rivalry in recent years. Wasn't Iowa State the only loss for Iowa in '02, before they played USC in the Orange Bowl?

Haha. Rece Davis on Chad Henne's fourth-down incompletion: "And Chad Henne completes the pass to some guy in the student section." BROKE.

Irish fans have got to be infinitely happy that Urban Meyer chose Florida. Weis has done some great stuff so far. Clemson/Maryland is a 3-point game with 4 minutes to go. Two mid-level ACC teams putting on a great show. Edit: And the instant I type that, Reggie Merriweather breaks off a 38-yard TD run on third down. Clemson leads by 4 with 3 minutes left.

Mole really is a beard guy. Something would be off without it.

Ragging on people for donating money to help provide relief in the wake of a massive natural disaster is SO METAL. Dumbass.

"White nationalist" websites are fascinating. Never will you find a group of people more out of touch with the world.

Blood In My Eye? We're kidding, right?

I'm a Florida State fan tonight. Any ACC loss Miami takes makes it that easier for my boys to make a run at the Coastal.

It's definitely only because I'm in college, Dub Cee. People falling asleep in my living room happens often enough, though admittedly we usually just roll out to one of the local holes for brunch come morning.

The Bond martini is sharp. Really good. My favorite way to do a martini is dirty; same as it ever was, but with a healthy splash of olive juice and an extra olive or two floating around in there. A quick shake of white pepper is interesting too. Oh, and if you're making your own, be sure you have dry vermouth for a martini. Sweet vermouth is good for Manhattans, which are basically the same damn thing except subbing in bourbon for vodka or gin. I still like bourbon better straight-up, but a Manhattan'll do.

If I ever need to make breakfast/brunch for a bunch of people, I do something pretty close to Agent's recipe, but usually take out the bacon and serve it on the side with toast. Anything you fry up in a pan with peppers, onions, and sausage will, as a rule, be the best thing you eat for a week. Over-light is my preferred style, but it's tough to make them well with the shitty kitchen utensils I have, so I usually just save that for going out. Brunch out today was two eggs over light with a pile of corned beef hash, a bowl of fresh grits, and a pair of silver dollar pancakes. $6. I love the south.

Back to the lecture at hand: I've listened to Late Registration many times over the past few days, and have determined that it is at least very, very good, and remarkable for two reasons in particular: 1) Making Adam Levine not only tolerable, but great as used on "Heard Em Say," and 2) Getting a fantastic verse out of Paul Wall, which I didn't think was possible. "Heard Em Say," "Drive Slow," "Gold Digger," "Hey Mama," and "Gone" are the peaks, I think. Real fine album with superior beats as compared to the debut--less repetition, more thump, more experimentation. The beat (or lack thereof) on "Roses" is a bit dizzying. Good times.

Aligning yourself with Angora Jellyfish in a music thread is like signing up for the Polish army reserve.
