I watched the pilot last week. First episode I'd ever seen. I think I'll watch from here on out, and stuff!

Bought a linksys to match, and now everything is fine. The DI-524 is just a bargain basement router, it seems.

Cobra's pretty freaking great. The Alien Bounty Hunter from X-Files is busting up prices. The scene with Brigitte Nielsen and those fucking robot statues cracks my ass up every time. If you want a really weird experience, listen to the George P. Cosmatos director commentary. He basically just describes what's happening on screen, slowly, and in broken English, occasionally saying how much he likes certain songs. Songs that, sometimes, I'm pretty sure aren't even in the movie.

One of my favorite things about Commando is that most of the film rests on the premise that Bennett is an equal match for John Matrix. He's a chubby Australian guy in leather pants and chain mail, and I love it.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
Edwin MacPhisto replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
Finally saw this yesterday. It sucked, the end. Much better than either of the other two prequels, still pretty lousy overall. Fun to see how all the plotting came together, but devoid of anything really gripping except maybe for the first half of the Samuel L./Emperor scene. And of course, anything involving Yoda was kinda fun. Still, all the shiny computer graphics in the world and miserable writing to match can't make up for the wit and care put into the original movies. Revenge of the Sith is entirely forgettable, unless you're desperately insistent on remembering it. -
"Rabbit in Your Headlights," UNKLE featuring Thom Yorke? I don't remember the demolishing car, but that's the only video I know with a guy getting hit by cars again and again. On the Pixies, I guess the "Alec Eiffel" video is the closest they've come to doing a video that was kinda serious or at least supposed to be "cool." The "Velouria" one is my favorite for the same reasons Fooster illuminated.

I didn't feel like eating dinner, so instead I went shelf-shopping, and ended up with the new remaster of Gang of Four's Entertainment, along with a used copy of Husker Du's Warehouse: Songs and Stories, which I'm absolutely loving.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

In those two weeks, by the way, I graduated college and bought zero CDs. What the hell is wrong with me. -

Make a punch with the instant powder. All other methods are generally foul. What a shitty "first post in two weeks" for me to make. -
Hmm. "Obstacle 1," "NYC," "The New," "C'mere," "Not Even Jail." Maybe. I usually just recommend a listen-through of a whole album.

From top to bottom: Mini-muffins Ho Hos Ding Dongs Twinkies Cupcakes Suzy Q's Snowballs Snowballs are freakin' weird.

First runner-up.

Liar. But I also think that Interpol's also far and away the best band on that list. Maybe Queens of the Stone Age in their greatest moments.
-
My favorite Hostess product, and the least bad for you as well. Mad love for Twinkie the Kid.

It's been 7 hours and 15 days, since you took your love away.

I saw a new System of a Down video today. Lead singer guy looks like Ted Nugent now.
-
I love U2. Pop and earlier, at least, with about a third of that album being a sign of unfortunate things to come. The transition to being adult contemporary world-conscious dads hasn't served them too well.

The bra and panties match kicked ass!

It's worth watching Sportscenter to see it. It was seriously like a banana peel fall. "You can't play defense in these type of shoes." Nice, Avery.

People who don't shut the fuck up during movies

I was gonna say. Yikes. You're gonna get hand cramps from holding the bowl. -
You heard Bungle's s/t or California yet? California, yes. I really, really like it. Way easier to just hop into than Disco Volante. Not sure if it's qualitatively better, but it's very, very good at least. They're at a weird juncture: they've gone as high as 7 on the Billboard charts, are hovering somewhere around there now, have sold 2 million copies-plus mostly on the strength of "Mr. Brightside," yet still have a sort of scenester college-rock cred with the kids. The only other recent rock album that's stayed that high on the charts for that long is Green Day's, so I guess they do fit "hot new band."

The 2005 MTV Movie Award Nominees

Visit a university. College kids love it. I'm kind of indifferent. -
Rated R, by the way (or just R depending on who you ask), is a favorite of mine. Especially "I Think I Lost My Headache," which someday I'll use as a backing track for an orgy or a murder.

Biological sister or figurative sister, that there's a fuckin' song.
