Worst thing you ever laughed at?

Well, there was a guy at my high school who accidentally killed a woman while driving in his Jeep Wrangler. Apparently she was carrying groceries, and they all flew up in the air, quite comically.

    Hi, I banned Anglesault

Maybe he'll actually get a job or something now.

You should check out "Roll Call," which I think is better, and has a fun Ice Cube verse.

I get to see the Pixies tomorrow night.

They're all fat now, which leads me to believe that they'll be excellent.

    Fox's Midseason...

So 24's premiering with a 2-hour Sunday ep, and having another hour the next day? I'm not sure I like that. The first hour or two of each season has been some of the most intriguing stuff, since it takes so long to get your bearings as to what's going on. I liked having that spaced out over a couple of weeks. Still, I'll gladly take the run to the end of the season without any gaps.

    How many of you

No clue. I don't dare question science.

    How many of you

There's a guy in one of my classes who wears the same one every day. It's starting to get all mildewy.

No. I really like his verse, and the one following it, what bring that song down is the third verse is a notable step down, and yeah, the hook coulda been better. His verse, however, is as good as anything on Thug Matrimony, and I love Thug Matrimony, in case you haven't noticed me say it before. I'm pretty sure my roommate's getting me Thug Matrimony for Christmas, and I'm pretty sure I'm getting him Me and My Brother. We're the coolest upper middle class white kids around.

    New NaS album: Streets Disciple

I was thinking about checking this out, but I don't know if I can handle two discs. God's Son was okay, but with his track record, I don't really trust Nas to fill up that much time.

Does anybody out there like good country music?

Remember that guy who changed his user name to CASH after Johnny Cash died? That was the best. I think the "Hurt" video is really funny, especially when he holds up that glass of wine and he's all shaky. I guess that makes me an asshole.

Is he on anything besides "What's Happenin"?. I can't get into the hook on that too much. Over the past few months, "Letter to Memphis" has become one of my favorite Pixies songs, if not my absolute favorite. The guitar licks are pretty much revelatory. The fact that I get to see it performed live in 7 days makes me a happy clam.

    Notre Dame fires Willingham

It's somewhat the schedule, but it's got to be him, too. Like Vern said, the big Tennessee and Michigan wins this year seem like aberrations; getting whacked by BYU and Pitt suggests that the team isn't consistent enough to always get by the little guys. Until they can always beat those teams and sometimes pull ahead of the Michigans and USCs, Notre Dame's going to be playing 6-5 and 7-4 ball at best.

    Blink 182 - Blink 182

The singles I've heard off of this are definitely the least offensive of their career. That's all I have to judge. I still don't like them, but that "I Miss You" song is entirely fine until the really, really whiny vocalist comes in on the second verse.

    Preach to me!

This sounds like the worst idea for a band ever.

It's understandable. After that first run of incredible songs, it gets a bit bogged down in Kurupt and RBX verses. "Bitches Ain't Shit" is a great closer, though. Hey, I remember that creepy video they did way back that either had nazis or four-armed people in it, or something like that. "Dirt," I think. So the album's good, then?

    Greatest openings to songs?

I always mention the cheesy opening monologue from Prince's "Let's Go Crazy," and I'll do it again, damn it.

This Week in College Football 11/23 - 11/27

In somewhat of a surprise, the loser of the SEC Championship Game is headed to the Cotton Bowl. The Capital One has taken LSU, and the Outback has taken Georgia. Also, Virginia to the MPC Computers Bowl is now beyond speculation and into the realm of the official, with tickets onsale at the Virginia Athletics website. The Edwin Suicide Watch is on.

UConn's on their way to the Motor City Bowl. The floor's fallen through on UVA's Independence Bowl deal, because they needed Syracuse or UConn to take the MPC Computers bid. Since the game in Boise has an ACC contract, Virginia is obligated to go, as the Boise folks refuse to release the bid. So I don't get to go to a bowl game, and an 8-3 #18 team in the country has to head out west to play a game with absolutely no upside. Either they beat Fresno State and no one cares, or they lose and look like absolute champs for losing on blue turf in front of 8,000 people. The ACC seriously needs to get new bowl contracts next year. It has what are probably the two worst bowls in the country (MPC Computers in Boise and Champs Sports in Orlando), and not nearly enough marquee games for what will be a 12-team conference. Apparently the conference is going to make a play for the Cotton or Capital One Bowls, since their contracts come up for the 2005-2006 season, and such a move can't come quickly enough. If this is actually going to grow into a league on par with the SEC, then it needs far better bowl match-ups and locations that fans will actually pay to go to. 2 Big East opponents, a WAC opponent, a bottom-of-the-barrel Big XII opponent, and a mid-level SEC opponent does not an exciting post-season make.

I'm a fan of "To Kill A Hooker." Just what it sounds like, guys. Dre's raps on the latter album are brought down big-time by the fact that Ice Cube was no longer around to help write them for him. I'm fascinated by the cycle of departures, betrayals, and diss tracks within the whole N.W.A. family, really. "No Vaseline" on Death Certificate is probably the best thing to come out of it all.

    Repair.

    It needs more guitars.

Niggaz4life is definitely a land of wonder production-wise. I still like Straight Outta Compton's sound very much, though the second half of the album does tend toward some tinniness. On a similar subject: I downloaded the Ying Yang Twins' "Georgia Dome" last night, after seeing IDRM talk about it last week. It's pretty vile, but also quite wonderful. A terrible beauty is born.

    Notre Dame fires Willingham

Well, the stage is pretty much set for Urban Meyer to swoop in, considering that Notre Dame is one of the three schools who job he can take at no penalty to himself. Hope Utah has someone else lined up...

Probably. I imagine they were impressed with the amount of fans WVU brought last year - they have a rep for travelling really well. Read in the Washington Post today that it's looking increasingly likely that Virginia will head to the Independence Bowl, which is pleasant. Gambling boats, here I come. Syracuse is likely to be the sap that gets sent out to Boise, a reasonable fate for only going 6-5 and being the only D-I program to lose to Temple.

Bored's College Football Pick 'Em - Week 13

My thoughts exactly. Yikes. I see maybe 2 or 3 possible upsets, but I'm not sure I have the balls to pick them.
