It wasn't that bad a call. The third-and-three should have been a catch, but I've seen MANY worse blown calls this bowl season. Close judgment, small pass. They made an excellent call on the USC incompletion in the end-zone, so I'm willing to give them a break on a tiny misstep.

Dama, we've still got to last three days till the Sugar Bowl. You may want to tone down the OU mania, or we're all going to stop talking to you and put you in the corner again. Unsurprisingly, the Rose Bowl is already the best game of the day. Hoo-hah.

Aquemini, probably my favorite rap album ever. Stankonia is a really close second, but it gets a tad murky towards the end. I wouldn't say that every - or any - Outkast album is a concept album. Nothing they've done except maybe The Love Below could really be called a concept album. But, all their albums, especially from Aquemini on, are extremely coherent, cohesive, and consistent in mood and manner, which works fine for me. Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is back at number 1 on the Billboard charts, by the way. 3.1 million copies of a double album solid in 15 weeks, it's never dropped out of the top ten, and the first pair of singles are still the #1 and #2 songs in the country. Amazing.

Blind hate'd be better than looking at that and the rest of the crap-pretentious vom Creed has spewed up over the past few years. Now, I don't know why they're the worst band of this year. They kept a pretty low profile throughout 2003. I'd probably hand it to Good Charlotte myself.

Is the USA ready for a female president?
Edwin MacPhisto replied to pappajacks's topic in Current Events
I'll be surprised if we get a female president before we get a black president. And I don't think Hilary Clinton has a wing or a prayer for winning in 2008. -
From 3rd to 14th in just half a day. Damn blowouts. I honestly thought the streaking WVU team would put up a much bigger fight. Well, you can take me out of the running for winner this time. Glory, swiped away!

Unfortunate. All the games are blowouts so far, and not really fun to watch. Time to switch to movies till the Rose Bowl is on. Doesn't help that all my picks are the ones getting blown out, too.
-
And now Capital One has started with a big sack on David Green, and I'm up to the pain of switching between three games. Damn yous, scheduling!

Block punt ---> touchdown = Iowa up, 27-7. If they can keep rattling Chris Leak, Iowa's going to coast to a surprisingly easy win. I'm surprised at how sloppy UF's been today.

This reads really comically.

Huh. She lives in my town. ::goes searching::

Queer Eye for the Fandom Guy [amusing little fic]
Edwin MacPhisto replied to Yuna_Firerose's topic in Television & Film
Best post I've seen in weeks. Magnificent. -
Madonna, good choice. I'd get behind Run-DMC but I think they'd be more likely as far as rap acts go - and perhaps not out-of-line - to go with Dr. Dre.
-
The main story is that its ratings weren't good enough for the show's prohibitive cost. Fox never really got behind it marketing-wise, either. It's very strange - they picked up an expensive show helmed by one of TV's best-regarded writers, and didn't care to let anyone know they had it.

Chicken lady was on just last week. Classic. I really want the DVD set, but it's awfully pricey for something that's so readily available for free.

::points to user title:: I read this and had a blah feeling about it. I think it's a very bad idea. As much as Whedon can be a similar writer to Grant Morrison (and I bring it up cause I love Grant's work on this and Invisibles so much), I don't think he's right for the environment New X-Men has going right now. Nor the pace - we all saw what happened when Quitely couldn't draw on time (ugh Ivor Kordey ugh), and I see Joss as the type of guy to fall behind similarly on his writing deadlines. It took him ages to get Fray out, and the man nearly died when he had Buffy, Angel, and Firefly going at the same time on TV. To keep up with a demanding, high-quality monthly, I think he's going to have to step back from Angel again and put off the Firefly movie, and I'm not sure he would want to do either. Joss on three major projects at once = bad idea for all projects involved. Also, the dispute over the lingering line in the X-Men movie ("The same thing that happens when anything else gets struck by lightning") really should fall on Berry, who read it in the same irritating, stoic, blase way she did every other Storm line. Whedon intended that one to be a goofy throwaway, not something so ridiculously earnest.

I never really had any feuds. E.

Where's Spurrier going to go? There aren't exactly a lot of prominent vacancies in D-I right now, and after his flop with the Redskins, I doubt any of the 6 pro teams looking for coaches will think about paying off his $15 million.

I wonder if Ron Silver and the Wachowskis are kicking themselves over the "6 months, 2 movies" plan, or are content to roll around in the rest of their money.

If a character gets really high faith, he or she may walk away from your party to find religion. It can't happen with Ramza, though, so don't boost over 90 and you should be fine. No offense, but your party sounds mad boring. Squires! Chemists! It might not have been the most efficient way to play the game but I had Time Mages with black magic, singing Lancers, two-fisted Monks, and all sorts of nutty stuff like that. For me, half the fun of the game was just creating outrageous parties and seeing what I could pull off.

Started a new topic because the last one had more than its share of unrelated jibba-jabba throughout and some hairy man dressed as Faye Valentine. I just picked this up and have been playing for a good bit. Just moved into chapter 2, and here's my question: did I miss out on the chance to do all the extra stuff in chapter 1? I visited the Moonflow, Luca, Djose Temple, and Bikanel Desert, but didn't go anywhere else outside the hotspots. I didn't know going to Zanarkand would basically lock me out of any more exploration for the chapter. Will I have a chance to make up those places I didn't visit in that chapter, or do I just have to play the game again some other time to get 100%? I'm at something like 15% now. Avoid spoilers, by the by, though I imagine that's assumed.

Ian Gillan, "Gethesmane."

"Strawberry Fields Forever," probably. Honorable mention to "We Can Work It Out," "A Day In The Life," and "You Never Give Me Your Money."
-
Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill." Basically his first post-Genesis song, and a great one.

WOW. What an INSANE day. And with the way the Packers played today and the emotion that team's got going...I would not want to be whoever they're playing next week.
