bwaaa? Conference, sorry. I was more confused about the implication than the choice of terms; since Oregon's in the Pac-10 and Boise in the WAC, the only sort of championship chances this could affect would be those of the national variety. Also, I am thrilled that there is a Michigan Tech. It just sounds so...brutalist.

I guess these statements kind of sum up my general gripe with Aerosmith: "Last Child" isn't really that funky (it's just mid-tempo), and "Nobody's Fault" isn't very hard. They're a band that, even at their peak, very much occupies the middle. "Back in the Saddle" has a good riff, at least.

That View interview is completely surreal. He looks so scared on that couch.

The only fantasy comment I'll make all year: I had DeSean, my opponent has Westbrook. Priceless. This game has been pretty absurd. Despite all the points, neither team looks very good. Should make for a fairly fun year in the NFC East, though.

The part where LaDainian Tomlinson passed his magical powers into Darren Sproles body was pretty cool.

Meachum! I think Bob just ejaculated all over his house while screaming "who dat."

One advantage of being hopelessly devoted to a miserable team is that you always know exactly when to pick against them. Which is pretty much every week.

Looks like it was a combination of excellent defense and horrible ball control. Fumbles and the like all over, a lot coming out of Auburn's wrinkles on the spread offense. Ohio State actually looks pretty good tonight, but USC is just outclassing them in a million ways.

Auburn 3, Mississippi State 2. With 6 minutes left in the game. Yeeees.

Just wanted to let everyone know that UVA is currently down 42-3 to UConn, in the third quarter. Go Hoos!

Mimbs just punted the ball about 65 yards in the air from his goal line. South Carolina gets the ball on their 13 after stopping Georgia at the Georgia 10. That was awesome.

Javid Best just puked gatorade everywhere after getting racked up on a busted screen pass. The ESPN cameraman was zoomed in at just the right time. Perfect.

I, uh, didn't see that coming quite like that. That's a lotta points.

I can't believe I'm actually picking Duke to win a game. I think that's a first. THURSDAY Rutgers FRIDAY South Florida SATURDAY Duke Baylor Michigan Virginia Tech Oregon BYU Houston Oregon State Southern Miss Connecticut USC Wisconsin Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Ohio State/USC game? 52 Tiebreak #2: How many passing yards will BYU's Max Hall have against UCLA? 249

For Jingus, I will repeat myself: Your vote has an impact regardless of whether or not your choice wins a state's electoral votes. Shit, go vote for someone third-party if you really, truly dislike both of the major choices. Maybe you can help that party get on the ballot next time out.

I highly doubt that the fans booing is the only thing going on if the guy's freaking out this heavily. Deeper-seated problems at work, for sure. As for Brian Griese, I can't believe he's been in the league for a decade already. The role of journeyman quarterback/career back-up is one of my favorite little aspects of the NFL.

A lack of direct result from your vote can definitely be seen as a problem with the system, but what do you lose by voting? Two hours of one day? The "my vote is meaningless" statement relies on everyone else in the country going and voting, as opposed to taking that same "my vote is meaningless" approach. I agree that it would take something hilarious and amazing for Texas to come out any way but McCain, but that isn't really the point. How do you actually get to a situation that reflects your ideal candidate, as Agent was venting for? Go vote for the one closest to what you want. If one of them gets 3% more of the vote in Texas than the party's last nominee, that's a shift towards several things you believe are in your self-interest. Maybe a few more cycles like that will get your views closer to the party mainstream. I'm not fond of things both McCain and Obama have done or currently support, but ultimately I've done a calculus of what matters to me most and picked my guy. If you insist on a candidate who holds only positions you agree with, you will never be voting in your whole life. And if you're cool with that, okay, but that seems like much more of a waste than "throwing [your] vote away."

Colston's out 4-6 weeks with a thumb injury. Gross; the thumb and its various attachments are parts of the body I have totally irrational fear about getting torn up. On the bright side, Devery Hendersen gets another chance to drop everything thrown his way.

Does the gray on the coverage maps mean I'm not getting any early CBS game? Fucking Redskins.

And yet it's not retarded to proclaim a Conference USA team #1 in the nation after TWO games? I mean let's be real here. Virginia Tech was never going to win many games with Glennon as starting quarterback, and I believe West Virginia's success was partly Rodriguez. They weren't going to be as good as last year. There's nothing here that tells me they can beat a team like Oklahoma, Georgia, USC, LSU, Florida, etc. I don't care about rankings on projection; I personally rank on resume. If they lose a game, drop them. It's perfectly fine to have a different #1 every week. If we insist on having rankings throughout the year, they should be governed by performance and victories, not hypotheticals. No one has performed better than ECU right now. The hitch in the argument. You're right--this early in the season, there really shouldn't be any ranking, cause VT and WVU might be completely average teams this season. I suppose I'm operating on my own assessment of WVU and VT, who, based on personnel, coaching, and a lot of other things, I expect to be near the top of their conferences this year. In reality, you do need a sample of probably at least 1/3 of the season to make any judgments.

There is absolutely no reason for ECU not to be the #1 ranked team in the country on Monday. Preseason polls are retarded. That was complete and utter domination.

That was a fairly ill-timed bad snap, to say the least. Spielman is putting on the eye-black.
