It kind of seems like a terribly misguided effort to prove that there are, in fact, new ideas to be filmed/written/etc. I would have expected a typical Adam Sandler movie to either go with the "Mossad-guy-turns-it-in and moves to New York" or the "women love this wacky flamboyant sex maniac hairdresser" premise, not both of them.

A very large part of Watchmen's appeal is its visual composition and organization, which is some of the best I've seen. I think that's what most fans' references to "it's even better the second time" are; once you have the story digested, you can get more out of the absurd levels of detail in the individual panels. And that's definitely not on everyone's priority list.

It should also be noted that the days of WVU's Dingle and Berry sitting side by side are over, as DE Johnny Dingle has declared. Maryland LB Erin Henderson is on his way to the pros too.
-
Virginia OG Branden Albert has also declared. Don't know what he's doing--he could use another year--but he'll make someone happy in the 4th round.

That comment having -6 approval is a shame.

This trailer played before Juno. I liked it about as much as Citizen Soldier.

I'd posit that the fact they're doing a song and promotional video for the National Guard is evidence that they're not.

Hey, I won on New Year's Eve, I think. It's my first time not choking miserably in this thing!

Man, the primaries are silly.

I've seen it at both Regal and AMC theatres. It's a universal terror.

It's probably okay if you live there. The downtown is half-dead after 9 pm, it's dull sprawl, and 2/3 of the bars are strip clubs. Which isn't necessarily a terrible thing, but gives you a taste. We had fun, though, and the stadium's really nice, if not conducive to games with only 45,000 people there.

Just got back from Jacksonville. Amazing 4-day bender despite it being the shittiest city in the world, wonderful Gator Bowl game until the last 3 minutes. A combination of terrible calls and a backup QB fumbling at the goal line ruined my day. I'm usually not one to blame officiating, but I was standing right next to the jumbotron and Crabtree wasn't even close to in-bounds on Texas Tech's TD. No clue how they couldn't overturn that. I've missed all the other bowl games, but it sounds like I really haven't missed much at all, except maybe the Capital One.

I feel like I'm seeing a lot more games than usual that have a guy putting up massive rebound numbers. I think yesterday's games had a 17, a 20, a 21, and a 22.

This bowl season may have brought me around on wanting a playoff. Normally I'm all about the bowls, but I probably haven't watched more than an hour of any game so far and missed most of them entirely. Not sure what it is.

I really hope they stuck with the kids in Season 5. Just finished Season 4; it's pretty obvious that Michael and Duquan will be back, but I'm hoping Randy and Namond get some attention as well. The four of them had some of the best character arcs in the whole show in just the single season.

I think the question kinda still applies.

I can't wait for the new Angels and Airwaves.

I've heard a mere 4 of those albums. Ho-hum. I've been slacking this year more than ever as far as new releases. LCD Soundsystem, Animal Collective, Panda Bear, Stars of the Lid, and The National win, I guess. I've also only listened to it once, but the Wu-Tang album seems pretty cool too, even if it is painfully long.

Don't waste your time with grad school unless you can't get a decent job without it. MA programs, as much as I loved mine, are cash cows for universities and don't give you much more than the chance to get in the door for an interview. I would think harder about jobs before returning to the loving bosom of grad school, where you will learn almost nothing, dislike it most of the time, and realize 6 months in that you wish it were over. That goes doubly true for law school. Anyone I've ever known who's gone to law school without really liking law has come out hating it and the fact that they now have to be a lawyer to pay back their loans.

Saw this last weekend. It's awesome. Hilarious and really good. During the first 10 minutes or so I worried that it was going to be indier than thou and painful to watch a la Garden State, but it settles down after the opening drugstore scene. Ellen Page is pretty fantastic, and Michael Cera continues to be great playing a slight variation on his usual character. It's pretty much peak work for all the notable actors in it.

I have a similar correlation with Guitar Hero. Maybe I should work on my jump shot Saturday nights.

16 differing picks! That's what I'm talking about!

Yeah, I'll do this at work tomorrow. Glad I waited to see the FSU suspensions and Rodriguez departure, which now means I'll feel smart when I take Kentucky and Oklahoma and dumb when they each lose handily.

Yes. I think it's gorgeous psychedelia with vocals that are largely moan-free. Worlds different.
