How do people here feel about BlackWater
Edwin MacPhisto replied to NoCalMike's topic in Current Events
Most of the Blackwater guys I've met are total knuckledraggers. I'm going to borrow the book from one of my co-workers when she's done reading it, I suppose. -
I actually only kind of liked this episode since it felt to me that the writers paced it as if Locke's dad being Real Sawyer was a big shocker, when anyone who's watched the show probably guessed that like the 2nd or 3rd time we saw Locke's dad making Locke hilariously miserable. But I do like that the "flashbacks" were strictly on-Island, though I'll probably just hate it even more when the regular ones come around now. The whole fertility thing is brutally retarded though, and I find it hilarious that the show is looking to turn all the women it hasn't shot in the gut into baby factories. I feel like Richard was speaking for me when he was talking about how everyone's tired of this fertility nonsense. I love that Road House guy though.

Nice Road House reference with Sawyer being from Jasper, Alabama, and Locke's dad being Kevin Tighe.

Lost is probably the only show where I've gone from watching regularly to checking spoilers too. The episodes in the second half of the season (I'm talking at least post tattoo flashback) have improved a lot, but I still don't care about much beyond an explanation for stuff after that ass first-half of season 3.

Those targets can't try to steal your TV.

I actually like the 45-minute ones best in terms of pacing. I worry a bit that hour-long shows could wear thin and really force them to accelerate their production schedules, making things a lot rougher and more hit or miss.

Also, no one's hating the Eagles because they get played a lot on the radio; they're being hated for being absolutely fucking awful. And that Hinder comparison is really, really stupid and inaccurate. Nope. Pretty much dead on. Two pretty-boy bands writing songs for girls and twits. "Pretty-boy"? Really? They're even worse in motion.

Seems like a larger crop of recognizable names than past years. Seeing Justin Vincent undrafted in 2007 is so weird, since we all remember him as the Sugar Bowl dynamo who helped LSU win that national championship like, a bazillion years ago.

The broadcaster discussing the anniversary of the tragedy did mention that the "Linderman Act" had been passed 4 years earlier.

"In the City" gets some major summer airtime, usually because I watch The Warriors in the summer too. But it's really just Joe Walsh, not the Eagles.
-
I like a handful of songs, especially "Let the Cool Goddess Rust Away," "Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth," and "In This Home on Ice." The rest is hit or miss but I love those tracks. Haven't listened to the new album at all yet.

What I love about this episode--and show--is that it wasn't a gimmick episode. Yeah, it was the "future" episode, but it was obviously a huge driver of the plot, and not just a "what if" fantasy. Wonderful stuff.

Oh fuck is this awesome. I totally did not see that coming even with them talking about Candace.

It's getting into Tom Petty's greatest hits weather for me, and Beck's Odelay as well. "Jackass" and "Lord Only Knows" work better at 90 degrees. Also, I listen to The Blueprint and Stankonia much, much more often in the summer. I noticed this weekend that Slick Rick is perfect for lolling, 40 mph rides down two-lane Virginia highways.

I'm not watching the episodes ahead of time so I've gotta stay out of this thread. Too risky.

Rap albums: 1. Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die 2. Wu-Tang - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) 3. Outkast - Aquemini 4. Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle 5. Jay-Z - The Blueprint Though the rest of Byron's could fit in the top 10-20 pretty comfortably.

I've never heard of anything like that happening. I think you've got termites.

More like you blows.

Kind of hard to jump in now after, like, 18 episodes of background, character development, and storylines. Check the rest out on DVD when it's released.

You're hanging out, drinking Sunkist Soda, sharing good vibes with your friends. Those are Sunkist Orange moments.

I didn't think it could get much worse for them than biting Supertramp and having the most bored-sounding rapper I've ever heard, but they pulled it off.

I read some spoilers. Desmond's foe is in fact

Great episode. I love how unhinged everyone is getting, from Corinne's dream to Shane flipping out constantly, all the way to Vic going apeshit in the hospital when he couldn't save somebody who was trying to do a good thing. Vic going soft is terrifying, because "Vic going soft" just means that he's actually becoming more destructive more often.

Marv's feelin' the h-bomb! And I mean hypochondria, not herp.
