    Barack Obama's Inauguration

Inauguration rentals in the greater DC area are already insane. My coworker's been offered $3500 for three nights in her shitty 2BR/den on Capitol Hill. All the hotels are already booked, so super-enthusiastic Obamamaniacs and people with money to burn are trying to lock up residential housing. Time to make that cheddar and spend a few nights on the street, y'all.

It wouldn't be that dissimilar to what happened with Oklahoma in 2003, and that Kansas State team didn't have nearly the public stature of this year's Gators. In some apocalyptic title game scenario with crazy losses all over the place in the last weeks of the season, any 1-loss team would have a hell of a shot.

Alabama and Florida won't play till the SEC championship, but otherwise, yeah, chaos is surely still possible. Also, is losing to Ole Miss really much worse than losing @ Oregon State? If Oregon State does win out, okay, but right now they look like a decent mid-level team. I don't really care about those losses, but believe UF has had a tougher road so far--and will only get tougher the rest of the way, given that Alabama and FSU remain while USC only has decent Stanford, decent Notre Dame, and awful UCLA. In Sagarin, UF has the 9th toughest schedule right now while USC has the 26th, and the separation between the two should increase as the year goes on.

    Barack Obama's Inauguration

Well, here's a basic response: the medical research industry isn't exactly awash with cash. There's a big difference between guys in a lab doing medical research and the broader medical/health care/pharmaceuticals/whatever industry. I believe most access to materials and funding of big-time research comes from government grants.

    Einstein Bros. Bagels

I've never been a huge fan of Einstein Bros. I got spoiled on the local place in Charlottesville, which kettle cooks their bagels and is obscenely cheap. There's a deli right by my office that does a mean sausage, egg, and cheddar bagel, but the pre-packaged bagel is definitely the least impressive part of it.

I don't even think they'd need to blow Florida out. A 12-1 SEC champ Alabama would have a hard time getting left out of the game, considering that the most likely matchup excluding the SEC champ is two Big XII South teams, and you know the voters would do everything in their power to avoid the same-conference rematch, as they did in 2006.

    Fallout 3

If you want to see something tremendously sick, check out the east side of the Capitol Building at night, near the Ranger hideout. The gigantic battle I came across looked like something out of Terminator.

Yeah, that was absurd. Not like it matters, but that was definitely one of the worst review calls in recent memory.

Hardest pick: "Suspicious Minds" over "She's Not There." I only felt okay about it because "Time of the Season" lingers. Fallout 3

    1. Check every box and carry whatever you can. Also, go a little northwest of Vault 101 near Springvale Elementary, and you'll find a former resident of Megaton from whom you can between 300-400 caps very easily via several different potential paths. You may be able to use speech to get either the Sheriff or the shady guy in Moriarty's to give you 500 caps for doing the things they ask you to do. If speech fails, you can still get 100 or so. 2. The other important thing to note about hacking is that 4 failures locks the terminal permanently. If you get to your third word choice and don't know the answer, back out and try again, and the password will reset. 3. I'm playing a character with 7 charisma and decent early game barter stats, and I basically pay 1 cap per round on any ammo. Save ammo by forgoing VATS and using melee weapons on animals and bugs. 4. Yeah, avoid those dudes. I had to flee them as well.

Wow, seriously? Not even 3 seasons? That's kind of surprising, as I really expected him to at least get a 4th year. Half his recruits haven't even gotten into the system yet.

    Fallout 3

My roommate logged a ton of hours this weekend and I started a character the other day. Love it already, only about four hours in. Now that I've gotten a handle on how to balance VATS and real-time combat, I'm really enjoying all aspects of the engine. I'm only at Megaton (after spending a little time clearing out Springvale Elementary and piling up gear), but I can already see that this is going to be just like its predecessors in terms of having tremendous replayability.

    Barack Obama's Inauguration

I don't want to interrupt the circle jerk, but I think it's pretty goofy to suggest that "the majority of mainstream America is not in favor of it" is a valid reason for denying basic civil rights to a marginalized group. I like democracy and all, but I'm not particularly fond of it as a determinant of whether someone's functional husband/wife can visit them in the hospital, etc.
