Eh, I think we can. I mean all we have to do is stay out of the box. Oh and Nashville chance of going far in the playoffs is fucked now because Vokoun is out for the season with some sort of symptons in his blood.

Oh, we can dominate against Ottawa and stay on top against the Rangers. Begin is out for a few weeks and Abby is getting the nod for tomorrow.

If Brodeur wasn't playing like Brodeur, Montreal should have won easily last night. It should have been 6-3 Montreal if it wasn't for Brodeur.

    The Canada/Russia Summit Series

Now I'm not going to add this to the NHL thread, because simply, this is the greatest hockey series or even professional series ever showcased in sports history. The reason why I am making this thread because on CBC (for Canadians) have a special on the '72 Summit Series between Canada and Russia, and I'm just wondering if anyone else is watching it. So far its pretty good and it shows how cocky we were before the series was even started, not just the press but the players and coaches as well. Will probably post later.

Damn, I wish Freddie would have won, or at least alone at second, but it shows you that you do not need to lengthen the course to suit for the long ballers. Good show by both Canadians both finished for a tie for 11th.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

They're really wonderful, The Go! Team. Unreal live, if you ever get the chance. I listen to that album all the damn time. As for ballpark music...Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll part II"? I don't know much else it might be. I was going to suggest that, but its mainly used for Hockey though.

I'd nominate Steve Kerr, just because I was a mark for him back in the days like him, Tony Kukoc and Luc Longley.

Considering anyone can really win this thing, and no one hasn't really lit up the course that good this week.

Phil Mickelson is in the lead. CG is probably going apeshit right now. I watched this special on the FBR Open about the 16th hole at Scottsdale. The fans are nuts there, but I so want to join.
  11. Starship Troopers 3/10 Denise Richards does the best no sell in the history of the world in this movie. Gets a giant claw through her shoulder and was able to still use her right arm to hoist a machine gun and fire with no affects of the wound at all. Not even Hogan could no sell that.

The Kings damn sure won't get Nick Lidstrom, he's the next captain of the Red Wings, and he's gonna be a Wing until he retires. I don't see them getting Sakic for the same reason. However, I don't think the Sens will be able to keep both Redden and Chara (which sucks ass, one bad thing about the cap), so they could possibly sign one of those two with Ottawa keeping the other I just listed the big UFA's, even though I know Lidstrom and Sakic aren't leaving their respective teams. I know the Kings are going to do something big, which while exciting, is frustrating. I thought the Avs at the beginning of the year weren't exercising on any options on keeping Sakic any more.

I would assume that Hartford would still be in the Atlantic Division, but I mean they had some good games against Beantown and Montreal years back.

Pittsburgh could be moved to Hartford! PITTSBURGH (AP) - A Massachusetts developer wants to buy the Penguins and either keep the hockey team in the city or move them to Hartford, Conn., where he is trying to get state officials to build a new arena, a newspaper reported Friday. Lawrence Gottesdiener told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that he owns a great deal of property in Hartford, so moving the team there makes sense for him. "I see a really exciting future for that team," Gottesdiener told the newspaper. "If it can't be worked out in Pittsburgh ... we have a really huge real estate portfolio in Hartford." Then Penguins had no comment on the story Friday. "As a policy, we're not going to comment and we're not going to confirm or deny any of these inquiries," said Penguins spokesman Tom McMillan. Late last year, Gottesdiener told Connecticut officials that he had a plan to bring an NHL team to the city if they would help him build a new 16,000-seat arena in Hartford, where his company, Northland Investment Corp., of Newton, Mass., owns about $500 million US worth of real estate. The Penguins' lease on 45-year-old Mellon Arena, the oldest and smallest in the NHL, expires at the end of next season. Penguins owner Mario Lemieux is trying to sell the team and he has said a new owner would likely move out of Pittsburgh without a new arena. There are two proposals to build a new arena for the team in Pittsburgh. Both proposals are tied to gambling. Three companies are now seeking the right to open a slot machine parlor in Pittsburgh. Only one will win a license from the state to do so. One of the companies, Isle of Capri Casinos, has agreed to pay the entire cost for a new one if it is awarded the licence. City, county and state officials have countered with a backup plan that would require the Penguins to pay $8.5 million up front and make annual lease payments of $2.9 million. That plan calls for contributions from whichever gambling company wins the slots parlour licence. Penguins representatives Thursday discussed the backup plan with city and county officials. A Penguins consultant, David Morehouse, told the newspaper after that meeting that the team didn't learn enough about the proposal to decide whether to accept the alternative arena plan. "There are still a number of questions that have to be answered before we can determine if it's viable," Morehouse said. Among other things, he said it's not clear if Governor Ed Rendell could legally use slot machine proceeds to help fund the arena or whether another casino company would agree to contribute. Hartford lost its NHL franchise when the Whalers moved to North Carolina and were renamed the Carolina Hurricanes. Gottesdiener called the Penguins "an excellent entry point to get into the NHL. We've said that we're in this to buy an NHL team."

Hockey than Baseball. If you ever get a chance go see a soccer game (not some shitty MLS soccer, but when the European clubs tour North America) that is a great environment. Saw Celtic FC vs Roma in 2004, fucking nuts.

I'm surprised that after the first period that it was 1-1 after Ottawa made 16 shots on Abby in the first. Higgins, Koivu and Ryder is probably the most feared line in the last month of hockey lately, and now with Kovalev scoring some points and Riberio with four tonight and Bulis who has 20 goals (W00T!). This is just awesome.
