Treble, Neidermyer and Jovonoski are miles ahead of McCabe. Better puck position awareness speed and leadership. The team does not lack in leadership (Sakic, Iginla, Redden, Doan, Smyth). The only players I do see out there playing consistantly is Nash, Doan, Smyth and Redden, and of course Luongo and Brodeur, but no one can question that.

Add a decimal point between the 1 and 9 and I'll be happy. Also the NHL and the referees have agreed to a four year deal as now the refs wont have to go on strike.
-
Treble and Barron will have nightmares with that. I've always thought he'd be a better d-man than what he normanlly is. For niskie sake, throw Hal Gill in, he might improve the States as well.

I think we should bring him back, just for old time sake.
-
McCartney should ax himself. I'd be a whole lot happier. (in hungover mode)

I think we can all agree that Canada's powerplay is pathetic out there. It seems that we have six Tomas Kaberle out there. At least Phaneuf isn't afraid of shooting, but he's not in Turin though.

Replace Lecav with Thorton and I'll agree with you.

When's the last time we had a thread about cover songs?

Disturbed cover of Shout was cool. Disturbed cover of Land of Confusion is not cool. -
I suppose you mean apart from that Conn Smythe trophy on his mantle, right? But does he have a Stanley Cup ring? I mean, Fuhr, Moog, Roy, Vernon all have them. Does Hextall?
-
Elton John version of the Pinball Wizard isn't that good.
-
Granted George Harrison doesn't get lots of credit for his guitar work (except when he passed) its pretty easily to overshadow it with the talent of Paul McCartney and John Lennon song writting. Solo's aren't really the Beatles niche as much as melody and structure.
-
True, but like almost all Flyers goalies in history, that they choke in the playoffs. I mean they must have read the book called "Goalies that choke" written by Ron Hextall.

Not sure who sang it first, but I prefer Bob Marley version of Redemption Song. Also Dave Mathews version of All Along The Watchtower is good as well. Tea Party version of Pain it Black is better than The Rolling Stones -
Oh there are grinders, its just no one is playing like a solid team out there. Too many I's on the team (Nash, Thorton, Heatley). Let this be known that this would be McCabe first, and last olympic experience, unless he decides to play smart. About Quinn. Quinn could never coach. He doesn't use his lines properly, and his style is not modern. There are better coaches to lead Canada (with two of them on the bench). Bring back Bowman, or hell even Pat Burns.
-
Why hasn't Montreal played Marc Streit much more often now. That game showed he's going to be a great leader on the ice for the PP and the PK. To comment on the game. This a reason why Quinn should not coach for Canada. He has no idea of putting lines together, and to motivate his team. Someone should mention that the Maple Leaf is RED not BLUE

This is going to haunt him during highschool.

Steve Moore should just give it up. No one fucking cares anymore.

10 Years for that? Pathetic.

Ya. Even though the Czechs lost to the Swiss, David Aebischer is not some no body. Though it really questions how strong is this Swiss team, or how bad is the Czechs defence is.
-
sfa is right. Its a draw because you cornered him into a stalemate, and not gone for the checkmate instead.
-
Mark fuckin Streit scored the PP goal to give the 3-2 edge, and also the Swiss team scored a shorthanded goal too.

Do you play second base?

Eric Clapton version of Knockin on Heaven door blows, and his attempt to cover I Shot The Shariff as well.
