Two things happened today in the NHL. Big Pussy and Fucking Dick (Steve Moore and his lawyer Ted Danson) filed a civil lawsuit against Todd Bertuzzi today. Also Cliff Ronning retired today as well.

King, did you even watch the Canada/Italy game? Canada played too cute at times, and caught themselves playing sloppy. I'll congrats to that Italian team because they played for their reputation out there, and not just getting blown out of the water against Canada. The Czechs didn't looks so good until the second period.

Toronto Maple Leafs: The team hasn't been to the Cup Finals since they last won it (1967). Solution: They have to get rid of the philosophy that old people don't win you cups. Toronto can't just pull a quick fix and get players, they need to revamp the whole team and their system. Basically a clean slate here with a new GM, new Coach, and basically new everything. While they have a great young talent pool they need to keep them and developing them, not using them for trade bait (Jason Smith, Alyn McCalley, Steve Sullivan). They should be explosive with a different style instead of a half-ass trap team.

Pretty good hockey game between Russia vs Slovakia. Don't underestimate the Slovaks.

Rebutal on your Russian team. Whats behind them? Sure you have that top line, but the team has no defence to compete with the Czechs and Canada, and the goaltending is questionable. If players like Kovalev, Malkalin start stepping up, then they will become a force, but to me the Russians aren't going to go to the gold medal game. Czech does have the depth, and seem to be balance, but like Canada the defencive core is not the greatest. (No one has a standout defence in this tourney). And if you make a team with no grinders you are not going to win. Doan, Smyth and Draper are great for that and Bertuzzi. Canada wants to repeat for success, not picking all-star calibar players with no PK players. Though I will question McCabe till the end of this tournament (Boyle, Phaneuf should replace him). Its going to be hard to get pass Brodeur and Luongo.

Power Metal last peak was probably around late 2001-2003, but was not as signifgant as in the resurgance from 97-98. Supposidly, Slayer is going to release an album in 2006 as well.

Canada with another medal for silver in cross-country skiing. And for the comment of Womens hockey. In a way they need to score as much as they can to prevent a tie-break.

Savard has been a consistant scorer throughout his career, and is an excellent passer. Just putting him on a line with Kovalchuk and Hossa has benefitted him.
