It's politics, what do you expect? Believe me, if the Republicans start making a stink about it, he'll resign from any positions of power he might have.
-
Okay... and he's NOT recieving harsh criticism over this? I hardly believe that Fox & Co. haven't picked this up and started bitching about it. It'll start spreading to the legitimate news sources soon, and thus, he'll resign next week. Politics as usual.

If you know anyone who has a bodyshop, you can probably steal some out of a totalled car. ... No, really. My stepfather owns one and jacked some $400 6x8's out of a totalled Volvo. My car fucking thumps now.

No. Lutherans, for example, are hardly fundamentalists.
-
Yes.

That could be said if you ran a cadaver against any politician

Pittsbuuuuuuuuuuuuuurgh STEELERS~!@!! 2003: Troy Polamalu, SS -- INC. Too early to tell, could go either way. Had flashes of greatness last year, though. 2002: Kendall Simmons, OT -- B-. Had a great rookie year, but due to diabetes in the offseason and shoulder surgery, was under strength and had a pathetic year this year. Could bounce back this year, though, and prove me wrong. 2001: Casey Hampton, DT -- A+. Been a Pro-Bowl stopgap for the Steelers and is one of the top 3 nose tackles in the NFL. 2000: Plaxico Burress, WR -- B+. When he's on, he's incredible. When he's not getting the ball, he's a whiny pissant. If he could catch the ball with his fucking hands instead of his chest, would be a superstar. Instead, is a very good player who will get good bucks in free agency next year. 1999: Troy Edwards, WR -- F-. Horrible.

I'm aware they're not one in the same, but the Baptist faith was originally an offshoot of Calvinism, and shared many of its bible thumping "OMG STOP DOING THAT!" ways, if I remember my Renaissance/Reformation Europe class correctly. And I mean, I don't drink caffeine, either; that may not have to do with his religious beliefs as much as his health concerns.
-
The anti-dancing thing, IIRC, was a Puritan thing. So, since its roots can be traced most closely to Calvinism, probably Baptist. FWIW, I don't blame Bush for this at all. But his spineless refusal to cut ties with this loon is directly related to the fact that he NEEDS the religious right to win in 2004. And if this is what he's willing to preside over, then he's gonna have to deal with the consequences.

Oh my fucking God. I know it's just a few minutes after the episode and we haven't had time to digest it and whatnot, but I truly think that was the best episode of 24 they've made. -

He's actually not. He used to be in the SWF over at IGN and then decided after like, two years to come back over here. He rarely posted for a while and then recently, apparently, started posting again. -
With the 11th pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select... Phillip Rivers, Quarterback, North Carolina State This represents a worst case scenerio for the Steelers, who were targeting the #1 defensive back on the board, the top running back (Jackson) or, perhaps, the #1 offensive tackle in the draft, although the latter is more of a stretch. However, in this scenerio, they'd be forced to settle for the third quarterback. This pick is a significant reach, considering Rivers' climb on most people's draft board was due to his outstanding Senior Bowl performance after the season. That's like saying the dude with a goal in the NHL All-Star game is a stud, though. If either Ben Roth or DeAngelo Hall is not available when their pick comes up on the real draft day, expect Pittsburgh to trade down rather than settle for the third quarterback. However, since their needs do not necessarily include a stud DE (Will Smith) or a lard ass, depressed, overrated tackle (Shawn Andrews) at 1.11, Rivers is the pick. On the bright side, Rivers is a proven winner and has uncanny accuracy in the pocket. He does, contrary to popular belief have the potential to be a franchise quarterback, but then again, if potential ruled the day, Ryan Leaf would be starting for the AFC every year in the Pro Bowl. Rivers will have to adjust to playing under center and handing the ball to Duce Staley in the 'Burgh, though.

Hey, if I'm on the clock before 5:00 PM EST, I'll be back at 5 to make my pick. I've gotta head to class.
-
Teehee. Mike Williams was rumored to have been at about a 4.75 in the 40 before he just got to a combine specialist last week. Read a good article on ESPN.com about that. Apparently, he's hoping to get around a 4.5 in the USC pro day workouts.
-
It's really based on the workout numbers. If he weighs in at close to what he was playing at, and if he runs, say, a 4.4... I can see a Willis McGahee-type situation with someone snagging him at the end of the first round (maybe even NE if they stay put)
-
Oh, no doubt. I still think he needs to get stronger before he can make a significant impact, though (i.e. he'll be pretty average as a rook). That was another unimpressive aspect of his workout, if I'm not mistaken. I also halfway expect Maurice Clarett to jump up to the first round if his workout is as good as I'm expecting it will be (he's working with combine specialists).
-
C'mon now. Let's stop using hyperboles. If Eli is still on the board, I'm sure the Steelers will snatch their QB of the future. Fair enough But they'd be elated if Taylor fell to them, and probably would take him over Ben Roth, who is also rumored to be falling.
-
The difference between KJ and Fitz, though, is that KJ's allure is his ability to break the long runs. If he's only got mediocre speed, that's a big downfall for him. He's already questionable inbetween the tackles, so Stephen Jackson might be a safer pick as a RB.
-
There is NO CHANCE he'd get past 11. The Steelers, with their secondary woes, would NEVER let a player of that caliber pass their spot, even if fucking Eli Manning is still on the board.
-
Me too. People who think Larry Fitz won't do well just because he didn't run a 4.3 are retarded. But, in all fairness, Taylor DID run like, a 4.6. That's definitely not burner speed. He'll still make an excellent pro playing safety, though. He's a fucking ballhawk and a huge hitter at that.
