Georgia has the worst voting system in the US

Was Gaw-guh the state that didn't have Bush on the ballot until very recently (they changed the law to let the Republican party on the ballot since they had a late convention) or was that a different one?

    Yeah, Kerry do THIS!

Yessir! My surprisingly relevant rant about the legality and feasability of bagel bites will sell records, baby.
  3. Dr. Tyler; Captain America

    Yeah, Kerry do THIS!

Bagel bites are really fucking good. I could go for some right now.
  4. Dr. Tyler; Captain America

    Yeah, Kerry do THIS!

Do you like Bagel Bites? I do.

    Electoral Vote Predictor 2004.

Agreed. Kerry had been declining for a while. However, he was STILL only EVEN as of the RNC; he was previously up ~6-10 before the slide (which, as Chris Bowers of MyDD points out, could very well be because of his inaccesssability to the media). I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that Kerry benefitted from a negative press week for Bush (AWOL forgery stories weren't as promient than the actual AWOL notes stories) and pulled even in the useless 5-weeks-until-the-election polls. I doubt it's as much a sampling problem as it is just the tides of the election rising and falling for both candidates. None of us is delusional enough to think this election is going to be anything but razor's edge close, and these polls and their rhythmic back-and-forth trends just prove that.

    Yeah, Kerry do THIS!

Yes, because Drudge is the force driving the Kerry campaign, after all.

    Electoral Vote Predictor 2004.

You DO realize that prior to the conventions, Ohio was a dead heat, right? How do you get off implying that it was an oversampled Democratic base that brought it back to the MoE? And Vern: I wasn't talking about a poll. I linked SJ to a site (partisan, yes, but it was irrelevant at that point) which debunked the faulty Newsweek "BUSH UP BY 12 POINTS!!!!" poll. It clearly showed the error in oversampling Republicans and not properly weighting the poll. It was simple mathematics; the partisan nature of the site matters like, not at all.

Uh, what does it matter if it's a partisan site or not? Numbers aren't partisan.

    Electoral Vote Predictor 2004.

OH is back with Kerry? Sorry, but that sounds like total bullshit, especially since Gallup has Bush up by nine. SUSA has a somewhat anti-Republican bias in their sampling, it seems. -=Mike That was a mistake actually. Bush still has a slight lead there. But... Bush still has Alaska. Looking over SUSA's numbers in comparison to the other polls --- SUSA needs to fix up the problem with their sampling. They seem to oversample Democratic votes, based on their results. -=Mike Please explain. Don't say "Well, if Kerry is up, they're oversampling Democrats!!!!" either.

    US Deserter reports for duty

I'm about to leave, so I really don't have time to point-by-point this argument at the moment, but I have this reply to you, Mike. BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT The ties between al Qaida and Sudan are MUCH MUCH MUCH deeper than Iraq. SUDAN HARBORED OSAMA BIN LADEN FOR SIX YEARS. WILLINGLY. SUPPLIED HIM WITH TERRORIST TRAINING CAMPS. GAVE HIM SUPPLIES. OUTWARDLY AND PUBLICLY GAVE HIM SUPPORT. They NEVER offered up bin Laden, contrary to popular opinion. Mike, we almost invaded Sudan in the mid 90's because of it. We're WELL aware of their active ties to al Qaida.

This is retarded. You can't choose if and when and under which circumstances to play in the sandbox; you fucking beat up on all of the kids in the sandbox, stole their toys, and then fucked their sisters. You don't just pretend that everything is hunky dory and go back and pretend that everything is ho hum after that. We've already established that the administration doesn't give a shit about international coalitions, and the only reason they're worrying about it now is because it's an election year. Here, we have a perfect CLEAR example of a nation who has unquestionably supported, harbored, and had sex with al Qaida. It's a human rights nightmare, far far far far far worse than Saddam's Iraq. And now we're pretending to be the subordinate? Now we're going through the UN? It's horrible, pathetic politics. This administration doesn't give a shit about international coalitions beyond what it matters come election time. Unless we intervene and stop this genocide in Sudan, the Bush administration's moral imperitive argument about Iraq is completely fucking shot. Out of everyone on this board who spews the standard righty talking points about how "Well, you guys wanted this LOL2004", you're the last one I expected to do that. This is a moral travesty that the administration is choosing to play politics with the lives of 1.4 million people, ESPECIALLY when they've shown a complete willingness to declare the UN obsolete when it comes to wars that their opinion polls support.

    US Deserter reports for duty

That doesn't fly and you know it. That's pussy footed rhetoric to justify not going into a country that they couldn't give two shits about, and you know it. However, you'll spout the party line about "now we have to work with the international community!!!!" and it's bullshit. And you know it. The administration didn't care about the public's willingness to stay with the international community before, so why would they care about it now? They use that justification as an excuse, nothing more and nothing less. They couldn't care less about the international community. They just don't give a shit about Sudan. And you know it.

    US Deserter reports for duty

Straw man. The administration hasn't played by the UN's rules before, so they damned sure better not use that justification now.

Yes, big time. Defense typically plays harder.

    US Deserter reports for duty

We sure as hell aren't SHOWING that we care about it. Colin Powell FINALLY referred to it as genocide, but what are we doing about it? Nothing. So please, don't try to spin off rhetoric as anything significant.

    NFL Draft best and worst

I just effectively said that every draft between '93 and '98 sucked. What else do you want from me? I got in an argument with someone who said every Ravens draft has been great. Let's not compare homerism, toolshed.

    NFL Draft best and worst

Was Huey drafted at all? I thought he was an UDFA. Or maybe I'm thinking of someone different. Jerry Porter has done what so far in his career? Been a slot reciever. Nothing more. Laverneus Coles is an above average #1/2 reciever (depending on the team he plays for) who gets hurt too much. Darling hasn't impressed me much, which doesn't surprise anyone. Not much is expected for a non first round reciever, but sometimes they pan out (Hines Ward)

    IF true, unbelievably important news

You know, amidst suicide bombings and murder, amidst hatred and heinous acts of violence, you would think that the majority of Islam would have a counterreaction to all of it. I pray to God that this is it.

    NFL Game Chatter Thread

RE: the timeout: The HARDEST kicks to hit are when your special teams has to run onto the field against the clock and kick it. Absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt. This kick was only to tie the game; there's virtually no chance that NE would have to worry about winning it, they'd probably take their chances with OT. As it turns out, Vanderjagt missed it anyways, but that could've been a bad move.
