Well, an interesting way to handle terrorism

Wha? When did I say I was voting for Kerry? I'm simply saying you're a partisan fool. -

I certainly wouldn't think he meant that he's gonna give Iran nukes! I'd think he's a moron and I'd make fun of his crappily worded answer. I have no love for Kerry or many of his advisors, so I do the same here. But you're being an idiot by making a huge fucking stink out of something you know isn't going to happen. You know what the man meant, so stop being a vulva about it. -

"fuel you need" ... Where does it say they're giving them nuclear fuel? It sounds like a badly worded answer, but if you truly think Kerry is going to solve the nuclear crises by providing them nuclear materials, you're a bumbling fool who is far too partisan for any rational thought. -

Could he... possibly... ...just maybe... ...at all...? ...be referring to fossil fuels? Does he say the word "nuclear" at all? Are there other forms of power other than nuclear? No? Oh, okay, you're right, then. -

Where did Kerry say in that piece that he's providing them with NUCLEAR fuel? -
Yes!
-
MY POINT EXACTLY.

Eh, it's simply a difference of opinion. I think art has to include some amount of originality to be considered it, whereas you don't. It's something we're never going to agree on, so how about we just laugh at Nelly's suspension and move on?
-
I would also argue that a good amount of hip-hop IS art. However, back in the Backstreet Boys era, I would argue that their repackaged, same-as-the-last-song bullshit was not remotely art.
-
Hahaha, now I understand why Agent has implored us all not to reply to you.
-
I have a rather high definition of art, so I would consider that recycled, unoriginal music isn't art.
-
Not all music.
-
I'm calling bullshit on that one.
-
Then you've just made me irrelevant

Perhaps. Which is why that argument holds slightly more weight than the other. But the problem with wrestling-as-a-form-of-art as an argument is that this shit is mass-marketed to make money. It's not original and it's not clever. It's just pornography for people who were beat up as kids. Again, unless you want to argue that pornography is art, this is a stupid debate.

There are plenty of atheletes who create their own persona and play it during their games. These personas (trash talking cornerback, humble underdog quarterback) effectively create a storyline within the game. They're acting too. Doesn't make it art.
-
And here's where your argument goes to shit. There IS no set definition of art. Art is defined by the individual's opinion of it, and if your definition of art is much more lax than another person's, we get this debate.
-
If you're arguing that the wrestling itself is a form of art, then you have to consider all sports to be art. Again, if you set your definition of art by low standards, you can fucking consider lying to your boss a work of art. It doesn't actually make it one, though.
-
Now, would you cry over that shit-on-a-plate?
-
So are the convention protestors......
Dr. Tyler; Captain America replied to NoCalMike's topic in Current Events
From the bloggers' perspective, they say there are many, many more far left protesters than right wingers. And by far left I mean like, LaRouche. -
Oh Christ. So anything involving acting is art now? I guess when you set your standards that low...
-
Who considers interpretive dance an art form?
-
I wouldn't cry over sports either, nor would I consider sports "art". A notable exception would be if you're actually competing.
-
Thanks for playing! And re: wrestling=art comment... Is this some sort of "modern art" argument, where you can see beauty in strange places or something? Because for Chrissakes, if you consider ridiculously basic "It's my life's dream!!" or "I'M AN UNDERDOG" storylines to be art, that's pathetic. The WWE and wrestling in general is no more art than pornography. It's entertainment---specifically, sports entertainment---and nothing more. Leave it at that.
