Whatever and Ever Amen is a fantastic album. "One Angry Dwarf And 200 Solemn Faces" is one of my favorite opening songs. "Brick" is not as powerful as it once was but still deeply emotional. "Kate" is what I want out of every rock ballad - it's energetic and fun, but still a song filled with love and admiration for the subject. And "Steven's Last Night in Town" is one of my favorite tracks ever to sing along too. "Selfless, Cold and Composed" is my favorite track on the disc, though. There's a certain cool jazziness about the instrumentals (particularly the piano, but the drums are nice too) that makes me smile and gives me chills at the same time. The tracks they added on the re-release are kind of a mixed bag. "Video Killed The Radio Star" and "She Don't Use Jelly" are competent, interesting covers. "The Theme of Dr. Pyser" and "For All the Pretty People" are excellent instrumental songs on different ends of the spectrum. The rest is kinda just there.

I'm not surprised. Virtually any time a team I support gets a little attention they tend to implode in a big way. Thankfully the Patriots lost so I'm simply annoyed instead of upset.

If I were forced to pick a single moment in the show's history that defines House's character, him giving the gun back would be it. Terrific episode.

Due to their financial troubles it appears that the Mets may allow Citigroup to back out of their naming deal for the new stadium. This might be good news on the off chance that they decide to go with a a non-corporate name, but since the odds of that happening are basically non-existent, I don't really care either way. I do hope there's footage of construction workers striking everything with the Citi logo from the stadium 'cause not only would I watch that but I would laugh the whole time.

For the first time, I'm convinced that the Jets can make some noise in the playoffs. They flat-out dominated the Titans today. Every aspect of the team was at the top of their game. Biggest win for the franchise since at least 2006. Can't say much else except here's hoping they can keep the ship steady and maybe even grab a bye.

Raiders/Sooners is a bit of a disappointment so far.

The Irish get a big reception to bring 'em to Syracuse's 35 but the long field goal falls short. Notre Dame really lost this game for themselves but it was exciting if nothing else.

This Ole Miss/LSU game is going great for the Gators. The bigger a lead the Rebels get the less significant their win over Florida seems.

I'm stunned at the Wolverines' incompetence. Interception gives them the ball on the Buckeyes' 13 yard line, so they gain no yards, commit a false start, and miss a field goal. Argh. Edit: Followed a few minutes later by a turnover on a mishandled punt. As well as Michigan's defense is playing the other facets of their team have failed miserably so far.

AFC 1. Titans - I don't think they'll go undefeated ('cause they'll rest players once the #1 seed is clinched) but they're without a doubt the best team in the conference. 15-1. 2. Steelers - They've got a bit of a rough schedule remaining but nothing that'll take the division away from them. 11-5. 3. Jets - Shocker, I think they're going to win the division. They'll probably lose to the Titans and get one more head-scratching loss from the rest of their cakewalk schedule, though. 11-5. 4. Broncos - God does the AFC West suck. 9-7. 5. Colts - Too bad they played so poorly at the beginning of the year 'cause this is probably the best they're gonna do now. 10-6. 6. Patriots - The Ravens got exposed and I'm not sold on the Dolphins yet. Suffice to say their game this week will probably be for the final spot. 10-6. NFC 1. Giants - Scary, scary team. 14-2. 2. Cardinals - What? Seriously? 12-4. 3. Buccaneers - I'm amazed the Panthers are still at the top of this division. 11-5. 4. Packers - And the NFC North had such promise at the beginning of the year. 9-7. 5. Panthers - I'm still baffled that they have eight wins. Playoffs are all but assured but I like Tampa for the division. 11-5. 6. Redskins - Solely because they've got the easiest remaining schedule of the six win teams. 10-6.
