So... how 'bout those Final Fantasy villains, eh?

1. Ultemecia was the worst, definitely. 2. Necron doesn't even qualify as a villain. 3. That's why I loathe Final Fantasy VIII. They put the love story before the actual story. I mean, I'm not a big fan of the Zidane/Dagger romance, but at least in that game there was an actual story, with an actual villain. So if I didn't care too much about whether or not Zidane would get the girl, I at least gave a crap about saving the world from Kuja. Same with X. I wasn't swooning at the sight of Tidus and Yuna kissing, I didn't really care, but that little thing called, you know, the plot, made the game worth playing. Not so with VIII.

Squall, in quite possibly the worst game of all time.

Only complaint I have thus far is that the different dress-spheres are entirely unnecessary for the first third of the game. I didn't need a White Mage, Black Mage, Gun Mage, or any mage in the first two chapters of the game, so I never used those spheres. Now that I need a built up White Mage in Chapter 4, I don't have one. So I have to go out of my way to build one up. It's not ruining the game or anything, but it is a little annoying.

I was pretty much un-wowed by Tactics as a whole, so this news that it's set in Tactics, music is done by the guy who did Tactics, and it's being directed by the guy who did Tactics, isn't THRILLING~! to hear. Then again, the reduced-love-and-teen-angst-in-story is a good sign. A very good sign. The farther away we get from FF8, the better. We'll see.

Haven't gotten it yet, as my part time job has been reduced to a fraction time job, and I'm right in the middle of Skies of Arcadia. So it'll be a while. But I played the demo and saw the Eternal Calm video, both provided by OPM, and from what I've seen I agree with Conspiracy_Victim - Yuna's voice acting sounds much better this go round.

Devil May Cry 2.

This is more of "this weekend" than "today", but... yea... Finding Nemo - 9/10 Memento - 10/10 Love, Actually - 8.5/10 (a helluva lot funnier than I was expecting).

I would if one of my rental places would carry it, but it seems to be too little-known to actually make it to shelves. It's one of those games that won't be on the shelf for rental because all the "big name rental stores" think it wouldn't rent if they brought it in. Which is bullshit, because I know a game this good couldn't be a "lost cause". Actually, rental is how I found it. Hollywood Video had a single copy, and since FZero GX wasn't in, I took a chance with Disgaea. Five days later I returned it, walked about ten steps into the adjoining Game Crazy, and plunked down the $49.99 for it.

And you can get the Senators on your side by bribing them with any random item, but that takes a while...it gets easier to just kill them all. I too hated FFTactics. Bored me to tears. But Disgaea is pure magic. And I haven't had much luck killing Senators, but I guess I'll give it another go.

Does anyone know how to get the Senators on your side? The only resolution I can ever get them to pass is "More Expensive Stuff". Things like "Improve Movement" and "Improve Counterattack" always get shot down by hundreds of votes, along with opening new areas.

I just wish it was a more exciting age. 19 is... the year after 18... the legal smoking age in Utah... I think someone said it's the legal drinking age in parts of Canada... But I don't smoke or drink or have any plans to move to Canada, so... Yay 19!

That's my main problem with it too. I picked it up used for like nine bucks, and it's very much worth it. There's a sequel coming out, no idea when, and the only thing it needs to do is fix the jog button thing and maybe make Grave move a little faster. I mean, I know he's a corpse, but come on. Love the art-style, though - I'd like to see more games adopt it.

I realize this is a longshot, but... I have to work a concessions booth at a concert tonight, so I'm leaving the job of taping the 24 Season Premier in my parents' hands. My parents' completely incapable hands. I know some people here are able to take wrestling matches recorded on TV and make them available for download - any chance in hell someone can do that here, in case my parents screw up? Like I said, I know it's a longshot, but still... can't blame a guy for trying, right?
