I'm so pissed I have to work every night this week. I'm done at around 9 or so, but by the time I get home, all the games are basically going to be over.
-
They need to let them loose next week and just kick the snot out of Carmella. That'd be good TV.
-
Slovakia is a team to watch, too. Just imagine how good a team Czechoslovakia would have had the country never split up.

The whole article just seems like the guy got pissed that the Jays were killed and decided to make himself feel better by ripping on the Yanks.
-
And the A-Rod bashing is probably just sour grapes from Rodriguez beating out Delgado for the MVP last year.
-
He was probably just frustrated since the Jays got mauled. That, or he holds some grudge against Williams, but this is all just speculation. Like I said, I hardly read the Globe. If you want to read some Yankee cock-sucking, though, there'll probably be an article or 2 in tomorrow's Star.
-
Yeah, the Globe is pretty legit, I'd say. Don't usually read it myself, though.

My day was about as exciting as this thread. Thanks, though.

I actually thought that was pretty funny. And, to be fair, the last out he got in the 8th was when there were 2 men on, so he was facing the potential tying run.
-
Yankees are destroying the Jays right now, so we get to see the exciting position player pitching situation. Frank Menechino gets the honours (?). Oh, and Gary Sheffield just hurt his leg at 3rd base, which I guess isn't a safe place for Yankee players at SkyDome anymore.

Any plane carrying the President always has the call-sign "Air Force I", whether it's a Cessna or a 747. Same goes with the VP, only it's "Air Force II". Of course, I'm sure you already knew that... right? Only in America...

Someone took a bulldozer to the frame of the new Wal-Mart they're building here. They had to put in a stop-work order and now there's 24/7 surveillance of the construction site.

Last summer, TBS had starting at 10 and going until 4:30; Dawson's Creek (x2), Saved By The Bell (x2), Family Matters, Cosby Show, Fresh Prince (x2) (than was switched to Futurama and Family Guy), and Roseanne (x3). Then that Non-Stop Comedy block thing they had with Drew Carey, Seinfeld, Friends, and whatever else went until whenever. I'd usually switch it over to Comedy Network at 4:30 and watch Beat the Geeks and the Daily Show re-run. If I wasn't careful, I'd waste hours in front of the TV.

It's not really a big deal. If Kiprusoff ends up being a one year wonder, his contract's only for 1 year so it's not going to hurt Calgary any.

My OBP is still horrible in the AL league, so anyone can make me an offer in that league. Pretty much everyone on my team is available (except for maybe my closers, but I'd trade one of them if the offer was good enough).

"Let's get some soy yogurt." "Is it good?" "Well, no, but it's good for you."

So, Australia upsets Japan 1-0 to make to the gold medal game tomorrow and in the other game Cuba comes from behind to beat Canada 8-5, even though Canada came within about a foot of tying it with a 3 run shot with 2 down in the 9th. An awesome game, even if I was a little upset with the outcome. Cuba will probably take the gold, and Japan will probably bounce back and take the bronze. I figured that, since Canada spanked the Aussies in the round robin that at least a bronze would be possible for them if it was the likely Cuba/Japan gold medal game, but now that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

The team's actually carrying around a Morneau Bobblehead that they picked up in Rochester a few months back. But yeah, losing those 2 hurt. I can understand the Twins calling up Morneau, but not so much the Rockies with Francis. If they were in a pennant race, I'd understand why they'd want to do it, but would there really be any harm in sending him to the Olympics and maybe having him win a medal? You'd think that would help his confidence, or something. If you want to call him up, it could wait until after he's back from Athens. I think the Padres let one of their top pitching prospects go to pitch for Australia, and they actually have a shot at the wild card.

I think the rule is that networks that down own the rights can't show highlights until the event has been finished for 15 hours. And even then, they can only show a few minutes at a time. They can show the ever exciting still photo, though.

Kelvim Escobar has shitty run support, so that's why he's under .500. And I'm really pissed I worked tonight and missed Lilly's game. The only other time this year I've seen him be dominating was in Minnesota in April or May. Nice to see someone besides Josh Towers pitch well, too.

The one in the living room is a Toshiba, while I've got a cheap Nova one in my room that I picked up for about $50 at Future Shop.

I think she'd have a pretty good idea, herself.

Randy Johnson Carl Pavano Blue Jays: Roger Clemens Michael Young (if we're counting prospects) Kelvim Escobar Cesar Izturis Paul Quantrill Chris Carpenter Maple Leafs: Curtis Joseph Steve Sullivan

The battle of wits has begun.

The Jays scored more than 5 runs in a road game tonight for the first time since July 1st. Since they fired Carlos Tosca, they've won 3 games, all of them with Josh Towers pitching, and this guy was sitting in AAA after passing through waivers a few months ago. And did anyone see Nick Johnson get hit in the head tonight? Ouch.
