    TSM Game Chatter Thread

I'm not saying they were classics, just that the majority of them weren't exactly snoozers.

    TSM Game Chatter Thread

The 3 games last week at SkyDome were pretty entertaining. 2 of them went into extra innings and the other wasn't decided until the 7th or 8th, I believe. Really, of the 5 they've played so far this year, only 1 wasn't close. 2 games decided by walk-off homers is nothing to sneeze at.

    NHL Off-Season Thread...

So the Leafs wasted a million and a bit on Mr. Glass Nik Antropov. He's so worthless, so I doubt he has any trade value outside of a late draft pick. And Ed Belfour is now the part-owner of the Dallas WHA franchise and might play for them if there's a lockout. I have a very bad feeling about this.

    The Keltner List

Can you throw Dave Steib in your hat, too?
  5. I don't hate Clemens as much as I did about 3 or 4 years ago, but I'll give you my reasons as to why I thought he was the scum of the earth back then. The Jays won 88 games in '98 and finished only 4 games behind the Red Sox for the Wild Card. Then, Clemens exercises this stupid clause that he had put into his contract and demands a trade and the main player they get back in return is someone who really doesn't want to be there (Wells). It's even more frustrating when you think that he had 2 of the best back-to-back seasons a pitcher has had in recent memory and the team has nothing to show for it in terms of results on the field or players in return (Graeme Lloyd left as a free agent, Homer Bush was cut a few seasons later, and there was the whole fiasco with the David Wells to Chicago trade). That being said, I don't really have any athletes that I'd wish career ending injuries on, but there are a few who if they had one I would probably get a chuckle out of it.

    ESPN 25 best records

Well, of the record breaking number itself comes after the cut-off, I can understand it. But Nicklaus only won 3 majors after 1979, which is supposed to be the cut-off date (and I'm pretty sure he beat the record pre-'79, too). Scotty Bowman won more than half of his Cups in the mid-70s, and Nolan Ryan and Pete Rose were in their prime in the pre-ESPN era. Their records are impressive, but if the criteria is that the records are from the last 25 years than they don't belong.

    ESPN 25 best records

I'm not so sure Bowman, Ryan, and Rose should be on there, since a good chunk of what they did came before the 25 year cut-off point. Probably Jack Nicklaus, too.

    Olympics Coming Soon

I'm looking forward to the baseball tournament, since it seems like Canada has a chance to medal this year, even without Justin Morneau. I'll probably watch something most days when I get a chance, too, even though I don't get up for the Summer games like I do like the Winter ones like Max.

    Mods on power trips

Brock Lesnar is a football player and his football career should be discussed in the Sports folder. The WWE folder is already full enough, is it that hard for you to scroll down the page a bit and go into the Sports folder to talk about Lesnar? Personally, I don't care if you talk about SK's personal life, but not in the WWE folder. He doesn't work for the company so whether or not he's still writing Raw rants for 411 is just clogging up that particular folder. If you want to talk about that, I'd say take it to General Wrestling or even Hardcore Discussion. However, I think his next book in on the WWE in particular, so that may be something that could be discussed in there (so long as it doesn't degenerate into 'OMG HE'S FAT'-type posts, since those are retarded). I don't venture into the WWE folder much, so I can't answer these 2 things for you, but I will say that the mods don't do anything with the purpose of making the board a worse place to post. Everything that's done (in our minds, anyway, people will definitely not agree on everything, and that's fine) is done with the purpose of making it a more enjoyable place for everyone.

    This Week in Baseball

Carlos Delgado absolutely owns Jorge Sosa. He hit his first 2 homers in his 4-HR game last year against him and has 2 more so far tonight (8-15, 5 HR in his career). Too bad David Bush had his worst outing so far and the Jays are down 6-2.

    Here's your blockbuster trade

Weird. TheScore's ticker was saying that it was a 4-team trade, but now it says 3-team. I'm pretty sure they're just picking up their news from ESPN, too.

    Marlins trade Penny/Choi to Dodgers

The Marlins have lost 4 straight to the Expos (!), including getting their ass kicked 9-0 tonight. I don't see how this is going to help them catch the Braves.

I think all old sports stadiums should be made into supermarkets. But yeah, this is retarded. What's the point? To make more money? Is that even possible?
