So, are they going to trade Cabrera now? I thought Vidro would be the one who was gone, but I guess I was wrong.

Unfortunately, my baseball stadium experience is limited to SkyDome and Olympic Stadium, so I haven't had a chance to attend any of the ones usually near the top of rankings (although Olympic Stadium was decent for the football game I went to there, although it was packed 65,000 fans, so maybe that helped). Whatever Pac Bell is called now, PNC, and Camden Yards are probably the nicest looking of the new old-style ones. Wrigley, Fenway, and Yankee Stadium obviously have boatloads of history, and are probably fun to attend, but Yankee Stadium doesn't seem like it's much to look at. The best overall sports experience I've ever had was at a Montreal Alouettes game at Molson Stadium. Small capacity (>20,000), but an amazing atmosphere. Didn't hurt that the Als were killing the team they were playing, so everyone there was insane. The only current NHL arenas I've been to are the Corel Centre and Air Canada Centre (and that was for wrestling). I went to both the Forum and Maple Leaf Gardens, but I was too young to remember anything about them (even though I went to the Forum 3 times). Corel Centre's a nice enough place, if unremarkable. Since I never saw a hockey (or basketball) at the ACC, I can't give full opinions on it, but it didn't seem that much different than the Corel Centre, though it does have a better location (downtown as opposed to out in the middle of a field).

I'm just saying how you claim that BX is obsessed with you for bringing your name up here, yet you're doing the exact same thing with Kamui.
-
Much like your's with Kamui.

Why, what happened in yesterday's game?

And hey. We actually had the guy that's helping the Flames get a playoff run (he'd be Martin Gelinas). Does anyone else remember anyone from that listing that did anything? Neither did I. The stupidest trade ever. Honestly, it made no sense at all. Or even more recently: Why did we trade away Jussi Markkanen, and then trade for him right back is what I'd like to know. Why trade him away if you still wanted the guy in the first place? -The Gretzky trade. They couldn't afford him so they traded him, makes perfect sense to me. And Marty McSorley had a pretty eventfull career (illegal curve in the '93 finals, the Brashear thing), Mike Krushelnyski played for the Leafs when they went to the Conference finals in '93 and '94, and Rucinsky's still in the league, too. -They traded Markkanen since they already had Salo and Conklin and they wanted the compensatory picks that they would get when Leetch signed with someone (the Rangers, as it turned out). They got Markkanen back when they needed someone after they traded Salo, and Markkanen was an NHL-ready guy and Valiquette wasn't (well, at least for a team that wanted to make the playoffs).

'I hope there's a "no questions asked" return policy, because that's an awful-looking trophy.'
-
At the risk of sounding like a stalker, was that your quote in the Star today? The one about returning the trophy since it's so darn ugly.

Is this all true?

Woodward's expendable, really. Chris Gomez is just as good.

You can kind of see me on the first SmackDown after WrestleMania X-8, but I'm more visible on the Heat they taped that night. On SD, when Nash is giving the Rock the Jacknife onto the announcer's table, they show the crowd on that side and I'm there. I show up, too, in that chapter on the nWo DVD, but it's more blurry so I don't show up as well. On that Heat, when Val Venis is doing his Rick Rude impression and pulling some girl out of the crowd, I'm pretty much right next to her and I look like a jackass (as usual).

Yeah, and if you get your G1, you're going to have to have someone in the car with you for about a year. And no driving on the 400-series highways. So, yeah, get used to taking the subway.

Which is exactly why I don't understand why it would be such a bad thing (in the US) to have a Canadian-based team in the finals. If Americans don't care, anyway, what harm would it do to have Calgary in there instead of San Jose?

TAKA and Crash had a pretty good match on Shotgun one week in late '99 in the middle of the Superheavyweight angle.

You mean, you don't know his life story? But that was him, though, or else he got someone who's pretty damn good at doctoring photos to put him in with the Survivor people. There's at least one thread about it on here, somewhere.

Van Hellsing: Thoughts, opinions, and criticism!
treble replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
What a steaming pile of shit this movie was. Just horrible all the way around, not much redeeming value (except for maybe Carl, he was kinda funny). This better get a shit load of Razzie nominations. -
It's weird seeing people associate Roy with the Avs, I still think of him as a Canadien and I'd put him behind Sakic and Forsberg in terms of players I associate with Colorado.
-
Yeah. All this stuff's in the pinned thread, making this one even more worthless. Closed.

For future reference, please don't type in all caps or like a moron.

Steve Yzerman with the Red Wings, Mario Lemieux with the Penguins, Joe Sakic with the Avalance/Nordiques, and Ray Bourque with the Bruins.

No, I think it's about right. Sets a good precedent about what you can and can't do with your stick and I'm really glad Stafford got a suspension, too, since he pretty much instigated the whole thing by swinging his stick first.
-
So Perezhogin ends up with a suspension for the rest of the playoffs and all of next season, while Stafford gets 6 games for his initial swing. Sounds about fair.
