Hart Trophy Martin St. Louis (TB) -He should be a shoo-in. Norris Trophy Zdeno Chara (OTT) -McCabe should have at least been nominated, but Chara is the most physically dominating player in the league. Vezina Trophy Roberto Luongo (FLA) -All three deserve it (except maybe Kiprusoff, who may not have played enough), but Luongo had a great season on a crappy team. Calder Trophy Andrew Raycroft (BOS) -Pretty much the main reason the Bruins won the division. Frank J. Selke Trophy Kris Draper (DET) -This is a worthless award in today's game. I'll go with Draper for no real reason. Lady Byng Memorial Martin St. Louis (TB) -I don't know how Alfreddson can be considered among the most sportsmanlike players in the league, but I'll go with St. Louis for no real reason, again. Jack Adams Trophy Darryl Sutter (CGY) -What a fucking job he did. Wilson should probably be 2nd and Tortorella 3rd.

They switched it over this year. Apparently it's really slow in the infield, too. I was reading the Montreal paper a few weekends ago and someone (I guess it would have been an infielder on either the Expos or one of the teams they played) compared it to the infield at Wrigley.

I think Toronto is the only place left with 'real' Astroturf. Montreal (in Montreal and San Juan) and Minnesota switched over to the Fieldturf stuff this year, so Toronto might not be far behind. I doubt that there are a significant amount of major injuries caused by astroturf as opposed to natural grass, as well. There's probably a bit more wear and tear caused by it, but in baseball it's probably not such a big deal.

Toronto is a weaker team than last year, and Phili got a whole lot stronger. Unless Toronto can get their 3rd an 4th line producing constantly, the series will be over before it started. Ah bitch bitch bitch. Does it hurt you that you can't watch the Leafs on Saturday night? Is there such thing as a non-whiny leaf fan. A) How? Their defence is better with Leetch and Marchment (and Johannson waiting in the wings) as opposed to Wesley and Svehla and their forwards are just as good, if not better, even without Sundin and Nolan (who was a non-factor last year, anyway). Philly's stronger on forward with Zhamnov, but I don't know about defence with their injury problems. It should be just as even as last year's series was. And the Reichel/Domi/Kilger line was their best line last night and Domi's been one of their best players. Tucker/Fitzgerald/Stajan has been good, too. Those are pretty good 3rd and 4th lines. B) Yeah, I'd rather watch the Leafs play on Saturday night, or any game, for that matter. The Leafs would probably be there if there wasn't an arena football game, and I'm upset that they're not. I guess you could call that whining.
-
How? They played like shit in game 7, but other than that it was a close series (as the 3 OT games would show). Oh, and now it's time for the annual 'bitch about the division winners getting the top 3 seeds'. Toronto and their 103 points have to start on the road in Philly against the Flyers and their 101 points. I suppose it's better than when Carolina used to take the Southeast with 10 points less than the other division winners, though. Oh, and no Saturday night game because of fucking Arena Football. Better than last year and Yanni forcing games 6 and 7 to be back-to-back, though, I guess.

The Jays really shouldn't play so many home games when the hockey playoffs are on, since as long as the Leafs are still in, they're a distant second. Hell, they've been 3rd behind the Raptors and their soap opera most of the season so far, too. If the Leafs and Sens hadn't been playing tonight, there probably would have been more people at SkyDome, it wouldn't have been sold out, but even a good pitching match-up isn't going to sway a lot of people into going out and missing the hockey game. Think about it this way, if the Red Sox have a playoff game the same night as an early season Bruins game (and, the Bruins have played like shit so far, especially at home), would they have a good crowd, even for cheap tickets? Is hockey in the US a bad idea, then? It's only $2 on Tuesdays (not that regular prices are all that expensive, anyway) and it was just bad luck that it went up against the Leafs game. The building is empty most of the time since, aside from the Leafs, if you're not winning in Toronto, people won't go to your games. The Raptors are going to start feeling this, too. Hey, I wish that the Jays drew better, but 10 years of hardly doing anything after giving your fans 2 straight World Series isn't a great way to draw fans in. Neither is having the worst start to a season in franchise history.

The only thing that tops the Leafs winning is watching my dad's reaction to the Sens losing. But man, I feel sorry for Sens fans. Outplay the Leafs for 6 games, run into a hot goalie, and then, any chance they have to win game 7 is snuffed out by some of the worst game 7 goaltending ever. I guess that's what Red Sox fans feel like when they play the Yankees. Hopefully Esche's first round was a fluke and the Flyers forgot how they destroyed the Leafs earlier this year.

Isn't Abramovich the guy who wanted to by an NHL team and stock it full of Russian players only?
-
And no one's called the cops on you yet?

Yeah, I like how they're not the main focus, too, but most of the time it seems like their only purpose is to have an excuse for Ray's parents to be in his house when him and Debra get back from being out. They just ask, in passing, where the kids are, Marie says they're in bed and then it moves on to the usual sitcom fare.
-
The kids on Everybody Loves Raymond. I can only think of one episode off the top of my head where they actually played a big role in the plot (of course, I haven't seen every episode, but I've seen enough).
-
I'm guessing just to help throw the CTU off a little bit. I don't understand why he'd have surveillance cameras, though. And, of course, the next episode goes head-to-head with Leafs/Sens game 7.

When I started working at this grocery store, there was another guy named Tim there, who, since he apparently looks like a potato, is called 'Spud', so some people took to calling me 'Spid'. This other guy there calls me 'Hammer', for some reason. I think it's just because he doesn't know my name.

I want to say Lisa's Substitute, but I'm not 100% sure.
-
Can they trade him to the Blue Jays?
-
I guess I can take comfort in the fact that Ottawa's never won a game 7 before. Of course, they'd never beaten the Leafs in OT before, either, so I don't know if that means anything. I'll be praying.
-
Join the club. Not going to get any easier with the Red Sox coming in next, either. Maybe they'll catch another break and the Sox plain will get held up again somewhere.
-
Well, so much for the Marlins losing.
-
The Jays need to wake the fuck up. I'm almost glad today's game isn't on TV here, at least I can watch the Marlins lose on TBS, even if it means cheering for the Braves.
-
I liked how it was saying how you can never tell which way a knuckleball's going to move, but the animation, which looped about 10 times, it seemed, kept moving along the exact same path.
-
And Jan Arden performs the worst rendition of O Canada I've ever heard. Fuck, that was bad.
-
Oh, and I'll bet the Jays get 1 run in the bottom of the 9th now, and if they had someone reliable in the bullpen it would have meant a win.
-
This 'closer by committee' bullshit is coming back to bite the Jays in the ass. Anytime they've given someone a chance to either save the game or keep it close, they've blown it.

What is the last thing you spent money on?

Really, if you post 29 times a day yourself, you're in no position to make fun of someone else for posting 20,000 times. You'd be up there yourself if you had joined earlier.
