Bah, I was hoping for some OT hockey. It's been lacking so far this year, I didn't watch the one with San Jose and St. Louis and the Montreal/Boston one was too short.
  4. SmackDown's going to be in Toronto in June, so I'd say that probably lessens the possibilities of SummerSlam being there, too. The Blue Jays play at home most weekends in August, anyway (including the Sunday that SummerSlam is tentatively scheduled), so SkyDome would probably be out of the question, anyway. I don't know about Tropicana Field, but if they want to have it in Tampa, they can always have it in the hockey rink there. But, even if there's a mile walk from the dressing room to the entrances at the Trop, couldn't they just use golf carts to shuttle the guys from one place to the other?

    Biggest team busts?

Luckily for the Wings, they won it the next 2 years and then again a few years after that. Had they not, they'd probably go down in history as chokers, but now anything from that era pre-1997 is pretty much forgotten.

Man, the Flames just rang one of the post and I thought the building was going to explode, they even played the horn. Awesome game so far.

    Favorite Baseball Moments Ever..

Sometime in 2000, the Blue Jays were playing the Red Sox at home and were either in 1st in the division or buzzing around it. Delgado hit a monster home run off of Pedro, which was the 1st one he had given up with men on base in over a year, or something like that. In the long run, it didn't mean anything, but man if it wasn't an awesome moment. Delgado came out for the curtain call and it's probably the most excited anyone's been about the Jays since the World Series years. Unfortunately the team fell apart in September.

Do you pay millions of dollars in rights fees? Are they not even going to let CBC in, who've been broadcasting the NHL since the beginning of time? It sucks that you got screwed by a few assholes, but I really can't see anyway that TSN wouldn't be allowed into the FleetCenter.

    Biggest team busts?

New York Rangers every year since '98, or so. High payroll, lots of stars, not even one playoff appearance. I mean, just look at the players that they've had in that time span. Gretzky, Messier, Jagr, Lindros, Leetch, and the list goes on.

Nice little goal for Kovalev there. I realize if NESN and the Bruins want to keep troublemakers and stuff out of the building, but I find it hard to believe they wouldn't let TSN in there, considering they pay a lot of money for the TV rights and are under the same ownership as ESPN.

All the games with Canadian teams will be on CBC, anyway. And if the Bruins get to the next round and play an American team, I can't see the NHL not letting TSN into the building, considering they are TV rights holders.

Yeah. They kept saying that they're 9 year streak on top of the Northwest division was over, but that division didn't even exist until they went to 3 divisions. In '95, the Nords won the Northeast, then from '96 until they went to 3 divisions they won the Pacific, and they won the Northwest from then until this season.

Luckily for Raycroft he's played against a team that was horrible for the first 4 periods of the series. He has played well, but he hasn't been challenged much, either. And only in the NHL could the #2 and #3 overall teams be basically unknown.

    Best Simpsons Episode

Homer at the Bat and Marge vs. the Monorail are probably 2 of my favourites. Hungry Hungry Homer is one of the newer ones that I really like, too. One thing I've noticed in the past few years is that they seem to have forgotten how to end episodes. The one where Lisa goes to the Spellympics, for example, has that scene with the mountain and then just ends. They used to end (most of the time, anyway) with you feeling good about yourself, and now (most of the time, again) they just leave you wondering what the hell's going on.

Well, the Leafs sure played like shit tonight. Any more games like that and this'll be a short series. I'll be in Toronto over the weekend, so hopefully they win Saturday night so they'll be a nice atmosphere out there.

The Jays can't seem to do anything right right now. I know it's early in the season, and all, but it's really frustrating, especially coming against the Tigers. It's not going to get any easier going into Fenway on the weekend, either.

Yeah, that Jays game sure was a kick in the nuts. Oh well, the Leafs were shutout on opening day, too, and they're going to win the Stanley Cup.
