They're still officially called the Blue Jays, just their uniforms will just say 'Jays'. And I think the only original stuff I've ever seen theScore broadcast themselves are Roadrunners AHL games and the CBL games last year. I don't see any reason why they'd do Expos games themselves when they can save cash by picking up some local broadcast from the States.

But if there had been a huge demand for the ECW product it would have been available nationally earlier. TNN just wanted to cash in on the wrestling boom. My point is there's no reason to bring back something that died 3 years ago because not enough people were watching it to make it viable.

I don't think anyone's really hating on the Yankees here. We're pretty much just poking fun at them and their injury prone, paper thin team.

He got Cotton and Hank back together on Christmas. That's good enough for me.

Expos back on English-language television TheScore doesn't have a lot of money, so they'll probably just be picking up the feed from the other team's broadcaster, but that doesn't really matter. Just more baseball for me to watch.

If the general population wanted ECW, then it wouldn't have died 3 years ago. I don't see how a WWEified version is going to set the world on fire.

So, I'm going to assume (or hope and pray) that Eddie/Bradshaw will just be SD's 'big' match the week of Backlash. Cena and Durpee could actually be entertaining, but will probably just lead to some lame raps about French people wanting to suck his cock.

At least get rid of that stupid 'John Kerry Campaign Sign' thread which is just a dumb picture of some retarded war protester.

So, who's Detroit's starting goalie? I thought that they said when Joseph came back the job was his, but they've been starting Legace a lot lately, probably about 50/50 with CuJo. Are they just going to go with the hot hand once the playoffs start or are they just easing Joseph in slowly?

I think that the Leafs, and maybe Ottawa, too, pissed away any chance of winning the conference tonight (hell, maybe the division, too). Not looking forward to reading the Toronto papers tomorrow morning.
-
I think if the Bush resume thread is deemed fluff and deleted than I don't see why this thread should be any different.

Since I'm too lazy to edit, I'd wager that there are more Leafs or Habs fans in Florida than there are for the Lightning or Panthers. All those old folks would rather watch Toronto play Ottawa than Tampa play the Isles.

Would a finals between 2 Canadian teams really get any worse ratings in the States than one between 2 American teams that no one cares about? I mean, Calgary vs. Montreal or Nashville vs. Tampa Bay, does it really matter? I figure there's really only about 4 US teams that can draw better than average ratings for the finals that are headed to the playoffs. Detroit, Colorado, and Philly being at the top, and maybe Boston, too, since they have a relatively big fan base that seems to have turned them off in the past few years, but a run to the finals could bring them back in. I'd like to think that the Canadiens and Leafs could draw better ratings in the US than the Nashvilles and Tampa Bays, too, especially if ESPN/ABC were to play up the history of those franchises. The casual sports viewer would (hopefully) know who those teams were when flicking through the channels, as opposed to seeing the Predators in their fugly puke green uniforms and going, 'Nashville has a hockey team now?' before changing the channel to professional bowling.

Ok, Edmonton can slide into the 7 slot and Dallas still has an outside shot at 2nd in the conference so all can be right with the world. Seriously, though, even though as little as a week ago I didn't think they could make it, I think Edmonton has a really good shot to sneak in there, certainly better than LA's chances (having said this, fully expect the Kings to beat the Oilers later tonight). I hope it's St. Louis that they boot out should they make it in, as I kind of want Nashville to make it, too. In the East, I don't know if Tampa can hold on to the #1 slot. They've been shaky for the last few games and if Philly, Boston, Toronto, Ottawa or even Montreal or Jersey get hot in the next few games they could sneak in there. Although I do like your seedings there, giving us a Montreal/Toronto series, even though I'd rather see that happen in the 2nd or 3rd round, if possible. It's too hard to even predict the outcome now, since everything's so close. Obviously, being a Leafs fan I'd like them to finish 1st in the conference (and the league, too, since I'm greedy), but they can't win on Long Island these past few years and if the Isles stole a game at the ACC then Pat Quinn could find his head on a stick paraded through downtown Toronto.

Belak got 8 games, although, I'm sure if he wasn't a Leaf he would have been suspended for life.
-
Don't worry, you would have lost to me, anyway.
-
I guess that goals are the tiebreaker, since Old Age and Canadian All-Stars were tied 7-7, but All-Stars advanced to the finals in an upset. He's still going to lose to me, though.
-
Well, they could have said that, but it is WCW we're talking about here. Fuck, I'm surprised they even managed to get any type of show off the ground that night considering all the injuries and backstage bullshit that was going on around then.

The Malenko/Kidman match ended because Malenko had a brain fart and rolled out of the ring where the object of the match was to not leave the ring. And, c'mon, "From the little turd to the big turd" is classic stuff.
-
Oh please, his suspension would be the same no matter what team he played for. He'll get at least 2 games, maybe more. No big loss either way.

Olympic Stadium C'mon. WrestleMania in Montreal, you know that would be awesome.

Benoit is 'just a transitional champion'...
treble replied to Use Your Illusion's topic in The WWE Folder
Bullshit. WWE could say that the title lineage goes back to ancient Rome, but that doesn't make it true. If they had done some angle splitting the Undisputed title between Brock and HHH, I could buy that the Raw belt and the WCW title are the same, but Brock never lost any part of the title before jumping to SmackDown exclusively. The WCW lineage is in the title Guerrero has while Benoit's title goes back to September 2002. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm thrilled that Benoit won a World Title at WrestleMania, since, in WWE's eyes at least the belts are pretty much equal. -
Because I've heard that 'Blinded By The Light' song on the radio about 100 times in the past few weeks, but before that I had only caught it maybe twice.

Well, if more Yankees and Red Sox get hurt, the Blue Jays path to the AL East title is clear...

Travis Lee's hurt, too.
