You can't be serious. Jersey's nowhere near where they were last year. Philly would beat the snot out of them. I don't know. I'd really rather not have to face Jersey in the playoffs if they're all healthy. They always seem to be especially dangerous when no one's expecting them to do much, and because of their lacklustre season so far, expectations are probably low.

The major difference between Detroit and Toronto is their 3rd and 4th line. Toronto should beat Phili, and there was no excuse. at least Detroit got stopped by a red-hot goaltender. The Leafs lost last year because Belfour let in 2 soft goals in regulation in game 4 (the 3 OT game) and the team didn't bail him out after he played his ass off the rest of the game and then the whole team played like shit in game 7. They probably should have beaten Philly, but it's not like they were beaten by an inferior team. A few bounces go their way early in the series and game 7 may not even be needed. Whoever comes out of the East this year is going to have to be good as well as incredibly lucky. Toronto's going to have to avoid Philly, Ottawa's going to have to avoid Toronto, Philly's going to want to avoid Ottawa, Tampa's going to have to hope that the other teams beat each other up before they get to them, Boston's going to need Raycroft to be this year's Giguere, and Montreal and the Isles (if they hold on) are going to have to hope that they catch their opponent in a funk. Jersey's probably the best team in the bunch, but they're going to need Stevens to be healthy. And, I'm rambling.

The Wings won the Cup 2 years ago as the oldest team in the league and even though they lost in the 1st round last year, it wasn't because of their age.

Hey, Marchment's a dirty player, but I'm hoping he plays in the playoffs, if only because other teams are scared of him. I don't agree with the way he plays most of the time, but he just has to be on the ice and players keep their heads up when they're crossing the blue line.

For some non-Bertuzzi discussion: Trevor Kidd showed again tonight that he sucks, so I'm upset that the Leafs didn't get a better back-up at the deadline. I mean, Roman Turek was available for nothing (and he was Belfour's back-up in Dallas when they won the Cup, so they probably get along), the Avs gave up a bag of pucks to get Salo from Edmonton, and Kolzig probably would have come cheap. Maybe they can convince Patrick Roy to come out of retirement, just in case...

I really don't like my pitching, although if Biddle stuggles, Chad Cordero could take over as Montreal's closer, so he could help me if that does happen.
