Oh, FUCK NO. I'd rather Vlad go to the Yankees than the fucking Marlins.

Wells was probably consistently the best Jay last year (besides Halladay). Delgado had better numbers, but there was a point in the season when he wasn't hitting anything.

TORONTO BLUE JAYS WS CHAMPS 2004!!! Well, once they get Kerry Ligtenberg, there will be no stopping them!
-
Uh, yeah, Montreal ain't got nothin' on this.

Well, I had a good week, and that coupled with Old Age's losing brought me to within 11 points of 1st. Plus, I'm playing him this week, so I just hope my players that are going well (Iginla, Briere, Nieuwendyk, McCabe) stay reasonably hot so I can close the gap even more, if not pass him completely.

Twins re-sign Shannon Stewart. 3 year, $18 million.
-
Be thankfull you don't know.
-
The Pens are fucked with him or without him, so all this means is less acrobatic saves. I'm happy though, maybe we'll actually WIN the Gold Medal game this time around.

And, somehow, Mike Bullard has a late night talk show.

Well, I'd be pretty upset if I was someone who told all my supporters to vote for MacKay under the impression that he would not merge with the Alliance and then 6 months or so later goes and joins up with them. Of course, sitting as an Independant is only going to help the Liberals more, though, so I'm all for it.
-
Damn, I was looking forward to more drama with the right being split. Oh well, I can't really blame some of the Tories for not wanting to sit with the Alliance MPs, I know I sure as hell wouldn't. I'd be especially pissed since MacKay had said he wouldn't do this when he was chosen as party leader.

Sharpton SNL appearance to be blacked out in Iowa
treble replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in Current Events
Honestly, it was probably one of the best shows of this season, so far. Granted, they have had some stinkers this year (Andy Roddick, for one), but it was actually pretty good. They avoided his weaknesses and played up his strengths. -
Streak's up to eight now. I think they should just give the Leafs the Cup right now, who's with me?

I can't bring myself to get anything but burgers at Wendy's. I'm just curious as to why McDonalds would make a change that hardly seems like a change at all.
-
Joseph ponders buyout I think this is about the only way he'll play again this year, unless some team has REALLY bad injury problems.
-
Guy Stokes at the CherrieBoard was fucking awesome.
-
The Yankees finish 3rd in the AL East next year after they have a bad run of injuries and no young players that anyone wants to trade for replacements. The Red Sox win the divison and the Jays could win the Wild Card or at least come close.

Oh, I know, I just wouldn't mind seeing Tucker get shipped out of town. When there were the rumours of him going to Edmonton for Niinimaa at the trade deadline last year, I was crossing my fingers that it would happen. Tucker's more trouble than he's worth sometimes, and, come on, you'd have to admit it would be funny to see Peca traded for the guy who hurt his knee in the playoffs a few years back. I would like to see him on the Leafs, but they already have a lot of depth at centre and I don't want to see someone like Stajan, who has a very bright future, traded for someone who isn't desperately needed. If they have to give up Stajan, I'd rather it be for a top line defenceman.
-
Well, he's probably not going to Ottawa now. I don't know if I want Peca in Toronto, as I've heard that the Isles want Matt Stajan as part of any deal. Stajan looks like he's going to be a good player and I don't really want to see Toronto give him up for another centre, which they don't really need. I would take a straight up Darcy Tucker for Peca trade, though.

I don't know, and I have a bad feeling they're just getting my hopes up, but I'm going to enjoy it while I have the chance.

Over the summer, I live at home. No point in paying rent when I can live for free at home and my parents aren't strict, or anything, so it's not a pain in the ass.
-
Exactly, the Expos won this trade if you ask me. Especially if dumping Vazquez gives them enough money to re-sign Guerrero.
-
I guess we'll never know, then.
-
While I'm not too happy with Vazquez going to the Yankees, I really don't think this will hurt the Expos that much. Vazquez has tons of potential and maybe all he needed was a change of scenery, but he's never really been a true ace that the Expos needed him to be, especially in the past few years when they were close to contending for the wild card. Assuming that the Expos' rotation is healthy next year (both Tony Armas and Orlando Hernandez missed all of last year) it will still be pretty strong. If trading Vazquez mean they can either keep Livan Hernandez or Guerrero (or both), then I'm happy they made it. Johnson is an improvement over Cordero at 1st, Rivera can play LF if Vlad stays or either of the corner outfield spots if needed, and Choate adds depth to the bullpen. Oh, and Re: Vazquez' HR totals at home, you have to take into account that some of those starts were in San Juan, which isn't exactly known as a pitchers' park, so that's going to be a little inflated.

2 World Series appearances, actually (1995 & 1997).
