Dead. Buried. Eaten by worms. Ok, I'm confused. Maybe I'm just reading this wrong, but you claim that racism is dead, then go on to say that Affirmative Action is a racist program. I anxiously await your condescending reply.

The One and Only A Minute with Stan Hooper thread
treble replied to bob_barron's topic in Television & Film
Tonight's show was probably the best one so far, but fuck, I hate almost everyone on that show. I can understand trying to make them 'simple' townsfolk, but there's simple and then there's fucking retarded. Everyone on the show is dumb, except for Stan and the Butler, and to a lesser degree the wife. The first few minutes were funny, specifically Stan trying to get breakfast. -
I think that if wishing death on a poster is a bannable offense, then wishing death on ANYONE (athlete, actor, wrestler, politician, etc.) should be one, as well.

Yeah, I don't care one way or the other, I'm just sayin', is all.

This kinda sets a bad precedent.

Best. Restaurant. EVER!, Worst. Restaurant. EVER!
treble replied to Elbarto997's topic in General Chat
There's a Taco Bell/Long John Silvers combo in town here. I have no interest whatsoever in going there. -
There are these cell phone commercials that feature the worst acting EVER, bad enough to make them so bad they're good. They have this couple taking pictures of themselves in various stages of undress and sending them over the phone. Then, the guy accidently dials his mom, then looks in the camera and gives the cheesiest reaction ever. I love it.

I read an article on that and it seems like they're more gung ho on getting Hentgen and if they can get Quantrill on top of that, that's just gravy.

MLB should have a maximum age (say around 25 or 26) that you can be to be eligible for the Rookie of the Year award, it would help avoid situations like this. I know the NHL has one, I'm not so sure about other leagues.

Not really much of a witchhunt, considering that only one poster thought you were Banky (and that poster was Johnson, to boot).

Um, Halladay went 5-1 in September with 5 complete games (including a 10 inning win over Detroit) with his only loss coming in the game against Tampa with the bullshit ejection call. He lost two in a row in Seattle and Oakland (and even in the Seattle loss he went the whole 8 innings and only gave up 3 runs) in mid-August before winning 6 of his last 8 starts (one to Boston and the aformentioned Tampa game were his only loses). Don't say he fell apart towards the end of the year. Halladay had the best year of any starter in the majors and pitched 80 more innings than Pedro did. Maybe Pedro has a better year if he doesn't get injured, but there's no doubt in my mind that Halladay's year was far superior to any other starter in baseball, let alone the AL.

Your girlfriend's a whore.

Whoa. Halladay was dominating all year long (well, once April ended) and I would have been PISSED if he didn't win this. His streak from May through August was a thing of beauty, especially in the starts where he came off of three days rest and seemed to be even better. Halladay had a much better year than Loiaza, who fell apart when his team needed him the most. No way Pedro should have won with only 14 wins, his ERA may have been lower, but Halladay smoked him in terms of innings pitched, so it's probably not a very fair comparison. Halladay had the best year of any starter in the entire major leagues, he deserves this award. I was 99% sure he was going to win this, but that little 1% had been bugging me since the season ended. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. Fuck Loiaza, he'll probably revert back to his old form in '04, anyway.

Meh, I never claimed to be some beacon of light for this folder, vowing to save it from horrible threads.

Yes, because this is message board posting at its finest.

I enjoy watching Friends. Not so much to buy the DVDs or enough that I'd put it anywhere near the top of my list of funniest shows, but there are aspects of it I enjoy (Joey's facial expressions, for the most part, along with him just being a dumbass in general). I can usually only watch them once or twice, though, so I only watch the re-runs if there's nothing else on. On the other hand, I can watch shows like the Simpsons and Seinfeld over and over and still find things to laugh at. So, the me at least, replaybility plays a major factor in how funny I find a show. Hell, I can watch Frasier all day long. A show like Andy Richter Controls the Universe was hilarious during the relatively short amount of time it was on the air, but since it was cancelled, we'll never know if it could have kept it up (I think it could have, personally). I probably laugh more during Conan than any other show overall, though.

I still don't see the "happy" in making it to the play offs and failing. Failing is failing. Maing it far just gets your hopes up. I think it depends. As a Blue Jays fan and not seeing them in the post-season in over a decade now, I'd be thrilled just to see them in the playoffs, even if they ended up getting swept in the division series as opposed to them winning 80-85 games a year and never making it at all.

Yeah, I remember when I was younger, everytime I was either at my grandparents house or my grandparents were visiting us, we'd have to turn the sound off during Coach's Corner since my grandma hated him so much.

Yeah, he's an aquired taste, for sure. He's a Leafs fan, though, so I tend to like him.

Moved up again, to #2 this week. My goalies are what hurt me this week, as the only game Theodore won (and won with a shutout), I had him on the bench and the only game Biron started he gave up 7 goals. I probably lost out on a few points with all that. I just hope Lemieux either comes back or is put on the injured list soon so I can know what to do with him.

Fonzie would never say that.
