I almost got lost coming home from Gatineau last night because they closed off a bunch of downtown Ottawa after the game. Fuck the Sens. I think Pronger ends up only getting 1 game. The league won't want to make it seem like they decided the series by getting rid of one of the best players on the ice for an extended period of time. If this is regular season or even the first 2 rounds of the playoffs, he probably gets at least 2, though.

My problem with it is not that it was cheating or interference or whatever, I just think it was a bush league move that a player the calibre of A-Rod shouldn't make. He already has a reputation after the move in the ALCS a few years ago and the Pedroia thing and, to me, it kind of cheapens what a good player he is. I don't think Clark is blameless in the thing, but A-Rod knows what he did was cheap, and from the quotes I've read from Torre and Damon, it didn't seem like they like it, either.

He might just want to put the team there for a year or 2 while he has a new building built in Kitchener. And wouldn't the Sabres have more of a beef with a team in Hamilton? I know the Leafs would kick up a storm, but it really wouldn't hurt them too much, they'd still sell out and make a ton of cash, but the fans that the Sabres draw from that area might jump ship instead of crossing the border.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he said 'Hah', which Clark could have thought was 'mine' since he was concentrating on catching the ball. It was also Clark's first game in Toronto this year, I don't even think he was in Blue Jays camp in Spring Training, so I'm not sure if he's played with MacDonald before last night. Anyway, the thing the bugs me the most about it was that he wasn't really involved in the play. People are comparing it to fielders trying to deke baserunners by faking them out, but all those players are involved in what's going on. A-Rod was just running by and wasn't really part of the play (or wasn't supposed to be, anyway). Also, it's A-Rod, who's a lightning rod for shit like this. And when the best player in the game pulls a bitch move like this, it's going to piss people off even more than it would if another player did.

That would probably scare the Leafs a lot, too. Having another team come into 'their' territory and winning a Cup. It probably wouldn't hurt them too much on the bottom line, but that's a big shot to your pride, especially with the Sens possibly winning this year.
