So Roy Halladay goes the distance, giving up only 4 hits. And loses. To the Royals. And Runelvys Hernandez.
-
Halladay's getting the Clemens treatment today. He's only given up 4 hits through 8, 2 of them solo homers in the 1st and 2nd, but the Jays can't get anything across on Runelvys Hernandez (!) and are making him look like Cy Young.

I'm in as Brockvegas Posse. -
I had Zach Miner AND Paul Byrd both start for me on the same team last night. Their 40+ ERAs sure looked nice when I checked the results this morning.

I've never been there, so maybe that's why I don't find it funny. I can't think of any real reason to go there, though. I mean, it can get cold here, too, why would I want to be even colder?

Uh he's been dead before you were born problay. He was the guy who jogged across Canada on one leg. One of Canada's inspirational heros. Not quite. And what's that joke? 'How do you kill a fox? Make it run across Canada', I think. I felt a little bad for laughing at it. Indeed, what you bolded is not quite true. The following sentence is exceptionally true. So, you didn't laugh? There's also that lamer joke, 'Ha, if I got to Thunder Bay, I wouldn't want to go any further, either!'. I never laughed at that one.

I can't believe people are actually getting mad at the coach for smacking the kid who swore. Blowing it way out of proportion, as usual. 'OMG HE SLAPPED HIM THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!', he just kind of hit him with his hand.

"Hillenbrand chose not to fight Gibbons and was designated for assignment afterwards." I love that, makes it seem like he got cut because he wouldn't fight the manager.

http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/news_story/?ID=174936&hubname= http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2556925 They didn't show the bloody nose on the Jays broadcast, that's not really surprising. I really hope that that photographer got some pictures of it. Fuck, this has been an interesting season, even if it has been a soap opera.

You could see Gibbons trying to keep it calm when he went out there, saying 'Just give me the ball' (though, someone at a Jays board I lurk at said his wife thought he threw a 'fucking' in there), and Lilly was looking PISSED, shaking his head saying 'I'm trying to win the game'. He pretty much went straight to the clubhouse and Gibbons followed him in there and then a trainer or someone and a bunch of players went scrambling towards the clubhouse door. I think Lilly's done as a Jay now, even though he was probably gone after the season. The Mets will probably try and take him if he falls to them through waivers. Riccardi and Gibbons probably have at least another year, I think they'll need to make the playoffs next year, though. I know during the off-season Paul Godfrey was talking about his man crush on Riccardi, but Ted Rogers want to see a return on his money, not another 3rd place finish (although, 2nd's in reach right now if the Red Sox keep falling).
-
So, you don't like good shows?
-
Jays are in the process of blowing an 8-0 lead to the A's, 8-5 now in the 3rd with only 1 out. Ted Lilly didn't look too happy when he got pulled, he shook his head at Gibbons and you could see him say 'I'm trying to win the game'. Yep, he's gone next year. Holy shit, looks like they got into a fight in the clubhouse. And the bench is empty.
-
15 HRs last week, only 1 this week. And Miguel Olivo, the only player I played last week who didn't hit one, is sitting on my bench and has 2 this week

Good. The throwbacks are really nice, even if they're basically the same as the current ones. Only took them 5 years of mockerey before they realized that the bear was ugly as shit.

To a point, maybe. I'm sure Lost in HD looks awesome, but you can enjoy the show the same whether it's on an 60" HD screen or a little 13" one sitting on your kitchen counter. If a show needs HD to be more enjoyable, then it's probably not a very good show to begin with.
-
Watching a show just because it's HD is kinda dumb, but whatever. It does look a lot nicer, but it's probably not going to make a shitty show any better. I'll be watching 24 (once it starts), Lost, Office, Earl, and Without a Trace, probably. I've watched the pilot of Jericho, looked alright (and it's got Major Dad in it), so I'll probably give it a shot. There are probably a few other shows that look appealing that I might check out, too, I'll figure it out when they start.

Loved it, but I was disappointed that there was hardly anyone in the theatre. I went to the 9:30 showing, but my brother went to the earlier one and said that there weren't many people there, either. Anyway, quite awesome and I'm going to go see it again sometime, hopefully with more people in the theatre.

Yeah, I never got too far in that game. Still have it lying around somewhere and pop it in from time to time.

-My friend who lived across the street had an NES, so I wanted one, but got a 2600 instead. I can't really blame my parents, though, for not wanting to spend $200 or whatever on something I might have lost interest in. Having to play the Atari on an old black & white TV most of the time, sucked, though. -Finally getting an NES towards the end of it's lifespan. Not too many memories of it, mostly just playing the Mario games a bit and some obscure games like McKids. -My great aunt dying and leaving my brothers and I each $1000. We each took $100 and put it towards a Genesis and a few games (Cyborg Justice and Royal Rumble). -My brothers and I trying to scrounge up enough cash to get Sonic 3. We were digging through the couch, and I think my parents might have thrown in a few bucks, too. -Getting Sonic & Knuckles for Christmas and almost beating it locked on with Sonic 2 that night. I got to the end, but then we had to eat so I had to turn it off. I didn't know the level select code at the time so I never got back to the end until I got the Sonic Mega Collection Plus for PS2 last year.

I know I've written the Jays off at least twice in the past few weeks, but I think they might still have a chance if they have a good week here. They really should sweep the Rays with their top 3 starters going and they should at least be able to take 2 of 3 from Baltimore. Closing the gap on Boston first will be easier, with the Sox playing the Tigers before the 5 gamer against the Yankees. Best case scenario, Tigers sweep Boston while the Jays sweep Tampa and then the Sox win the 5 game series against the Yankees while the Jays take the Baltimore series. The Orioles taking a game or 2 from the Yankees would be nice, too. I know this team's good enough to go on a nice run (and it seems like they might be starting one now, winning 6 of 8 after the 7 game losing streak), and now would be the best time, as Oakland's the only team with a winning record they play for the rest of the month.

Yeah, it's not funny when you do it.
-
I thought Chacin was pitching in Dunedin since the Jays are down in Tampa.

The Twins have forgotten how to hit. They got shut out by the Jays again tonight and have only scored 1 run in the first 3 games of the series. Jays already have more wins in the first 3 games of this 10 game road trip than they did on the 10 gamer a few weeks ago to Seattle, Oakland, and New York. Of course, it's probably too late for it to mean anything, and I kind of wanted the Twins to win the Wild Card now that the Jays are probably out of it.
