Too bad you didn't start a thread asking people if they wanted to fight, then.

I wonder about Roy Halladay every once in a while. I think getting hurt the past 2 seasons could eventually hurt his chances, especially since breaking his leg last year might have cost him a 2nd Cy Young award if he had kept pitching as well as he had in the first half of the season. Throwing out '04, he's been one of the best pitchers in the league since 2002 (his '02 numbers are probably nicer than his '03 season, too, minues the walks), dominant for stretches, plus he's 'old school' and throws a lot of complete games for this era, so some voters might like that. I know it's hard to tell this early, but it's something I spend some time thinking about. I apologize if this is rambling, but I just got home from work and really need to go to sleep.

Yeah, trying to be optimistic and all that jazz, but being realistic, the only way the Jays make it this year is to go on an amazing hot streak and hope that both the Yankees and Red Sox go into a huge funk.

I live about half-way between Toronto and Montreal, too bad you don't have a car.

Glad that Will Arnett FINALLY got nominated, even if it's 2 years too late. Rainn Wilson and Ethan Suplee should have been nominated for the Office and Earl in the same category, too, but they've got a few years still and the of the shows nominated in that category won't be back next year, anyway.

I'll trade one of my pitchers (minus Kazmir) for offensive help if anyone's interested.

Omar Minaya made some bad ones when he was in Montreal. Look at what he gave up to get Bartolo Colon and look what Washington has to show for it now.

Michael Young for Esteban Loaiza!

The Blackzilla girl looks familiar.

Everybody say a little prayer for Roy Halladay, please. He broke his leg in Texas last year right before the All-Star break and he's starting there again on Tuesday night. Thanks.

I want to say that's part of some set of cards that they released with Expos and Jays players on it like 12 or 13 years ago. I remember getting some when I went to a pre-season game between them in Montreal when I was younger, but I don't remember what they look like, though I'm pretty sure they were drawings of the players like that one. The cards are probably stuffed in my closet somewhere, so it'd be tough to find them.

Lucked out this week, I'll win every pitching category since my opponent will miss the minimum by 2/3rds of an inning. Thank God Brett Myers beat his wife up!

Holy shit, FIVE Jays? Rios won't be able to play, so I thought maybe they'd take him anyway just so they can say they did and still put someone who deserves to be there in. Didn't think Glaus would make it, but I guess the 22 homers were too much to ignore.

They didn't even bother to make the numbers and the 'Canada's in the same style as they are in their new uniforms. They obviously had that shit left lying around from a few years ago and stitched them on to some black jerseys.

Not a big fan of the Gill signing. Over 2 million a year for 3 years for someone who's not going to have a lot of trade value, even.
-
There Jays Canada uniforms are ugly. The red they threw in there don't fit with the rest of the colour scheme, looks like pink on the front.
-
I like the Kubina signing, the money may end up being a bit too much, but that's true with anyone. It'll help especially towards the end of the season, since they won't have to lean on McCabe and Kaberle so they won't end up as tired.

I'm always amazed how fast some stuff can come together. I mean, free agency just started a few hours ago and already the floodgates are opening. You'd think the players would want to wait a day or 2 to see if anything else comes in.

Jovanoski to Phoenix for 5 years, as per the Score ticker.

Eric Hinske: Lead-off hitter. Didn't think I'd ever see that.

Marlon was pretty good in The Ladykillers.

How long can they keep you on the ballot for? Isn't it pretty obvious that Vachon is never getting in?
